genuinely a goated game , genuinely. is good , it runs fine , it controls fine and the gameplay is genuinely fun and engaging. BUT 2 years without a patch note or the publisher giving a hell about it. the only thing we have left is either someone start modding the hell out of this. or hope it doesnt turn into a "is my ip and ill sit on it and do nothing with it all i want" scenario.
(I have this game on GOG too and sunk over a hundred hours there I'm pretty sure) This game is super charming, IMO, excellent music and art. There is a bit of a learning curve, this game is great for those who like juggling many things at once, and becomes very addictive. It doesn't have a ton of upgrades and weapons, it's more of a git gud kinda roguelite. You get to pick a handful of upgrades to point things in a certain direction, maybe try to marry a particular partner. The years which work as difficulty settings that you unlock when beating it make enemies tougher, harder and eventually unlocks elite versions of some of them, but you also get currency to unlock some meta progression elements that aid you somewhat. I recommend getting the dlc, they are fairly cheap and add a good bit of fun to the game. There have been a few updates that changed things a lot, and I appreciate that there is a classic mode available to try the previous crop system, although the new one feels a bit better, enormously reducing the amount of seeds you have to keep track of. I wish some accessibility settings were a bit better, there is an aim assist for controllers, and auto shooting while farming, but for the most part using a controller feels a lot more difficult to me. It's really easy to mess up planting 4 of a kind together to fuse into a bigger plant, it's really easy to accidentally dig up a plot somewhere you didn't want to, or plant seeds on accident, etc.. But it's also not an unreasonable challenge even messing up that much.
More shooter than farming sim, but the farming definitely adds a cool layer too the roguelite loop.
one of the best games ever
傻逼地鼠
The game is contained on one small map, but the skill-based challenge of it all + the random enemy generation make for very fun progression.
