The game does have loads of promise but it is rougher than a badger's Ars Notoria at the moment. I'm spending time having to look up how to do stuff on the internet and it's annoying me. It's not intuitive at this stage. For example I'm told to go speak to the quartermaster but she won't speak. I guess I'll have to run the assault course first, but the game isn't clear on that. Then I got stuck in part of the course and couldn't work out how to get past so I'll have to go watch a guide online for that and it's just not that fun. I've been playing games for years and this one is just too infuriatingly odd at the moment. I'm sticking with it - there is loads of promise, It's just vague. Maybe I've got used to games holding your hand, but it is still doing my head in regardless. A bit too early access for my liking, but you might love it. I don't at the moment but will update if I change my mind, and that's always possible.
I love this game, i love everything about it. but the bugs, the client side replication is terrible. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE devs work on it! The game has sooo much potential, from the spell crafting, to the content... the only issue is client replication and the janky bugs.
BUG?
I'm liking it so far :3
Once I started playing this game, it lived up to my expectations, and I’ll definitely keep playing it. However, there are a few aesthetic issues that make me less eager to continue: 1. UI. (1) The colors are too vivid; I think you should add a bit more grayscale, and it would be best to avoid that smooth transition effect. (2) It breaks the immersion. I think this is an extension of the first point. If you don’t want a minimalist UI, I suggest using distinct, grayish colors and adding some textures—such as the surface texture of stone or rust. I believe you should definitely take a cue from games like Outworld and Kingdom Come: Deliverance when it comes to UI design. If you do opt for a minimalist style (such as black with 50% transparency), I think adding some plant textures would be a good choice. 2. Overall Art Style. I think, for now and without making major adjustments, you could add an outline effect and reduce the lighting and reflections on the characters (they really look like plastic). For specific changes, refer to how Kenshi looks after adding comic-style outlines. Please also use simple outlines for interactive items. The overall retro art style combined with golden highlights—oh my goodness, it really breaks immersion. 3. The protagonist’s running animation. The female protagonist’s running animation is way too weird. 4. Attack particle effects. This isn’t magic—it’s just a regular swing, right? Please don’t add so much red light. Just like the golden glow on interactive items, having so many high-saturation effects in a relatively realistic scene is excessive. I think a white light with some transparency would suffice—please don’t overdo it. These effects should be reserved for magic. 5. Summary. Actually, I don’t think the game’s bugs or the design itself are the problem. The game’s somewhat dated art style isn’t an issue either. It’s these jarringly high-saturation colors that make it look like a poorly made game. However, I can sense your efforts to differentiate colors to ensure a comfortable player experience, so I’ve proposed some alternative solutions that, from a player’s perspective, aren’t too difficult to implement. Overall, avoid smooth transitions, lack of texture, and excessively high color saturation. Outlines can solve many of these issues, and it should be relatively easy to find a way to implement them in the code. (I’ve temporarily stepped away from the game after a brief trial run because those highly saturated colors are straining my eyes a bit...) One more thing: Don't keep the music too intense the whole time—switch it up right after the battle ends!
