About

Silesian Wars is a turn-based strategy game played entirely on a map of real Silesia. Every province is an actual gmina with borders drawn from real geographic data; the towns, castles, cathedrals and fortresses on the map stood — or still stand — where the game puts them. You don't conquer a fantasy continent. You fight over Wrocław, Opole, Brzeg and Nysa, and the rivers and mountain passes that decided their fates.

The campaign follows Silesia through the centuries — each era a self-contained scenario, and a link in a chain you can play end to end:
Pagan tribes raising wooden strongholds along the Oder
Piast unification and the Mongol storm of 1241
The fragmentation into quarrelling duchies
The Bohemian crown and the Hussite wars
Habsburg rule, Reformation and Counter-Reformation
Prussia's conquest and the age of fortresses
Industry, plebiscites and the divided Silesia of the 20th century — all the way to the modern day
Play any era as standalone unit with mechanics unique to them.

Dozens of historical dukes, kings, bishops and warlords lead the factions — each an AI character with its own temperament: aggression, grudges, loyalty, greed, faith. Their difficulty ratings aren't guesswork; every leader earns its rank in automated AI-versus-AI tournaments before it ever faces you. And beyond the mortals wait the legends of Silesian folklore, champions like Rübezahl, Lord of the Mountains.

Turns are simultaneous: every ruler gives orders, then the world resolves at once. Raise and move armies, colonize the frontier, develop provinces, build markets and forts shaped by the terrain they stand on — then live with what your neighbors decided at the same moment. Diplomacy is a weapon too.

Full online multiplayer: host a match or join over the internet or LAN, pick your seats in the lobby, chat, pause, save mid-match and continue later. Fill the remaining thrones with AI leaders of any difficulty, or just spectate and watch history unfold.

Landmarks appear and disappear with the centuries — a wooden gród gives way to a Gothic castle, a bastion fortress, a coal mine. Hand-crafted event paintings mark the great turning points, and map views let you read the land like a chronicle: economy, armies, faith, danger.
Authentic map of Silesia — every province a real gmina, real geodata borders
Scenarios spanning a millennium, playable standalone
Simultaneous turn resolution — no waiting for your move
Historical AI leaders with distinct personalities and tournament-earned difficulty ratings
Diplomacy with memory: alliances, tribute, fealty and grudges
Terrain-aware economy and real historical landmarks
Online and LAN multiplayer with lobby, chat, pause, spectators and mid-match saves

Reviews
This is just a PARTIAL review since I am trying my best to figure everything out, so this review is very basic. --> This game runs in Manjaro Linux without proton or wine! <-- This game uses AI for graphics. Not a big deal for me since the graphics used have been hand picked and PROPERLY used for this historical war game. The choices for the main menu alone are cream of the crop and are just drop dead gorgeous. 28 screenshots are scrolled through as you listen to some very amazing music. Just sitting and watching the main screen is worth your time. The images are just about perfect for this game. The historical battles here are very rare to find in most war games. I have not seen or heard of most of these so that is one massive plus over other war games. Just like the game Arete with it's rare battles, this game too has so many you're hard pressed to look for anything else. You can play the historical battles or hypothetical ones. It's up to you once you start the game. Now if you're new to war games, so you know, this game can or cannot have timed turns. I cannot fathom playing a 30 second turn but I assume for many war game buffs this could be fun for them. As for me, I have to turn off the timed turns since I am not fast enough and also need a tutorial to figure out what and where I have to do things. There are five or six settings for timing as well as shutting it off. A tutorial is BADLY needed as the game is literally CRAMMED with information once you start and go to the starting screen. You're completely boggled by the amount of information on the screen for not only your historical character that you choose, but also the AI players. You can see your stats as well as all the AI player stats. Take ALL of this information to note as I'm sure all of this has some kind of effect during the game and you'll find it quite interesting to say the least. Take note of EVERYTHING and it's a TON of information. Once you choose your leader and want to start the scenario, you're dropped into the main map. This is where things get a bit confusing or for a lack of the better term - you're overwhelmed. Having a key press card or something would greatly help here. Your mouse does a ton of work to get things moved, chosen or done during the process of your turn. I still have YET to understand everything happening here and find that very stimulating as it shows the seriousness and gravity of how far this developer has gone to make a real nice war game. To be honest this game looks like it's going to be a fun ride and with the historical side of it with timed control or not, some of these battles look very very interesting. I am looking forward to just how deep this game gets and so far it's been a doozy. I highly recommend this game to ANY history and/or war game buff.
