This game is a steal for the price! It's genuinely so cute and fun, and the creator clearly had a ton of fun ideas that they were passionate about! I found the game so unexpectedly enjoyable (there's so much that makes me giggle, like squishing bosses flat with anvil rain, or a dancing crab boss, or flexing pirate dude bros) that I ended up buying my wife a copy too! The amount of replayability (through upgrades, events, each character significantly changing the way the game is played, etc) and progression is amazing!! <3

This is an *incredibly* endearing, fun little Rogue-lite game!! If you're fond of Survivors games or rogue-lites in general, I deffo recommend~ The crab made me giggle so much the second I fought it xD and the minigames like the blacksmithing are so cute!! It's super cheap and very enjoyable so far ♥ If I were to offer feedback: The major "positives" in my opinion, at least so far, is in its smoothness and general playability (despite being made by a solo dev?? Well done!!), as I've only noticed relatively inoffensive bugs so far, and its surprisingly charming aesthetic and theming. The bosses, especially, made me smile every time and look forward to the next! The only negative I'd leave as feedback, so far, is: Some more variety in music would be appreciated! Even just a few more musical tracks would go a long way~ Especially with how charming the game is overall :3 (Thanks for the copy of the game, wifey! :3 ) (Update! The *extreme* speed of update to resolve issues brought up (adding an entire backup system within hours of it being brought up??) really speaks well of the dev-work! That, and they're super friendly and open on the game Discord :3 ♥)
Love this little game! Plenty of things to do and different characters and builds to try.
Cute pixel graphics, fun gameplay, lots of upgrades and characters! Nice level progression! Will keep playing, it's fun!
Great surivors like game with unique classes and abilities. Rounds are quick and fun
I've been playing Lone Survivors On & Off for a good bit now. On the verge of getting the last few achievements I need to 100% it. Overall it's a fun, charming little game that has everything you could want from a one man band built Survival-like. That said it does have it's little quirks and flaws and is by no means a perfect game. Visuals are very stylised NES style pixel art, it's not all that pretty but it's serviceable for the most part. The gameplay loop is addicting enough, you've got your Campaign which mainly consists of 4 maps and one 'final encounter' scenario. Then once you've progressed a bit you start unlocking the other modes, as well as ascension modes that let you replay the campaign at a higher difficulty. Mode wise, you've got Endless, letting you try to survive on each of the 4 major maps. A Speedrun mode, which is just trying to beat the campaign as fast as possible. Ironman... which is just Endless but you're locked in a small dull gray room with only 20 level ups to spend... feels a bit unnecessary to me. And a Bossrush, self explanatory. The survival gameplay itself is what you would expect, run around auto attacking hordes of enemies, pick up xp and level up. Collect coins to buy Meta upgrades after the runs over. You've got multiple characters you unlock, which their own skill trees and weapon unlocks. The good stuff. Now speaking of Meta progression, I do have one problem with it.... the currency requires are too darn high! Like, for a good chunk of the mid-game you're gonna be finishing runs and just barely being able to afford 1 upgrade, if any. The quickest way to grind alot of money is to survive 20+ in Endless, when the game starts throwing so much stuff at you that you rack up cash like crazy, which unfortunately is more of an End-game level thing. Best advice is to prioritize any and all Coin and Coin-chest upgrades in the general Skill-tree. Easier said then done when the Gold Chest requires an insane 2 Million coins, I know... I think the game would be better paced if the meta prices were slashed by a 20-40% margin. On the subject of flaws, I do have further nitpicks that kinda tarnish my experience with the game. One the Volcano area starts out great, you've got obstacles in the form of lava everywhere and narrow pathways. It's an extra challenge that require you to watch your step, it's all good. But then several minutes into your run, the game decides to not to just shrink these paths, but in some places, turn these roads into straight islands. Basic traversal now becomes FORCED DAMAGE. Now this isn't so bad in the campaign map, it's large enough that you can reasonable find ways around... but the Endless version is shrunk down to the point where no, there is no way around. Forced damage is the road and in a bullet hell survival game where your HP is a limited resource you're trying to conserve at every step... the pieces don't fit. And that's without also factoring in the enemies, their projectiles and the giant lava squid boss that fills up every empty space with it's tentacle attack. Next up, beach map. You've got these Pirate enemies with lil flintlock pistols. Their projectiles? A Yellowy-orange, Teeny tiny in size. Now what's the colour of the sand, oh yeah, yellow. They're practically invisible. The only time you can see them just fine is when you're playing the map at night and they have a light-up visual effect. Otherwise you're gonna be playing along and asking yourself, "Why I'm taking damage, there's nothing hitting me!" every-time these guys show up. Enemies in ascension and Endless mode also occasionally come with modifiers. These are cool for the most part, maybe except the damager one... which essentially just punishes you for being remotely close to one of these guys. Which would be fine in most situations, except... oh yeah. The tiny pathway forced damage Volcano area as mentioned above, which just leads into more unavoidable damage. But whats worse then unreasonable modifiers on enemies, why how about sticking them on bosses... Now multiple endless runs I've had a boss get the Enormous modifier. Now this would be fine if it just made them BIG, and that was the end of it. But no, it also scales up their health... by ALOT. And what happens when you apply a 1000% health buff to something that already has alot of health? Oh yeah, you get an unkillable God that is now clodding up the map and teleporting to you if you so much as dare to try to run away. And then the game spawns another... and another... But whats worse then an unkillable boss? How about 4 mini lava squid bosses sitting on an island I can't reach without taking lava damage... subjecting me to a constant tentacle attack.... which rapidly ended that attempt at a post 20min volcano run, no fault of my own just... terrible luck. Next nitpick the Frog character, I love em. But you can't dodge for taffy playing as them. Most boss bullet patterns are built with constant movement in mind. The frog... doesn't work like that. And if it wasn't for the Stomp 5 enemies healing effect, no one would be beating maps as the frog, they need a bit more speed. Also I felt like it was inconsistent over whether jumping over things would actually avoid damage, half the time it felt like I was taking hits anyway. Also wanna bring up the Trials, an Endless mode upgrade where you complete a small trial to get a blue chest. I find that without taking any movement upgrades prior, you can't reasonably complete the move X amount of Feet one. At least not on the volcano map. Also it would also be nice if we knew what trial we were getting ahead of time. So we don't fail them frame one... Should also mention the shrine modifiers that set your Max health down to about 3 in exchange for like +100% damage. Considering we have many other ways to boost our damage and maps like Volcano and it's forced damage pathways existing.... yeah these are useless run killers. Reroll reroll reroll. Overall, I would say Lone survival is like as fun little jigsaw, just that it has a few pieces that don't really fit together properly. With some polish and tweaking it could certainly be better, I do genuinely enjoy playing it and for it's price you'll get your money's worth. Just be aware of some frustration if you decide you wanna 100% the game.
No os dejéis engañar por su estética sencilla, el juego tiene un montón de contenido y secretos. Varias clases para jugar, cada una con una habilidad propia, mapas con diferentes climas... Además, las partidas son superdinámicas, me tiene enganchadísima. Great game! I love the rogue like damage scaling awsomeness of the game. Great on the switch would highly recommend!
$5 is an amazing deal for this game even not on sale. Huge skill tree, a bunch of classes with different mechanics, unique map modifiers, and it's got the chill fun you expect from a survivors-like "bullet heaven". What a steal compared to some of the trash asking you for $70+ these days.
