A PSX-style cosmic horror game where a classified mission to study alien architecture on the Moon leads two astronauts into the ruins of an ancient civilization that predates humanity.

About
Astrophobia is heavily inspired by the novella At the Mountains of Madness by H. P. Lovecraft.
In 2001, astronauts Ben Dyer (the player) and Henry Danforth are sent to the Moon as part of a secret mission, Project Kadath, to study ancient megalithic architecture far older than humanity. The civilization that built it did not survive, but something else did.
This is a slow-burn and narrative-focused experience told through character dialogue and environmental storytelling. The plot will unfold throughout multiple set-pieces and locations, such as the moon base, the moon's surface, and the monolithic city beneath the ground.
Immersive PSX-era aesthetics, including affine warping, vertex snapping, distance culling, pixelated textures, and low-poly models.
Exploration-focused gameplay centered on finding key items to progress through the story, enhanced by unique set pieces and locations.
Optional CRT VFX for even more retro vibes.
Horrific monsters based on Lovecraft's deep mythos and creature design.
An original soundtrack.
Low gravity hops, obviously.
Average playtime is 45-60 minutes depending on your pace. You may get even more playtime if you are trying to 100% the achievements!
NOTE: Astrophobia is best experienced in one sitting. However, there is an automatic save feature that activates at the beginning of each level, incase you need it.

Does what it says on the tin! It definitely makes use of the very available Cthulhu Mythos, as sort of a re-imagined 'At the Mountains of Madness' and 'Dream Quest of Unknown Kadath' pressed together. Would actually love to see a longer game that is maybe a bit more involved in terms of systems. Graphics are good, serve their purpose and the storytelling in the environment was also pretty good and well thought out.
I really enjoyed playing this game. I have been recently getting into smaller horror games and this one did not disappoint. lots of build up for the scares. and for 2.99 it was a great experience.

I thought this was a fantastic experience the atmosphere, sound, layout and design were unique with a solid story that I personally loved. I would recommend this game to old school horror gamers and if your a fan of space, exploration and phycological horror. I want to thank the dev(s) did a wonderful job creting this little gem of a game!. Thank you for this game I would rate it a 8.5/10
Very cute little game. The story / twist is far from subtle, but that's honestly refreshing for me in a world where everything leads to a super cryptic ARG LOL. I had fun with this but don't expect anything more than a 2010s style walking sim <3
Neat little game, spooky ambience but nothing too crazy in terms of gameplay. I liked it at least
Short but sweet game... for anyone wondering you must be from Huss Valley in order to defeat the game. 8.33/10.
Liked the game, A little short maybe more updates in the future for more missions but overall nice game, did have me on edge on some parts with the edgy music.
