If this game was made by a team of 3 to 5 High-School kids its pretty good... if grown ups made something like this its a sad thing... 1. You can only build where it allows you to build.... so theres 1 spot for the house, 1 spot for the mine and so on 2. You hover over stuff with your mouse for some reason to collect them 3. The pixel population does nothing but walk around randomly I wanna give you guys the benefit of the doubt so maybe this is a early alpha version but please just don´t sell this yet... or at least not at that price... this is just a instant refund for me.
I would not recommend this game. The reason behind why I would not recommend is not based on gameplay, story, mechanics, etc. I'm actually unable to review either any one of them as the game crashes on startup. The reason I do not recommend this game is because the creator/developer does have any interest in fixing issues with this game. After posting a bug report with the crash information, was told by the developer [Tbjbu2] that he is, and I quote, "Not interested in trying to solve it".
I've received this game for free in a beta period (roughly two weeks before release on Steam).
Prelude
First things first: if you are a solo developer, you should be proud of your releases. According to the Discord server, the developer of this game has released other games on Steam as well (which you can find), but they are released under another publisher and dev account, which is a strange thing for me. Second things first: if you take a look at the current positive reviews, you will notice, that non of the positive reviewers have played the game after publishing the review. If they really liked the game, they would have played it more. So I think, those reviewes are friends helping out. But that's just my opinion.
Actual Review
I received a free Steam key to give feedback to the developer roughly two weeks before releasing the game. He asked me to play through the main content and fill out several feedback forms. Honestly, I did play an hour and closed the game, fully disappointed by it. The dev questioned me, if "this is not your type of game?". A look into my steam games reveals, that I play (building) simulation games alot. Here is what's wrong with it:

All of the graphics feel like they are cheap royalty free assets (meant to be as a placeholder for the actual buildings). Example: the "saw mill" is a building which drills into the ground. No idea in which dimension that should be a saw mill.
The progression feels very slow, most of the time you wait to get resources
To "speed up", you can click resources for faster gathering, which feels like a mobile game
If you expand your build area, you can only build 1 building per expansion on the predefined slot. A predefined slot is for example a "Gold haystack" or "Stone haystack" - which does not make much sense
The UI feels like free assets as well. The in game ui is different from the setting ui which is different from the control mapping ui. And by different I mean completly different, other fonts, other graphics
As pointed out by others, the people walking in the game are completly useless. They simply walk around somewhere.
Some of the buildings have a medieval design others have sci-fi design. Again here: it looks like free cheap assets meant to be placeholders instead of the real buildings
Camera controls are weird. It's a third party perspective camera, as you know it from any city builders, but the controls are for an FPS camera. Example, if you press W which in other city builders would move the camera north, in this game it will move actually the camera in the facing direction, like a FPS game
The whole game simply feels like some assets are thrown into Unreal Engine, pour some very little mechanics over it and ship it.
Honestly, in the current state, I'd consider the game rather an very early access title than a full title worth $12. I still think, that the game concept has potential, but it needs at least more than a half year of development before it should be shipped. Somewhere on the discord, the dev mentioned, it took two months for the current result. And that is what you get. At the current state, I'd rather not pay for this, it's a 0/10.
Its what the creator of Cookie Clicker would make for a city builder but worse. No in game help or guide. Limited resource development. The graphics don't even make sense for the production buildings, why does the wood production building look like a well point drill supported by a snake? Houses look like old wood structures with torches, but the city hub is futuristic. Can't even theme consistent. The entire game is clicking on resources to upgrade your storage so you can get the next bigger upgrade. Sorry, the game sucks.
I've been playing the game for about 14 hours now and while it was fun at start, some things started to annoy me: - First off, a dev who claimed (in discord) this game is worthy of a full release, which obviously is not the case). - Too many plots are taken by bandit camps and mining plots - Boats are buggy and can break sometimes (not allowing you to load resources on it) - It needs more optimization, i have a great pc but even for me the game started stuttering (ingame and sound) - Bandit camps need balancing. I have them with only kings, which requires a max level training field. By the time i can defeat them i have no more need for such resources you can get from them. - You can manually help to speed up the building progress, the idea is nice but it doesn't work when your building get a bit bigger. Expecially on the big plots this is pretty much undoable. - You can also manually gather resources around the mining field, here aswell the building is in the way. Iron and coin miningfields are most annoying since the speed is high and your resources are quite small to hover over and keep up with it. _______ I have played it for about 14 hours and there was fun in it, however, the game is not finished, there's alot to polish. The main reason i would not recommend this game is because the dev has no intention on putting further work in his/her game, so expect not too much from it if you were to buy the game. What the dev litterally said: "This game is worth of full release and this is what you can expect for this price"
Barely scratching the surface here but it's rather fascinating watching this experience unfold. It's an interesting game and it takes patience to create beauty but it can easily be done. The description of the game explains the game to a T but it's exactly that and more. I like it , I am yet to make a federal structure or sail among the boys in the sea but it's just a matter of time!
its a simple game reminds me of an android game. few little issues i found controlling the camera can be a pain. and its a shame you can only build where it lets you but hoping that this is early gameplay and more updates and patches will follow. bit slow to start but im enjoying it more as i get into it . here is my youtube vid if anyone wants to see gameplay https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4mypxT1WacY
I got this product for free, i did play it for 4 hours, i got as far as reaching the 2nd island, unlocked most stuff that I was able to. The gameplay is very annoying, its a clicker game that is actually pretty terrible for the player, I would say this is a proof of concept type of game, like alpha. If this was made by some kid, its actually not bad for his first game, its functional and it seems to do what he intended it for it to do, other then that, dont buy this game. Mas espeso que la sopa de fideos que lleva hecha una semana.
A unique base building game where your goal is to expand on the next island. Collect gold, stone, trees, metal etc. Research new army characters to combat tribes. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sQdG4RRlSsY&feature=youtu.be
