A visual masterpiece...this is the way storytelling should be now that we have the technology to do it. Although it is rather short at 30 minutes, I fully support paying the $8 to watch this very unique film. I look forward to more features from Penrose...
Awesome animated short film and a great use of the medium. Very impressed. I'm looking forward to any future works :)
I got an Oculus Quest 2 and a link cable for my PC this week and this was the first thing that I saw on Steam that I thought I might like, so I picked it up. It was my first experience with my own VR (I tried my girlfriend's VR for 20 minutes some time ago). I'm a little embarrassed because I thought that it was a game, but it's really an animated short. The experience was wonderful for me and I recommend the movie. I was disappointed that the movie didn't come with playback controls. I know it's only a short film, but I had technical issues due to my inexperience and it would have been nice to pause it and to go back to where I left off. All in all, I had to restart a couple of times and watch a good bit of what I'd already seen. Not a horrible thing, but was a little frustrating at the time.
amazing little story that really shows the capbilities of what disney could really amaze us with if they set their fangs on this sort of tech. made me cry. and also reconsider my drin king habits and how it could affect those i love.
Of all the short VR movies I watched -- and I watch pretty much all of them -- I like this one the best. It makes me wish this is turned in to a game and I can control that little submarine.
It's a very sad story. But really well done. It's very interesting the vertical way of telling the action. The water it really helped! :) The monster is the best thing in the story! It gives a good claustrophobic sensation. I just didn't like the use of the flask to reference dad... in the end it was that that saved the character... so it gives us a bitter sweet feeling about it.
Smaug ain't got $#!* on this thing!
