Great digital rendition of the classic board game. Just wished it had the research feature.
16 tanks, 12 men, 3 artillery, 7 planes walk into a bar and attack 9 men, 3 tanks, 2 artillery, and 2 AA guns. The AA guns get 3 hits. The 12 attacking men get zero hits. The defending units get more hits in the 1st round of combat then the attacking units. The attacking units get more hits with fewer units in the second round of combat. They lose 12 men , 2 artillery and 3 planes and take the territorry. Just be prepared for hilarity when playing this game because the dice produce absurd results.

I need an easy mode in this game. I can only win as the USA and even then it took me seven hours to win in this game. I think it was easier for the allies to win actual WWII then it is to win as them in this game as a new player. That being said I kept coming back for more.
Fun to play with friends and not overly demanding with 24 hour cycle for online play.
Every year that goes by proves how timeless this game is. It was fun as a board game, but is much more manageable as a video game.
ive played this game for years when it came out years ago, and it seems to be missing some elements i remember, such as being able to attack subs with aircraft, weapons development! where is that?, and the most frustrating not being able to throw (click) my own dice when being attacked, i just lost 4 battleships 3 aircraft carriers with aircraft on so 6 aircraft and six transports against a smaller ♥♥♥ navy that seemed to inccure not a single loss and when i tried to look at the battle log it wasnt there! i have spent hours building this navy only to basically have it deleted! so i deleted the game whats the point in playing if you cant even manage your own defence i have no idea what the ai is doing or what the dice throws look like. at first i was thrilled to be playing it again but i assume some people have decided to tinker and theres no way to adjust it anywhere. its much better than it was a few years back but overall it really needs more options and better graphics the pieces look terrible.
6 tanks, and a plane can somehow be killed to just 1 guy sitting on his azz by the games rng rolls
This is so much easier than setting it up everytime IRL lol
It's a pretty straight forward adaptation of the board game. But rating it as a video game I have to say it's mediocre. So many quality of life things they could have added. Simple things like when you hover over a country or territory it says it's name and what units are there and their names. Little things like that... because it's a video game. So make the UI slick and helpful. I don't like the combat either.
It's a good game, made for Axis & Allies players; it's the best app for playing this type of game. However, the 1942 version isn't the most accurate or balanced. It's a shame the project has been abandoned; basically, only the same players keep playing, making it very difficult for new players, who quit after just a few hours. But it's a very simple game for veteran players of this series.
