A forsaken gods-nál ezerszer jobb.
GOTHIC 6: ARACANIA FALL OF SETARRIF - скажу прямо, в детстве пропустил легендарные серии игр Gothic, ArcaniA и Risen! Dragon Age: Veilguard
ArcaniA: Fall of Setarrif is a standalone expansion to ArcaniA, developed by Spellbound Entertainment and later distributed by THQ Nordic as part of modern re-releases. Released in 2011, the expansion continues the storyline introduced in ArcaniA and focuses on the consequences of the events that concluded the main campaign. Rather than offering a massive new open world, the expansion provides a smaller and more focused adventure centered around the troubled city of Setarrif and the lingering threat of demonic forces that still plague the region. The story begins shortly after the climactic events of the main game. Although the demonic entity responsible for much of the chaos in Argaan appears to have been defeated, its essence survives and escapes toward the city of Setarrif. This coastal stronghold soon becomes the center of a growing crisis as reports of strange disturbances and supernatural corruption spread among its inhabitants. Meanwhile, tensions between the ruling powers of the island escalate, with armies gathering near the city and political alliances becoming increasingly fragile. In response to these developments, the king sends the protagonist—the same hero from ArcaniA—to investigate the situation and eliminate the demonic presence before it can fully manifest again. As the hero approaches Setarrif, he finds the region in turmoil. The city itself is effectively isolated, surrounded by military forces and plagued by internal unrest. Demonic influences spread through nearby lands, twisting both creatures and people into hostile threats. The protagonist must navigate this dangerous situation while uncovering the truth about the demon’s new plan. Along the way, players encounter several returning characters from the Gothic universe, some of whom even become temporarily playable during certain story segments. These moments offer a slightly different perspective on the unfolding conflict and allow players to experience the crisis from multiple viewpoints. Gameplay in Fall of Setarrif remains largely consistent with the mechanics introduced in ArcaniA. The game uses a third-person perspective and focuses on real-time combat that blends melee attacks, ranged weapons, and magical abilities. Players can wield swords, bows, and staves while also casting spells powered by magical energy. Combat emphasizes timing and positioning, encouraging players to block enemy attacks, dodge incoming strikes, and counter with powerful combos. While the combat system is relatively straightforward compared to deeper RPG mechanics found in older Gothic titles, it still provides satisfying action during encounters with groups of enemies. Character progression carries over from the base game, allowing players who import their existing hero to continue developing their abilities. Experience points gained from combat and quests can be spent on skill upgrades that improve weapon proficiency, magical power, and defensive capabilities. Because many players begin the expansion with an already powerful character, the gameplay often emphasizes challenging battles and exploration rather than building a character from scratch. The expansion introduces several new pieces of equipment and additional enemy types. Players encounter familiar fantasy creatures such as undead warriors and trolls, as well as enemies influenced by the spreading demonic corruption. New weapons and armor sets can be discovered throughout the adventure, giving players stronger tools to face the increasingly dangerous threats that emerge near Setarrif. These additions provide some variety, although the overall gameplay remains closely tied to the systems introduced in the main game. One of the most noticeable differences between Fall of Setarrif and ArcaniA is the structure of exploration. Instead of a large interconnected island filled with towns and open landscapes, the expansion focuses on more confined environments such as caves, ruins, and volcanic regions surrounding the city. Many sections of the game take place in underground dungeons or heavily scripted areas that guide the player toward the next objective. While this design creates a more focused narrative experience, it also reduces the sense of freedom that players often expect from fantasy RPGs. Visually, the expansion continues to use the same engine and graphical style as the original game. The environments feature dramatic landscapes filled with jagged cliffs, molten lava flows, and ancient ruins corrupted by supernatural forces. Lighting effects and environmental details help create a darker and more ominous atmosphere compared to the brighter landscapes of the base game. Although the graphics show their age by modern standards, the art direction still succeeds in portraying a fantasy world on the brink of destruction. The soundtrack reinforces the game’s atmosphere through orchestral compositions that accompany exploration and combat. Music shifts between quiet, mysterious melodies in abandoned ruins and intense themes during battles with powerful enemies. Environmental sound effects—such as the rumbling of volcanic activity or the echo of footsteps in underground caverns—help build tension as players progress deeper into hostile territory. One of the most commonly discussed aspects of Fall of Setarrif is its relatively short length. The entire expansion can typically be completed within several hours, making it feel more like a concluding chapter to the main story rather than a full RPG campaign. While this shorter structure allows the narrative to move quickly toward its conclusion, some players may find that the limited exploration and reduced number of side quests make the adventure feel somewhat constrained. Despite these limitations, the expansion does succeed in tying together the remaining story elements from ArcaniA. The final confrontation with the demonic forces threatening Setarrif provides a sense of closure to the narrative arc that began in the main game. For players invested in the world of Argaan and its characters, this final chapter offers a satisfying resolution to the conflict that has shaped the region. Ultimately, ArcaniA: Fall of Setarrif functions as a compact continuation of ArcaniA’s storyline rather than a fully independent RPG experience. Its action-focused combat, atmospheric environments, and narrative conclusion provide a few additional hours of adventure for players who enjoyed the base game. While the expansion’s linear structure and limited scope prevent it from reaching the scale of larger role-playing titles, it still serves as a meaningful epilogue to the events that reshaped the Gothic universe. Rating: 7/10
buon gioco
It's okay as a finishing touch after the main Arcania
