Atlantis VR is the first "game" I've played using the Valve Index. I use quotations because it's not really a game. It's essentially a roller coaster simulation/experience, but underwater. That's nothing against it though; I went into Atlantis VR knowing this already. The experience lasts around 5 minutes. I really like the idea of these little experiences, if they're done right. They can allow people to experience things that they potentially wouldn't be able to do by other means. Unfortunately, I can't say this was "done right". The general scenery in Atlantis is alright, but the creatures/fishies were pretty disappointing and certainly removed a lot of the immersion. There wasn't much variation in creatures either. The audio side of things were just “alright” too. Nothing special. I'd also like to warn that it made me feel "funny" in the head. Kind of dizzy but not dizzy at the same time… I'm not someone who suffers from motion sickness, vertigo or anything else like that, so I found this a little unusual. That said, I’ve since started Saints & Sinners and felt a little off with that too, so I may just be acclimatising to VR. I expect these feelings to subside with time, and once they do, I’ll give this another shot. I received this in a bundle a couple of years ago, so I didn't spend much money on it. I would recommend others only get it when it's in a bundle or discounted too, due to it being short, having little interaction (only looking around), and the creature details being pretty poor. Basically, there was nothing particularly impressive, but there wasn’t anything terrible either.
Too Long Didn't Read Version

Recommend No, unless you want to use it to make sure no one uses your VR equipment

Hours of Gameplay About five mintues

Synopsis
Atlantis VR is an underwater rollercoaster where you have no control after you start the game. This is a wonderful example of why people get sick in VR. The motion is constant and twists and turns abound.
Gameplay
After you start the game, by putting the dot on start by staring at the word start. After that it is just sit back and watch. Unfortunately this will make most people feel motion sick. Yes, it looks okay, but constantly having your vehicle go through different sea animals was a little odd.
Verdict
I DO NOT recommend this game. The visuals are okay, but the constant motion with twists and turns will make most people sick. If you're looking to keep people away from your VR equipment have them view this "demo" and they will never want to touch it again. I couldn't last through the five minute run time. By the way, I haven't played TheBlu yet, but have installed it after reading the discussion post that this isn't TheBlu and shouldn't be compared because it is 1/5 the cost. However, I will be playing TheBlu just to get an idea of what others are complaining about.
1,99€ for a 5 minute ride isn't really worth it. you could get better and longer games for the same price.
This isn't a game, it's a short 5 minute VR tech demo. All you do is use your VR headset to view an underwater environment on a short tour. That's it. No gameplay, just look. If there's no gameplay, it's not a game. For those unfamiliar with what actually makes something a game, a "game loop" describes the interaction and feedback a gamer has when playing a game. Tetris, for example, has a game loop where a random block appears, the gamer interacts with the block to position it, and then the game decides if that finishes a row or not, increases the players score if any rows were completed, then gives the gamer another block to position. Counter-Strike has a game loop where a player seeks another player, tests their skill against that player by shooting them or being shot, the computer rewards the player if they win, and then if the player survives, they repeat that loop. There's no loop here, no true interactive feedback. It simply is not a game, it cannot be "played". The software is very very short and can be finished in 5 minutes. Developers have at least some responsibility to provide enough content to make a game last more than 2 hours if they're serious about providing something of value to gamers. There's less content here than free game demos have. The software is very simplistic, small and limited in scope and ambition. This is just a tech demo, proof of concept or student homework assignment rather than a fully fledged product designed for PC gamers. As such it doesn't offer any real value as a serious PC game. The poor quality of this software is reflected by how many people spent time with it. At the time of this review, SteamDB shows the all-time peak user number was only 3 players. This is a remarkably low number, and now, the only user activity occurs once or twice a month, presumably someone loading it up to see what it is then quickly uninstalling it. Considering there's over 120 million gamers on Steam and well over 100,000 games for gamers to choose from, the overwhelming lack of interest in this low quality software is to be expected. So, should you buy this software? Is this one of the best of the 100,000+ games on Steam? Atlantis VR is relatively cheap at $2 USD, but it's not worth it. Given the defects and quality issues with the software, coupled with the unrealistic price, this is impossible to recommend. It's impossible for me to recommend things that aren't games to gamers.
Underwater on-rails journey with nothing special.
Česká recenze níže/Review in Czech below. Do you remember those 4D Cinema booths? Atlantis VR is basically that, but VR instead of 4D and with the advantage of limitless rides for one price. Visually it's... well, it's not the best, graphics could use some improvements (and I'm comparing it to other VR titles, not regular games). There's also the choice of putting the boat you're on about half a meter under your floor, so when you look down you're floating above it which is kinda immersion breaking. What I need to highlight is the ability to fool you into thinking you're actually moving, even to the point that I would advise people with motion sickness against playing this. I was just sitting on the floor in real life, yet I really though I was swinging together with the boat, even to the point of reflexively swinging the other way to maintain the "balance". It would be nice if this were longer than just five minutes, and I also don't see a reason why game this short and whith low definition has over 3 gigabytes (and again, I'm comparing this with other VR games). But in the and, 2 euros seems like an okay deal to me, you would pay at least that and probably even more for a similar attraction somewhere in a lunapark. 5.5/10. 5.5/10.

Too short and not worth the money overall 3/10. Atlantis VR will probably take you less time to finish than it takes you to install it. With poor visual implementation and very dated feeling graphics, this didn't do very much for me personally. As a fan of underwater experiences, sea life and as someone with strong VR legs this should have been an easy recommendation. However, I felt uncomfortable due to light motion sickness (very very rare for me in VR) and the experience just isn't really worth anything more than a free to play demo at this point. I did enjoy a few key moments but they felt fairly artificial and almost rushed. There are much better underwater experiences out there. -DanielJMWaters.
why the f I bought this game? I dont remember when or how I got it but today I gave it a chance and I almost had an accident with my stomach, and the game just last 5 minutes, I'm a professional VR player so I was very surprised that this game almost made me throw up, I DO NOT RECOMMEND IT, especially for new VR players, ATLANTIS VR sounds like a super fun game, but it's just a roller coaster ride that lasts about 5 minutes, You don't control the cart or whatever it's called, the cart controls itself and that's why you get dizzy.
