The Awesome Duo Curator Gameplay A largely forgettable protagonist, a story that you won't see outside of the description, and a handful of levels tossed together. I spent an hour playing this, and well it isn't amazing. Yet, I've found myself playing games from Archor Games ever since I played Debie Zone. This is an experience. Much like watching someone learn to walk, or drive a car over the period of several accidents. I get that this might be a test of random ideas hoping one might work, but I definitely notice that there's some degree of effort expanded upon each iteration of this series. Undue praise aside, what is this game like? It's a third person shooter, with some elements of a brawler... But you only kick people or use a takedown. Combat is mediocre at best, awful at worst. Level design mostly fits the idea of tossing things randomly in a 3D plane and hoping it makes some sense to the player. Yet, at least it looks like there's some sense to be had here. The next to final level has you flying a hovercraft, and it controls rather terribly with keyboard and mouse... Yet, I really found the level to be rather appealing from an aesthetic perspective, and a fitting end to a journey that has made zero sense to me whatsoever. This final level was rather well done even if it's basically a casual collection mini-game. Overall, at the end of this experience I'm quite satisfied with myself. This game is not for everyone, and likely not for most people. Despite all of that, I enjoyed it.
For a $1 and under Indie game, your sure to get your moneys worth just messing around and having a good ol time. I mean the games are what they are, but I always get a laugh from them either way. I've even had the opportunity to speak to the dev and they are genuinely a great person and honestly a talented developer. So if you enjoy quirky, goofy, meme like kind of game that can make ya laugh then def give these a try for sure :)
ARCH STONE vs The Zombie Specters is another Archor Games classic. You play as ARCH STONE, a tactical blue sweater enthusiast, out to save the world from a virus outbreak. Equipped with an array of powerful weapons, strong knee attacks, intense vehicles, and the all important blowmo button (press 'b' for blow motion), you will wade through mercs and specters to get to the end of levels. I enjoyed my time with this game and am always looking forward to see what the developer is working on next (they have been cotninually upping their game and its great to experience). p.s. the music is always great.
