Australian Football Coach 2023-24

As an ardent Aussie Rules fan, I originally had mixed feelings about Australian Football Coach. While the concept was exciting, the simulation engine left a lot to be desired. One of the biggest issues I raised was how teams with the worst attributes could still make the top of the ladder or even win the premiership. It made the game feel too unpredictable and disconnected from actual player ratings. That said, I’ve seen real improvements. The developer has clearly put in a lot of work behind the scenes—releasing regular, free roster updates and continuing to fine-tune the match engine. The recent changes have made team strength and player quality feel more impactful overall. The addition of natural skill development adds another layer of realism too, and it’s great to see the game evolving in the right direction. There’s still more to be done—the sim engine isn’t quite where it needs to be yet, and weaker teams can still overperform more often than they probably should—but I really appreciate the dedication that’s gone into improving things. It’s not just a one-and-done release; it’s a game that keeps getting better. I’m happy to give it a thumbs up and support that continued progress.

Big step forward from the previous release. While there are some minor kinks, it's not so bad you don't enjoy the game, Will play this game lots and already looking forward to the next instalment,

Very enjoyable easy to understand coaching mechanics, would highly recommend to anyone who enjoys footy coaching and managing.

Compared to other titles in the in this genre, Australian Football Coach offers a simplistic experience that is a little rough around the edges (how the game can run - Overblown resolution on 1080p first run, corrected) but a interesting one overall. If you're a graphics snob, AFC will bore the ever living crap out of you - This game like any good simulation will be using the CPU for the gameplay. Similar to classics like Sensible World of Soccer you're not really going get licensed clubs and competitions, but you will get a surprising amount of freedom with the sandbox experience when creating your fantasy leagues to simulate. Sound and visual, this game relies on your imagination and simulated statistics. Like I said, not without it's faults but an interesting experience overall if you're looking to get into a sports management sim within the Aussie Rules Football space.

Great fun, managed to get North a flag and Sheezel a Rising Star, so that's a recommended from me.
