Definitely not. It's just another disgusting trash action game that I had to get to know.
Unfortunately, it must be admitted that this game is still too bad to recommend. Very poor game optimization. Need to fix the shooting graphics.
Assassin Of Dombardos is a third person shooter. The game comes with 8 levels and the player can pick up weapons as play continues. Ammo reload stations are widely available. Some health packs are available. The game maps are rather large and not many enemies to kill. The turret is the main target and when destroyed an achievement is awarded. I played this on my Dell 3480 with Arc Xe graphics and RTX A500 discrete graphics. Game is very playable.
30gbs of Unreal Engine slop can be yours for only $0.99. Featuring no pause menu, gaps in the floor, bullet sponges, and stretched JPEGs - to name a few of the issues.
Assassin Of Dombardos presents itself as a deliberately straightforward action experience, one that embraces a minimalist approach rather than chasing modern trends of layered systems and narrative depth. Developed and published by Saylor Games, the title drops players into the role of a cybernetic assassin whose sole purpose is to dismantle heavily fortified mechanical structures known as Dombardos. From the outset, the game establishes a clear and singular objective-driven loop, favoring direct engagement over storytelling or world-building. There is little in the way of exposition, but that absence feels intentional—the game is less concerned with why you are fighting and more focused on keeping you in motion as you push from one combat scenario to the next. The gameplay is built around linear level progression, where each stage introduces waves of enemies that gradually escalate in pressure as you move closer to the main objective. Enemy types vary just enough to keep encounters from feeling completely static, with melee units rushing aggressively while ranged and aerial threats force you to stay mobile and aware of your surroundings. Combat relies on a small but functional arsenal that includes firearms, melee options, and explosives, giving players the freedom to approach encounters in a way that suits their pace. While the mechanics are easy to grasp and responsive enough to remain engaging, they rarely evolve in meaningful ways, which can make the experience feel repetitive over longer play sessions. Still, there is a certain satisfaction in mastering the rhythm of combat, especially when juggling multiple enemy types while closing in on a heavily defended target. Each level builds toward a confrontation with a Dombardos turret, acting as a pseudo-boss that anchors the gameplay loop. These encounters reinforce the game’s central structure, requiring players to manage positioning, incoming fire, and resource usage while chipping away at a durable target. Although these moments provide a sense of culmination, they also highlight one of the game’s limitations: predictability. Once you understand the pattern, the sense of challenge shifts from discovery to execution, and the lack of variation in these encounters can make them feel routine rather than climactic. The inclusion of checkpoints and scattered pickups helps maintain a fair difficulty curve, ensuring that failure rarely feels frustrating, but it also underscores the game’s focus on accessibility over depth. Visually, the game adopts a clean but modest presentation that aligns with its indie scope. Environments change across levels, offering different thematic backdrops such as arid landscapes and colder terrains, yet they remain relatively sparse in detail. The art style prioritizes clarity over immersion, making it easy to read enemy movements and navigate spaces, but it doesn’t leave a lasting visual impression. Character models and animations follow a similar philosophy, delivering functionality without much personality. Sound design mirrors this approach, with effects that adequately support combat but lack the richness or variation needed to elevate the atmosphere. The overall presentation is cohesive, but it rarely goes beyond serving the gameplay at a basic level. One of the more appealing aspects of the game is its concise structure. With a limited number of levels and a clearly defined progression path, it respects the player’s time and avoids unnecessary filler. This makes it well-suited for short bursts of play, where you can jump in, complete a level or two, and step away without feeling overwhelmed. However, that same brevity also works against it, as the experience doesn’t expand or deepen enough to sustain long-term engagement. There are hints of replayability through achievements and score-driven play, but without additional layers of customization or evolving mechanics, the incentive to return is relatively modest. In the end, Assassin Of Dombardos feels like a focused, almost experimental project that delivers exactly what it promises—simple, direct action without distractions. It doesn’t aim to redefine the genre or compete with more complex shooters, and for players who appreciate straightforward gameplay loops, that can be part of its appeal. At the same time, its limited variety and lack of progression systems make it difficult to recommend broadly, as it struggles to maintain interest beyond its initial novelty. It’s a competent but ultimately modest experience that finds its place as a short, no-frills shooter rather than a standout title. Rating: 6/10
Short FPS. Most maps are Easy but there are couple slightly more challenging. + Damn It's Nice (UR5) Graphic. + Nice Sounds + Nice Atmosphere + I did not find any game breaking bugs. + Everything moved smoothly. - Unfortunately it is HUGE, 27GB (No optimization) Absolutely The Best Game from this Indie Developer. Easy Achievements, 100% / 90min. Intel i7 and Gef 2080
Warning: Asset Flip! Assassin Of Dombardos is a Digital Homicide style asset flip, or what Valve calls a "Fake Game". The "developer" paid for/pirated a few Unity asset store assets, dumped them all in a blender, and submitted it to Valve as if they're real game developers.
Two notable criteria for what makes an asset flip instead of legitimate use of stock assets are whether those assets comprise the majority of the game, and whether the "developer" properly credited the people who created most of the assets in the game. This game fails both of those tests. The "developers" here didn't credit any of the artists and real, actual game developers who created the assets here, so this is plagiarism, as well as cash grab shovelware. In this case, the asset flipper took Unreal's third person shooter blueprint and dropped a couple of stolen environment asset packs on it... almost no actual work was done to turn the basic template into a real game, this is very typical for Tero Lunkka. He just steals/plagiarizes the work of others as a scam to try get YOUR money for other people's work. Some examples of the stolen assets here:

"Abandoned Tunnel" Environment from Breakbound Dev
"Modular Military Operation Urban Training Environment - Arabian Pack" Environment from CGHERO
"Abandoned Lighthouse Island - Modular Environment Pack" Environment from Entroverse Lab
It has no value or merit as a real game. Saylor Games/Tero Lunkka have shown a repeat pattern of unethically dumping other people's work onto Steam as a cheap, nasty cash grab, through this account or through closely linked/alt accounts. The controls can't be customised, which will be an annoyance for many, but it can also render the game unplayable for differently-abled gamers, left handed gamers or gamers using AZERTY or other international keyboard layouts. Those technical flaws drag this game well below the minimum quality standards expected of a modern PC game. The poor quality of this game is reflected by how many people spent time with it. At the time of this review, SteamDB shows the all-time peak player number was only 2 players, and the worst part is these weren't genuine players, these were the Russian fake review accounts that the developer paid to make the fake reviews. Since the fake reviews are all done, now the only player activity occurs once or twice a month, presumably someone loading it up to see what it is then quickly uninstalling it. Considering there's over 130 million gamers on Steam and well over 140,000 games for gamers to choose from, the overwhelming lack of interest in this low quality game is to be expected.
Warning: Review Manipulation! This game features a number of fake positive reviews from accounts known to be in the business of review manipulation/paid reviews. They're all written in either Russian, broken English or ChatGPT AI slop, appear at almost exactly the same time, very shortly after the game launched on Steam, all have a direct Steam purchase of the game, and the accounts are used consistently to write fake reviews for asset flips and other cash grabs/scams. The "Positive" review score on this game should be disregarded due to this blatant, unethical review manipulation. This is done to deceive and scam gamers into paying for a bad product. Due to the 2024 FTC ruling (16 CFR § 465.4, 15 U.S.C. § 45), these fake reviews are a violation of US Federal Law.
This kind of asset flipping isn't harmless. It makes it harder for gamers to find genuinely made games from ethical developers. It makes it harder for genuine indie developers, who put hard work into trying to make real games, to find an audience for their products. It gives indie developers a bad name. Now on to pricing and value. Should you buy this asset flip? Assassin Of Dombardos has the total ripoff price of $10 USD, for which you could easily get any number of older AAA games. For comparison, the $10 asking price for this game could get you games like "Europa Universalis IV", "Alien: Isolation" or "Hearts of Iron IV". Quality, professionally made games like those are frequently on sale cheaper than this. The quality problems and defects with this game makes the asking price totally unrealistic. It's impossible to recommend this to gamers here on Steam, especially considering the unethical stuff going on. Because this is just a fake game/cash grab scam, and due to the sheer unethical nature of the developer, you should avoid this completely. Don't reward this morally bankrupt, unethical behaviour from Saylor Games.
