This is an incredible 2D character action game in the style of DMC, Bayo, and recently Hi-Fi Rush. Campaign mode is a fun and simple yet challenging strategy game with combat as your encounters. Do massive combos in a black, white, and lots of red stylish game.
If you like good games, buy Aztez. So many good hours here. It's hard to describe this game since it is it's own thing. It almost feels lazy to label this game a beat-em up but I will say this is a must have in your library for beat-em up fans. Cult classic gaming right here
Really fun little hidden gem of a game. Much recommend.
A most bloody beat em up you will surely play.
One of the best videogames I been playing in a long time, I would love that the developer team put more updates on this game, even raise the difficulty, I love it 5 of 5 stars
You don't have to be an Aztec history nerd to enjoy Aztez. But you will most certainly enjoy it more if you are. On the surface it may look like a generic beat 'em up game with an Aztec skin, but it is surprisingly well researched, and feels like a passion project by Team Colorblind. The controls are supremely crisp and responsive, the artstyle is very characteristic, but not oppressive, and lets you focus on the key details of combat while providing refreshingly diverse arenas. But where this game truly shines is its controls, animation, and sound design. The music is atmospheric, the moves feel swift but decisive, and the sound perfectly conveys the absolutely bone shattering strikes you deliver. The campaign mode, while dynamic and relatively replayable, gets a bit repetitive once you get the hang of the game. You'll mostly be playing it to land some honest-to-Huitzilopochtli badass combos, or to try to challenge yourself to beat the campaign in creative ways. Apropos the campaign, it punishes you for losing fights, HARD. Like making you restart your whole-ass run hard if you run out of lives. It's really not hard to win once you're decent, but devastating if you don't. The combat tutorial technically covers everything you need to know, but leaves you feeling unprepared to fight real enemies instead of practice dummies. I suggest getting some time in at the arena to remedy this and learn some actual combat skills, before diving into the campaign. Don't get discouraged! It is genuinely challenging, but SO incredibly satisfying once you do learn it. Aside from the combat, the campaign has no tutorial whatsoever, and you basically have to figure it out on your own. It makes sense once you do, but getting there is not the easiest. You will have to make sacrifices in the campaign (both in combat (hah) and in the turn based strategy part) in the form of not taking the missions you want to do, in order to go deal with emergencies that spring up. And those missions will be gone forever once you end the round. Despite these flaws, Aztez remains my favorite fighting game of all time. My personal favorite weapon, the club, genuinely feels like you're shattering bones with every swing. The sound and animation design are just that good. All of these flaws can be overcome with some perseverance and maybe some research on your part if you feel so inclined (though by no means necessary). As with many things, your mettle will determine your success.
Awesome game.
my eyes!
