good game .................. yeah i know i suck at reviews
For some reason, every game that made by this studio is bad, and they all lack something in each game. this one has some bugs, crashes sometimes, you get choked with items immediatelly and even get achievements when youre not supposed to earn???
Nope, a few points: - game crashes when i select 'Settings' in the menu - it is a PC game that uses arrow keys by default, not WASD, the ARROW KEYS - Maybe WASD-keys are used differently, i can't know because 'Settings' crash the game - i cant rebind, because: 'Settings' crash the game - So the default input scheme is: ArrowKeys, X, Z, Mouse I'll think you get it, maybe if this stuff is fixed ill reconsider, for now i'll get a refund
Very bland, empty worlds with little to no polish. Could've been so much more. It feels like its in an Alpha stage. The only good thing about this game is cartoon ASH in the title card.
This game is a gritty and raw pixel platformer that I can recommend!
When you first start up the game it throws you right into gameplay without any difficulty options or anything like that. You could be excused for thinking the game was set to baby mode... and also completely unfinished. The gameworld is really empty early on but you are still allowed to go around exploring, something that adds nothing to the game because of how monotone it gets. You're much better off just going for the main quests as soon as they become available because by doing so the map fills out with new locations and such, a very weird design choice I must say because it drags down the early game a ton having it be mostly empty desert with copy+paste buildings scattered here and there. The balancing is just completely off. Enemies basically hurt you a percentage of health if even that per attack. Your attacks too are very weak, however jumping on enemies Super Mario style does huge damage and is easily the best way to deal with enemies in the sideview sections. You also quickly start swimming in ammo and supplies even before leveling up your scavenging. It wasn't until the four hour mark that enemies started doing some serious damage, but then they also start to swarm you every time you set foot in a car so you can barely move around the map. Those unrelenting attacks keep stopping you since you need to step out of the car to fight, you can't escape and while the cars can shoot they only do so forward and this games has pretty wide arc for turning so good luck hitting a single shot. Multiple quests at the same time? One might break because it thinks both the quest items are one and the same even though they should be totally different objects, but you only got one thing and it ain't giving you another. Quests where multiple areas on the map is said to be shown but there appears no quest markers on the map so you gotta go back and forth while the previously mentioned.

I HIGHLY recommend using a controller, as it worked so much better for me due to the ease of use in menus, etc. Reminds me of: If you liked Mad Max (the movies, the theme, and even the recent game) , there's a good chance you'll like Ashworld. An interesting title for sure - I really like apocalyptic themes, and you don't often see them done so effectively in with such simplified pixels. Ashworld gets the look and feel right, and lets you make up your own story for the most part. It takes place in an open world with a desolate landscapes, filled with dangerous and helpful characters alike. Gas, ammunition, and weapons are in somewhat short supply, but luckily anyone you kill leaves their's for the taking, and you're not going to sort out any issues with words in this game ;) Something that I thought was pretty cool about the game play experience was the open world being top down, and when you're inside a building/cave/facility it switches to being a side-scrolling platformer. It's great to combine different views and aspects like this, especially in a game represented visually by simple pixels. It gives enjoyable depth and variety to the game play. Ashworld is challenging throughout in my opinion, but the side-scrolling platformer bits are especially treacherous. There are traps on the floors, whirling gears with moving platforms, and tons off odd enemies not to happy with your intrusion of their hideouts. As I said before, I really recommend a controller for this game - like an Xbox one with the dual-stick setup. I tried using my Steam controller, and it didn't work particularly well for me, which is unfortunate. I bought the official Steam controller because I thought it would be most compatible while my games, since they are pretty much all on the Steam platform - but I'd say through experience that I prefer the regular Microsoft Xbox-type controllers now because they seem to be so much more preferred by developers, and they tailor their setups to them. I could not for the life of me get my Steam controller's stick to function with Ashworld for any use. I was hoping I could get it to recognize it for directional movement, but it would not, and I instead had to use the D-pad, which is pretty clunky on the Steam controller. I gave the keyboard controls a go too for the hell of it, but I found it very difficult. The main issue is that platformers are just always better played with a controller. There's something about the timing of jumps, and even just the amount of different button pushes that go into properly navigating a 2D platforming world that suits a controller better without question. Add in the need to access menus, equip weapons, and assign skill points in the usual RPG fashion, and you'll agree almost certainly. So I HIGHLY recommend using a controller for sanity's sake, and preferably an XBox controller, as the Steam ones don't cut it. If some update to the game could allow a Steam controller to have it's movement stick recognized, that would be a great improvement for people in my situation ;) Beyond that, everything else flows well, and there's a good time to be had. I wouldn't call this an easy, or casual game by any stretch. There's some real old school challenge to this that is reminiscent of the NES days, where kids would scream and cry and throw their controllers, and go play Pogs instead. But that's okay, and even a great thing if you enjoy a challenge, and not having things spoon fed to you. There are quests to follow, and some pointers are provided, but the learning curve really is a baptism of fire, and you're going to die a lot before you get better. You're also going to crash your 70's muscle car into walls, shacks, and even a few people - but everything is repairable with some scrap ;). If you have the right equipment, and are sound of mind for some varied difficulty, give this one a go. You'll live. You'll die. You'll live again!

Post-apocalypse done right. Mad Max vibes. And the chaos, oh, the chaos... Highly recommended!
Not bad. There's quite a bit the game doesn't tell you, and I got stuck several times scratching my head. But game has its charm. I can see how it can get a bit repetitive, but game loop can be fun enough. Car controls seem a bit unconventional and took me a few mins to get used to it on a game pad. There's room for improvement as with any game. Overall, it's OK. Can have some fun exploring, driving and shooting. Next time maybe add a cheat menu for some extra fun, indestructible cars, unlimited fuel and ammo for some real sandbox mayhem ;)
