Askutron is a great quiz game for up to 8 players locally and online, Use your phone as controller, Create custom quizzes which will be fully voiced by a speech engine, Great for family and friends. There are over 10.000 questions which are fully voiced and even self made quizzes can be voiced in 18 different languages with the built in speech engine. You can easily upload your own quizzes with the built in workshop support. There are only 20 custom quizzes available to download and play right now, but they work well, and it shows the capability of the game. The game itself reminds me a lot of Buzz Quiz TV, You can even use these controllers, But I have not tested that myself. On top of that you can use normal controllers and even your phone, tablet or laptop, Just go to buzzer.link and enter the room code, It will be in the bottom left corner on top of the QR code, The QR code is for the Askutron Buzzer app in the google play store. Surely the game needs a graphic overhaul, The whole quiz set looks like it is inspired by the tron movie and the ingame UI is extremely basic. But there are tons of sound effects, The Avatars are pretty cool, Askutron himself doesn't look bad in my opinion. I think it could also use more "games" to earn points, It might be a good idea to take some inspiration from real life point based game shows from the past. I really think more ways to earn points and more customizability will help this game become one of the best selling party games on Steam. The main game is extremely solid, It works perfectly, I am not really a fan of one of the ways to earn points, but you can turn of any game you don't like. The questions are correct, relevant and sometimes even funny. The use your phone as controller works great, I even prefer it over using my Xbox controller or kb and mouse, You can read the quetsions on your phone screen and there is 0 noticable delay. You can play the game with up to 8 players, Online, local or a mix of the 2. Online is still in beta, And sadly not many people own the game yet, So I did not have the chance to try it out, But just for local play the game is fun, In fact you could play it over the internet, With the buzzer.link website you don't even need the screen, Everything is readable and answerable from the website on your phone. The game goes pretty fast, It asks the questions, reads out the 4 possible answers and then you can pick which one you think is true. Everything is very clear and everything works just fine. With Buzz the main character would do all kinds of crazy things before a type of round, which is funny in the beginnning, But starts to get annoying pretty fast. In Askutron the games run fast, no frills, no annoyance. Overall I think Askutron has a lot of potentional, It could use more gamemodes for collecting points and that graphic overhaul would be welcome, But I can recommend the game in this state as a great quiz game, and already the best one on Steam. This game has potential but is currently let down by some serious flaws. Some good aspects - it's playable, friends can join in easily and it has fully voiced questions. The big drawback currently is that, as the developers acknowledge, neither of them are artists. The gameshow set visual isn't great and contributes little as a concept. The interruptions from the "host" between rounds are annoying, the avatars are few and uninteresting, and the user experience is affected by trying to force the gameshow format. Joining the game and answering the questions is easy, as it should be. Setting up the format of a session, whether rounds are timed and how points are decided, is more clumsy. The host doesn't need to voice everything - if a session consists of three rounds of "point hunt", do we need the host to announce "we are playing point hunt" before every round?

Played a second round and already had multiple repeat questions. I did not expect this to happen considering the games were only 5 minutes each.

Gotta be honest, it´s a pretty nice Quiz-Game ! Different Game-Modes...A lot of diversified questions... Computerized Voice-Over (both english and german) ...wich is pretty good! ( Even says the Player Names u type in :D ) ...works with xbox-controller and keyboard at the same time...Keeps stats to look into ! AAAnd you can create ur own Quiz in the Editor ...or download one of the many great ones made in the Workshop ! The Developer-Team did a nice job on that one !

Askutron is a fun little quiz game, best enjoyed with up to eight friends on a big TV screen. A nice touch is that smart phones can be used as controllers with a free app and most common game controllers work on PC as well. Since the latest update even the good old “Buzz” controllers can be used. The gameplay is solid with four different game modes and a finale per round. The players can choose between standard quiz (massive question catalogue) and themed quizzes with a smaller amount of more specialized questions. A feature I really enjoy is that themed quizzes can be created by users with the help of the Askutron quiz editor. So potentially there will be a steady stream of new questions for different topics. At the moment, there are already some quizzes in the Steam workshop. All in all, the game is “you get what you expect” from an indie quiz game. No fancy graphics, not the prettiest user interface, and some occasional bugs, but does the job. It is early access and receives constant updates, so hopefully the weak spots get addressed.

VERY early access. Has a lot of promise though. Needs to streamline the joining process as it took a bit of faff and the environment where this game is going to be played messing around with firewalls and QR codes etc takes away the vibe of a party somewhat. Repeat questions - some are very difficult questions, some are extremely easy. Hope there's some sort of balancing and "grading" of question difficulty based on right answers. Played it over new years and the winners were the ones who got lucky with their guesses instead of "knowing" something - everyone got the easy questions right.

Given the early state of this game, this is really entertaining. I played this with a few friends on one installation using the accompanying Android quiz app. Using the online lobby to find players takes a bit getting used to - just invite using your Steam app if you want to play with Steam friends. Otherwise, you're randomly joining with other players. There are many quizzes and several modes to try. You can download additional quizzes from the workshop and mix them in, voting questions you (dis)like to rank them for other players. I've once had a few issues with the multiplayer mode but one of the developers reached out and resolved the issue. I'd recommend this to anyone that likes quizzing with friends since you can try it offline with friends on one machine as well as through the online lobby. I expect things to break here and there when new features are pushed, but developers are responsive and friendly to resolve this. hallo schon im early access ein sehr gutes quizspiel macht richtig laune klare kauf empfehlung kleine review aktualisierung dazu es ist noch besser geworden die idee gegen geister anderer spieler zu spielen ist ein grossartike idee und noch viel besser als gegen irgendwelche bots macht weiter so dass spiel hat potential
