Ashi: Lake of Light

Really nice puzzle game, with smooth and relaxing ambiance. The difficulty graduate gently with the level, showing you news mechanics, bit by bit. What I like the most about thoses games is that it's let's you assimilate the mechanics and discover the solution on our own, with little help at the beginning (mini tutorial). It's make you try over and over again to find the solution. I particulary love the path you have to choose at some point (Ying yang, teleport and the combinaison of thoses two!) It's really interesting and challenging. Good work! I definetly recommand this game!

If you love challenging puzzle and zen atmosphere, definitely buy this game. The basic mechanics are interesting and original, they require a bit of trial and error to get used to, but the level sequence is structured in order to gradually test the new elements that get introduced. Many variations and additions keep the game fresh with an increasing level of difficulty that doesn't get hardcore nonetheless (but I reached so far level 32 of 92, I could be wrong). The grapich design is very simple, but well made. My only concern is about the design of the 2-lights and 3-lights lamps: since you see the game from above, the lights piling makes it sometimes difficult to distinguish the two types (at least for me), I would have chosen some other, more intuitive solution. But it's only a minor concern and a very personal one. A very nice puzzle with a good amount of levels for a small price. Go for it. EDIT: I completed the game (wonderful puzzle, I confirm), but it says that I did 90 out of 92 paths. But if I count the levels in the select menu, they're actually 90! Minor bug?

(Played computer version) A relaxing game that's great to go to when you have half an hour free to solve a few more puzzles, The oriental vibe is great, especially the music by David Barber but also the aesthetics. The way new mechanics are gradually introduced makes for a nice difficulty ramp, culminating in quite complex puzzles that can be mentally taxing. I do have a few minor gripes. The button that I assume was meant to reset level doesn't seem to work. You can still do it from the menu so it's a very minor thing. There also appears to be two levels missing, as it says I've completed 90/92, but cannot see any others. A third gripe is that some of the mechanics seemed to be left behind by the end, I would have liked to see them all featuring at the end to create even more complexity with everything that you learned. All in all, I would definitely recommend this game to anyone, and would love to see more games like this. 8/10

Lovely little game, well worth your time for the price and enjoyment factor you'll likely get out of it. I wondered if the game would be too easy, but a level like Demon Spirit stumped me for a good 10 minutes. Got a great a-ha! moment out of it though when I beat it. Lots of little moments like that. Great soundtrack, cozy sfx and a fun puzzle system. Good job all

Very nice casual puzzle game. Gets pretty devious by the end. There's a bug where the completion count thinks there are two more levels than there actually are, which is weird to see in something that's this otherwise polished.

A very cozy puzzle game that was good fun - my only issue with the puzzles came with the gear candles, as moving them around quickly became frustrating. Overall though - clean visuals, excellent vibes, challenging but not overly difficult (i cruised through most of the levels up until around 60) and a nice way to spend a few hours. Worth a good play.

I haven’t finished Ashi: Lake of Light yet, but I’m already in love with it! The glowing landscapes and peaceful atmosphere are stunning—it’s like stepping into a fairytale. The puzzles are just the right level of challenging, and the soundtrack is so calming. As someone who once failed at assembling IKEA furniture (let’s just say I’m not handy), I can confirm this game is way more satisfying than my real-life skills. If you’re looking for a magical and relaxing escape, this is it!
