Retro Horror Story is a short, simple but relatively well made horror game where you must run from a monster while trapped inside a nightmare maze based video game. Pros + Decent Little Story/Dialogue + Intense Running Away From Monster + Not Frustrating To Play + Boss Fights Fun if Basic Cons - A little too generic but not bad for a small dev teams - Quite short Overall Retro Horror Story is a inoffensive horror game, with fun chases, simple puzzles and some good boss battles. For a small dev team it's a good effort 6/10 +

Well, my review is definitely positive, because this game delivers EXACTLY what it promises: a retro horror story! From the classic plot (that reminded me a little bit of The Nightmare on Elm Street) to the simplistic but fun and effective gameplay, this game is a well-executed throwback to classic slasher horror movies and to the first stealth-driven horror games from 10 years ago. Since it perfectly nails its aim, I cannot but recommend this little fun game to every horror fan! Also, I appreciated the personalization of the antagonist's model (which is not trivial at all nowadays unfortunately) and the particularly charming graphics, that propose an admixture between well-known old formulas (low-polygon models, pixelated textures, 2D sprites...) with fancy modern light effects (focused on "neon" light to maintain the retro feel). Despite a few bugs here and there (slight constant stutter even on performance mode, and a bit flawed AI that sometimes gets mysteriously stuck), I 100% recommend this Halloween treat, especially during the spooky month! It's a pretty modest horror game but definitively feels like a labor of love. Definitively a hidden gem.

This game is awesome!! I like the lore and found the puzzles to be a fun aspect of the game. You should definitely play this on Halloween.

Generell die Mechanik war unterhaltsam auch mit den kleinen Rätseln dazwischen und den wiederkehrenden Plottwists. Insgesamt einfach ein wirklich gut gemacht, besonders auch die Animationen und generell das Setting und Feeling! für eine Perfekte Wertung hätte ich mir einfach noch einen kleinen Ticken mehr Inhalt gewünscht, da wir doch recht schnell durch waren.
