fun and lots to do.
Veredicto: Vale a pena? Se vale!
A curious take on the VS formula with a cute aesthetic and great music. There is a major flaw here though: All of the weapons are just a 'projectile' (even the melee ones) with different modifiers applied to it, and while it is fun to watch the numbers grow, there is only so much variety you can get out of that, no matter how much you modify those numbers. What makes VS and other VS-likes feel so replayable is how different the weapon types are (as in, they aren't all just a projectile that is fired at the nearest enemy), how they interact with one another, and how they allow for different 'playstyles' to emerge naturally. This game has none of that, and it instead tries to substitute that with 'elements', which are just another number for you to grow. And now that gives rise to the second major flaw: The gameplay just isn't deep enough to warrant the layer of 'resource management' (there are daily and weekly mechanics even?) and the multitude of 'unlocks' locked behind it. Even the rarest of items and/or upgrades don't really change the way you interact with the map and the enemies on it, because there is nothing crucial for them to change. For example, you can 'optimize' your 'build' by pre-banishing certain items from the pool (which can only be done by grinding the randomized sub-objectives and hoping you get the one that gives you resources that you need for this specific mechanic), but that just lets you grow the numbers faster. And this issue applies to the rest of the progression. Good thing this is Early Access though. There's hope this can be improved upon.
One of the best games I've seen come down the pipe in a long time. All the best parts of Diablo: Demons, battle, holy knights, and gore. It has a Van Helsing technological vibe to it that plays in perfectly to the upgrade system. Can't wait for more updates to come and I could give no higher praise for the game's state at release.
very boring for this type of game
The game is fine, just frustrating. So many things to manage and upgrade and turn on and off so that your build pool doesn't become so saturated you can't become strong enough finish a run. And the UI is atrocious when using a controller. Feels like a complete afterthought.
