Fun game, however is lacking in content
Too short, once you're done with your uprgades, it's already over. Interesting concept though.
Pros: Gameplay loop is very satisfying and the leveling up system is fun to use. Animations and art are gorgeous. I had a fun time playing, which I think should be the goal of any video game. Cons: This game desperately needs an upgrade to the sound design during the actual combat phase. Not to say that there are no sound effects, there certainly are, but they're lacking a certain crunch to them that would make the attacks feel so satisfying. I'm not really an expert so I can't really explain it beyond that. Overall I do think the game is worth the asking price, and would recommend it.
It's a tower defense game with a large upgrade tree that never has you feeling powerful. It usually feels like I'm targeting and shooting into mud somehow, despite all the effects. Art style is the biggest positive. Sound effects are mid and defeating enemies lacks impact. The levels being different waves on the same map with slight variations in tower placement means it's tedious. The gameplay is mostly fine except that charge shots often don't register because you're clicking on an enemy or because you clicked and held just before the charge ran out. It makes the game feel very clunky that you can't just hold the mouse button down to charge shot as soon as possible. The story is superfluous and barely present. The upgrade and explanatory text could have done with a grammar and consistency check.
#AshWarden #MgfaStudio #MolterGames #TowerDefense #Incremental #StrategyGame #IndieGame #Gaming #FinalBossProject
Repetitivo y tonto
It is nice for an incremental activity. My issue is I had a power outage mid-run with the archer after having completed it with the swordsman. When the power came back on I launched the activity but it would not start on the menu screen. I verified the files, those were fine, but still would not start. I uninstalled, reinstalled, still would not start. I requested a refund, knowing I would not get it, but hoping it would send up a red flag for the developer there is an issue. Not heard anything from them on what to do. Will change when I get some a solution.
I enjoyed this quite a bit more than I thought. The game isn't that long, and it's all about exponentially increasing the power of your hero as you defend towers from endless enemy spawns. Pretty simple, no story, but very satisfying progression. There is a really solid base here for a larger game overall, but it only took me around 7 hours to 100% it, and that is with idle time. Well worth the cost on sale.
I like this game. The lore is interesting, the art is neat, and the abilities feel helpful. Enemy stats jump quite a bit from day to day, but as long as you're keeping up with the damage and ward upgrades you will be ok. Base game isn't very long, but there are two characters to play as and once you've beaten the game you unlock endless mode. There's probably 5 or 6 hours of content, more if you really get into the endless mode. Even at full price the game is worth it. However, I really wish the target select and channel ability functions were not bound to the same key. It is very irritating when I go to charge up one of the channel abilities but nothing happens because I accidentally clicked an enemy instead. Not to mention that it has literally cost me runs because something survives just long enough to break a tower. Furthermore, I never saw a reason to purchase any of the elemental upgrades you can get for your abilities. They use the Boss resource which is very limited and is also used to purchase new abilities. Why would I spend such a valuable resource on an upgrade which only has an x% chance of actually triggering, when I could buy a new ability which is guaranteed to work? The elemental upgrades should have a 100% chance of triggering.
