Beautiful example of how VR can be used to screen a short movie (or should we say "stage a play"? That seems more like it). The general theme (a heroine discovering her family history while transitioning to independence) is somewhat darker compared to "Allumette" but the cheerful artistic style and the rather sketchy character development still give it a light-hearted tone. Some viewers seem to feel "Arden's Wake" ends in a cliffhanger. Personally I think it does say everything it has to say.
This is not a game. It is a very well done 3d movie. Unlike traditional movies, you can look around at whatever you want, the camera isn't constrained. Only thing I wish they would do is this: 1. have detail levels controllable from within the VR environment. 2. Detail the monster's faces a little more.
Having spots that look like nose holes on an eel is a little weird-- I get it's supposed to look like a Chinese dragon, but it really doesn't look right at all.. and the feet? Fins would make far more sense.
Etkileyici ve güzel bir VR deneyimi... Sizi içine alıp sarıyor ve dokunaklı hikayesini anlamanız için çok fazla bir İngilizce bilmenize gerek olmuyor... Kesinlikle tavsiye ediyoruz... Satın almaya değiyor... An immersive and beautiful VR experience ... It immerses you and you don't need to know a lot of English to understand its touching story ... Definitely recommend ... It is worth the purchase ...
Very beautiful short film. Would've liked some options to change graphics and working index buttons so I don't have to start it with the keyboard but thats very minor. For $8 its worth the money
Muy buena experiencia 👍👍, aunque corta.
This is a poignant short story set in VR, but do keep in mind it is completely non-interactive. Recommended because the story and the animation are so beautifully done, but it is not without issues. Tracked Controller support is an incorrect way to list this because there is no interaction whatsoever, so there is nothing to do with the controllers. The controllers can't even be used to begin the story, you must tap a key on your keyboard. Additionally this lacks proper wide-FOV HMD support, which would have been nice as the story itself is such a lovely little piece of work. Having to limit my FOV to get edge-glitches to disappear is a shame. Finally, for some reason launching this title launches "Rift" software; something I've never seen a Steam VR game do before (I have no Oculus Rift equipment). So keep in mind what you are getting and if a beautifully done short story sounds like your cup of tea then go for it.
Wouldn't start with motion controller, had to use keyboard after taking headset off. Found the story depressing and a bit confusing, unsure what the opening scene with the father swimming down had to do with the rest of the experience? Visualls somewhat spoiled by Index LCD display (murky grey blacks)not faulty of developer as many of these older experiences were developed on Vive Pro using oled display. Finally the scene with the "dragon" underwater was dizzying and disorientating.
Es un historia RV para visionar sin interacción. Entretenida y algo dramática. Con las Oculus quest 2 lo que está lejos yo no lo veía bien, de cerca genial, muy inmersivo.
Not super stoked that it's priced low enough for an impulse buy but the blurb doesn't mention it's non-interactive. I'm doing my best to engage with it on its own terms but I think my mistaken expectations soured it too much for me. Maybe I'll try again later, see if I get further than 5 minutes in.
Trauriger aber toller Film. Im Film kann man sich bewegen Virtuelle Erfahrung. Kein Spiel
