Very happy with this game! I do not support the NFL in any way shape or form due to their lack of ethical conviction and anti-american culture policies. Axis Football 2021 is a great alternative to supporting their disgusting philosophy and life practices! Face it, at this time in history, no one respects you unless you cut their purse strings. Time to show the NFL that 'real' americans do not approve, and hit them where it hurts...the pocket book. Axis 2021 is first Axis Football game I've played. I read about previous versions before buying, and there was good talk about how they continued to be improved, so supporting this dev did not seem foolish. Graphics are what you see. I think they are great! Having played irl (not pro), I find showmanship to be an exoteric behavior of insecurity and so I do not wish to have close ups of overgrown narcissists dancing like school girls. I don't miss that. But the graphics are great for just playing football! Good customization of teams and uniforms. You feel like it's YOUR team! You can create your own dream team or play underdog like the Bad News Bears! Gameplay is good and smooth! I think there is a good variety of plays available and menu's are easy to use. Aspects that I think would make this game even better by improving would be the tackling. Needs to be refined. There is nothing glitchy with it, but there just aren't the animations of the 'big hit'! Passing is the big one. It wasn't too much of a learning curve to us the mouse, but it is still very very difficult to connect with the receiver. It doesn't matter how good my QB or WR is, the passes pretty much always feel random whether the ball will be caught or not with indifference to whether it hit the receiver in the hands or of any key inputs I've made. I think the passing is a big deal and hope it's refined in the next title and I think sales and reviews would be more favorable as a result. It's just amazing! I fully support this dev! They make a game with a minuscule fraction of both human and financial resources compared to EA and the NFL, and it's just great! That is difference between doing something because you think it is worth while, and doing something because you goal is to ONLY make money (you're corporate, you know, like how EA and disney killed Star Wars, now EA and NFL kill Madden) Corporations only care about MONEY. They will sell you crap and they don't care because you're dumb enough to still pay for it. Have you seen madden22 reviews? They've been making that madden game for 20+ years and they still only get mixed reviews! They still REFUSE to make a game for the people who play it, and there is no reason for them to because dumb people still pay for it. People still hand money over fist to these jackals!!! I guess it's time to finally ask yourself..."Am I the dumb person EA, NFL, Disney, etc... advertises to?"
Terrible game. This is NOT the Madden alternative you're looking for. Pros: - Customization is very detailed with a lot of options and possibilities - Franchise mode has a lot of depths when managing a team - Matches have commentary... Cons: - ... But the commentary is very poor and repetitive - The AI is way too dumb - Graphics are ugly - Animations are garbage - Physics are a joke - Gameplay (in matches) is so bad - Performance issues, even on high-end PCs - Controls could be better (I played the game with an Xbox One controller) - Very arcade-y (yet advertised as a "simulation-style football game") - The game feels like it's a low-budget indie game from the early 2010's Overall, it's a very bad game, I don't recommend wasting money and time on this. Maybe you could have fun with Franchise if you just manage your team and simulate the matches, and also with customization if you're into that, but that's all. Playing matches in this game is everything but fun or realistic.
Like many, I acquired this game for the General Manager/Coach aspect. I'd say the game is decent but I just can't fully endorse it. Maybe it's my computer (2020 iMac with 40GB RAM) but the game freezes or crashes far too often. The bizarre ball deflections and players occasionally being launched way in the air don't bother me as much as simple things like player names becoming misaligned (i.e. selecting them during player progressions displays a name of someone else on the team). • If it would help the game run more smoothly, I would gladly trade the stadium audiences sparsely populated with wacky-wavy inflatable tube people for just a static image of a full stadium. • Maybe it's too much database wise, but I'd like to click on players on other teams and see how they're doing (especially those I've traded away) • At the end of the draft, I'd like to see a report ranking all draftees by position (confirming that yes I did draft the best RB for example) • Unless it's patented or something, I think it would be cool to revise the scoreboard to be a detailed display box with game stats (Plays, Pass Yds, Run Yards, Time of Possession) on the side with drive summaries of every possession that stack below it (kinda like the NFL app)
I tried this out since some of my buddies said it was made more for older madden players like me who liked to make custom teams & run leagues instead of playing & omg this was so disappointing, the create team tab was really bad, the color selector was awful, why couldn't i pick a color? why did i have to mess with the RGB sliders that go either too slow or 2 fast? There should just have colors to pick by default & when i get to the Hex importer, i had to type the hex in for the color instead of simply Copy paste it ingame. & some reason the colors wouldn't save on the uniforms when i picked the colors so i would have to repick the colors again. The Create Team which i was looking forward to was underwhelming. Then when i got to the gameplay, the game was so laggy & slow & i have a gaming pc & even when i lowered the settings to the lowest possible, it was still unplayable. This game should be skipped if you want to run custom leagues like older maddens as this doesn't come close to cutting it
Obtained for free in giveaway. It's really bad. Not fluid, feels clunky. Having way more fun with Sunday Rivals.
I can't recommend this game. It feels like an unfinished game. I had two kickoffs returned for touchdowns in my first game. It was not because they were great plays, it was because the blocking system is an unfinished mess. Passing the ball is easy. Jump ball passes work way too often. This game feels very, very unfinished.
Nota 1.5/10. Não recomendo!
It SUUUUCKS.
The actual game-play is god awful but the franchise mode is decent. There's also a bug that doesn't let me see the play art pre snap even though i'm holding LT, please devs fix this it's very annoying. For $0.99 it isn't awful and I'd probably recommend it for that price but it definitely needs a game-play overhaul if it ever want's to have a shot at competing with Madden and EA. But I can't stress this enough to the devs, FOCUS ON GAMEPLAY IMPROVEMENTS. Sure franchise mode is alright but when the actual playing of football is the way that is is in this game, it's hard for football fans to not write this game off as a complete joke. I also would like the devs to not do yearly releases and instead focus on this game for a couple of years so that Mods and the community don't get split between releases.
I really really really wanted to like this game... I don't care about animations, frame rates, etc.... it doesn't need to be polished like Madden. This seemed like a good alternative, with a solid franchise mode, and coach/simulation gameplay options. But the AI is truly horrible... my A+ rated QB routinely throws into triple coverage, with 2 guys WIDE open for the 1st down with no defender within 10 yards of them. I don't know if that is worse for the QB, or the idiotic defense. My kicker can't kick the ball over 45 yards, while the kicker on the opposing team with the same KickPower rating make 60yarders look easy. Again - this is all the AI playing in "coach" mode. If you want to see the 3 stooges play football, this will do it. It just wasn't fun. I wish the Developer the best... there is a market for this type of game if done well, and this is getting many things correct. But NFL2k5 remains the gold standard, and no one has been able to match it yet, which is terrible nearly 20 years later.
