About

A simplistic dungeon crawling experience with complex ATB battles akin to 90s JRPGs, your success in Ark's Wonder Dungeon's relies on risky resource management in the overworld and assessing equipment in order to assemble a team able to take on any battle headfirst!
With over 200+ combat items to claim and an ever-growing catalogue of events between battles, your greatest strength will be mastery of what's been given.

Ark's Wonder Dungeon has chatty characters who always have something to say about their situation... or one another.
The narrative surrounding the dungeon and the characters shifts as more progress is made through its ringmaster's halls! The dungeoneers' freedom nears with every further run. There are 35+ unique campfire stories that may randomly play out and every story cutscene has accompanying illustrations!
Though the 6 playable characters can shred through small enemies given one utilizes their unique arsenals intelligently, only the most strategic players may overcome the dangerous enraged beasts roaming off the beaten path.
Do you have what it takes to escape?
No, no... the better question is: do they deserve to?

ENG: It’s a very unusual RPG dungeon crawler roguelike with simplistic exploration where we go through rooms, blindly choosing doors: left, center, or right. There we encounter enemies, items, spells, and other things to equip the character(s), who also get unlocked and found in the dungeon. The graphics are very striking with that hand-drawn style, while the story part looks like it was drawn by a 6 year old. Now, everything’s nice, but there’s an important point to note, and that’s the difficulty level. It’s foolproof, so you can’t just build anything and pick spells at random here. If you don’t use skills, secondary effects, and items very consciously, you’re going to have a hard time.
Super cute RPG with a charming MSPaint artstyle. Great value for cost considering replayability.
This game is one of my favorite rogue-likes and is very unique in its style. The game has good but hard balance and a surprising amount of decision and strategy that make it very fun to play. The game and world are re-playable even with set bosses. The music and sound design are good you will grow fond of the things you hear. The story is very fun and rewarding. however it dose not teach you anything and can get boring without direction from the achievements tab. This game is best described as an achievement hunter rogue-like. Hunting achievements helps with the runs because you have to plan how you want to get the achievement. The game is overall a very high 8.5/10 for me. To compare I think its better than risk of rain 2.
Fun roguelike game with a charming art style and a reason to keep replaying it with new items, story, levels and bosses being unlocked with each run. Those who like hunting achievements will be happy. The game stays interesting as you need to start making more optimized builds to beat the secret bosses which require fulfilling certain conditions to meet. It's interesting to play a little indie game like this that has no wiki to give away the secrets, instead relying on the little hints given in-game and a bit of trial and error to figure out how to reach secret levels and bosses. It takes a bit of time to get use to the iconography for buffs and debuffs. You'll be confused for the first few runs but eventually you'll be able to understand everything at a glance. There's in-game manuals describing everything you've uncovered so you can take a bit of time to read them between runs to clear up any confusion.
What if dungeon crawler wherein there was a suspiciously high level of detail placed on the pain and encumbrance mechanics and how that'd promptly impact the rest of the combat scenarios? There's emphasis on emergent scenarios throughout the game, taking advantage of the dissonance between how a character would feel in the moment and how the player should feel in the moment to underline just how painful and potentially traumatic each encounter might be for any given character. As of reviewing I haven't gotten enough ours in to comfortably say if the content inside of it is as meaningful as it let on in my playthroughs, but it's got a confusingly wide spread of content put together in a way that'll make sure you'll only see a small bit of it each time around. It's also surprisingly lax as far as in-combat RNG goes too.
this woulda killed on newgrounds
Fun and surprisingly solid rpg combat system + charming presentation. Kinda feels like it has a huge amount of content to chew through, too, on first impression
havent beaten it but holy ♥♥♥♥ this games so fun. i love the style, i love the character designs (gameplay and visually). you gotta play it.
Been really enjoying this so far; might end up coming back to add more to this review. As it stands, I've only won 1 run after several attempts, and I can see already the depth that this game can reach to. Just looking at the enemy list and how few of them I've even seen and I know I'll be getting more than my money's worth. Also, just really enjoy the art style, and the story is strange and vague enough to keep me interested and looking through various flavor text for more lore. Do recommend.
i have been sucked in to the wonder dungeon like those before me and i do not think i wish to leave
