Pretty Nice Puzzle Game. Without any discount a little bit expensieve but the developer made a good job to create an addiction puzzle fun factor. With achievements and trading cards to collect the prize is okay (Summer Sale Action) Bei Puzzlespielen bin ich immer skeptisch. :-)
Same as the other Arizona Rose game...you like these types of puzzles, you'll like these. If not, you won't. Not much else to say about it. The game-killer for me came when a pop-up ad interrupted my game, which leads to an automatic deletion when that happens, so be warned of that as well. This is the reason for the low play time, if anybody cares.
Pretty decent Picross clone, though the "story" is as bonkers as any old Hidden Object game. Speaking of, there are a few HO scenes included here and there.
Excellent picross with occasional minipuzzles of various types. Helpful touches like highlighting of the cursor's row and column, faded clue numbers for solved groups, disappearing clue numbers for solved rows and columns, and powerups. A bit more difficult than the previous Arizona Rose game; some puzzles are impossible to begin without guessing and risking a mistake, unless one uses a powerup. And if I recall correctly, it advances more quickly to the 20 by 20 board than the previous game does. Hint: Move the cursor while holding a mouse button to select multiple cells (shows selection count too!). While doing so you may click the other button to cancel the selection, so it's handy for counting cells. But be careful, a misclick can rapidly generate many mistakes!
Combo of many different puzzle games. Interesting plot. Recommend.
Arizona Rose and the Pharaohs’ Riddles, developed and published by Anawiki Games, is a puzzle-focused adventure that builds its entire experience around nonogram-style challenges, supported by a light narrative and a handful of additional gameplay diversions. It presents itself as a treasure-hunting journey through ancient Egypt, but in practice, it is primarily a logic puzzle collection framed by an archaeological theme. The result is a game that is easy to approach, consistently engaging in short sessions, and clearly designed with casual puzzle players in mind. At the center of the experience are the nonogram puzzles, which form the foundation of nearly every level. Players are given grids with numerical clues that indicate how cells should be filled to reveal hidden images. These puzzles start off simple, introducing the logic in an accessible way, but gradually increase in size and complexity, requiring more careful deduction and attention to detail. The satisfaction comes from the process itself—slowly narrowing down possibilities and watching an image take shape as each correct decision builds on the last. It’s a well-established formula, and the game executes it reliably without unnecessary complications. To prevent the experience from becoming too repetitive, the game occasionally introduces hidden object scenes and small mini-games between puzzle stages. These segments are brief and generally easy to complete, acting more as pacing breaks than as fully developed mechanics. While they add some variety, they do not significantly alter the overall structure of the game. The primary focus remains firmly on the nonogram puzzles, and everything else feels secondary to that core loop. The narrative follows Arizona Rose, an adventurer investigating a newly discovered Egyptian site filled with mysterious inscriptions. As players progress, fragments of a larger story are revealed, tying the puzzles to the idea of deciphering ancient secrets. However, the story is minimal and largely serves as a backdrop rather than a driving force. It provides context and a sense of progression, but it does not develop deeply enough to become a central highlight of the experience. Most players will likely remain more invested in solving puzzles than in uncovering the narrative. Visually, the game adopts a bright and approachable style that complements its casual tone. The interface is clean and easy to navigate, ensuring that players can focus on the logic without distraction. Completed puzzles reveal colorful images that align with the Egyptian theme, providing a satisfying visual reward for each solved grid. While the presentation is not particularly advanced, it is consistent and effective, supporting the gameplay without drawing unnecessary attention to itself. The pacing is relaxed and player-friendly. There are no strict time constraints, and the game allows for a methodical approach to each puzzle. Mistakes can be corrected, and assistance options such as hints or power-ups are available for players who need them. This makes the game accessible to a wide range of players, from beginners to more experienced puzzle enthusiasts. It encourages steady progress rather than pressure, making it well-suited for casual play sessions. However, the game’s reliance on a single primary mechanic becomes more noticeable over time. While the puzzles are well-designed, the lack of significant variation means that the experience can feel repetitive, especially during longer sessions. The additional mini-games and hidden object sections provide only limited relief, and the overall structure remains largely unchanged from beginning to end. For players who are not already fans of nonograms, this repetition may reduce long-term engagement. Another limitation is the lack of depth beyond its core concept. The narrative remains light, the mechanics do not evolve significantly, and there are few surprises once the player becomes familiar with the gameplay loop. This consistency can be comforting, but it also limits the sense of progression and discovery that might otherwise enhance the experience. Despite these drawbacks, Arizona Rose and the Pharaohs’ Riddles delivers a solid and dependable puzzle experience. It understands its audience and provides a large amount of content built around a proven formula. For players who enjoy nonogram puzzles and are looking for a relaxing, themed collection of challenges, it offers plenty of value. In the end, it stands as a well-executed but unambitious entry in the puzzle genre—consistent, accessible, and enjoyable within its niche, even if it does not push beyond its familiar design. Rating: 6/10
I liked it. The approach to the press-and-hold mechanic was nice. Instead of revealing the tiles as you drag your mouse along, they're revealed after releasing. It allows for a chance to spot mistakes before you make them, which is always welcome in a genre such as this one. Could've done without all the story elements though. Those seemed to drag out far much longer than they needed to. I also wasn't a fan of the pop-up ad. You can decline and have it never ask again, but it made it feel akin to a mobile game. The way the game's displayed is a bit odd too. Felt stretched no matter what I did. I eventually settled on windowed mode since that was what avoided my monitors flickering when tabbing out. Not much of a fan of the power-up related achievements either. For the last power-up, it dragged out a 10x10 board to take like 15 minutes. For these reasons, I can't recommend. Anyway, +1 perfect games!
