Playing this while drunk was the most confusing but beautiful experience... It’s Magic Carpet but for pedophiles, or just with bears instead of balloons. It is basically a partially finished Magic Carpet. Man that was a great game. Gave me some of the worst trauma of my life, but was pretty great! Think of this like the dollar store version of it. It’s fun, and glitches out like s**t, but controlling that s**t with a controller is ass cheeks. I really hope this goes somewhere and doesn't get stuck in developer hell. *Early Access since January 28, 2014* HOLY S**T…………….
Arcane Worlds
Failure to launch Booting up Arcane Worlds, a Magic Carpet inspired game in early access since January the 28th 2014, it becomes immediately apparent that you are dealing with incompetetence as the player is greeted with four options (Boss Fight/Story/Progress and Sandbox) where two of the options (Progress and Story) are still listed as alpha works in progress nearly eight years later. While the developer seems to sporadically fix a few things here or there or address a bug or two every couple of years, this is simply not fast enough. Paying customers didn't purchase said game under the guise that it would get some attention every couple of years or so. I get that life is often happening around some of these wannabe indie game developers but if you can't put your heart and soul into your creations (because they are essentially your babies) then you shouldn't be doing game development at all. Without a clear and concise roadmap, the developer can string people along continuously and that appears to be what is happening here. I also noticed that when people start asking the hard questions then a whole manner of excuses start to surface (like cats getting sick or dying that halt progress for three years) . Get your sh*t together or simply get out! And to all the apologists who feel obliged to answer for this developer's incompetence, did he promise you a fortune somewhere in the future? Cleary game development is not this person's forte and they should simply just stick to their day job because this is another failed early access experiment. Avoid! Avoid at all costs. This game is in early access forever.
Bought it 5 years ago, barely changed. Definitely not finished
An empty world that makes you understand the true meaning of ABANDONWARE.
Abandonware: Last Update was "Mon, December 21, 2020 - Update 0.46" Considering that since 2017 or so practically nothing happened regarding development, abandoning the game was probably the right decision. Misleading any potential customers about the Early Access status is not. Developers can retire games that are no longer under development. So, current status: Scam.
If you're looking for a Magic Carpet fix, this is not it. Purchased through the Meteorite bundle on Indie Royale back in 2014. The game has gone from being an idea to a more optimised idea in the space of 6 years. This game is definitely not a passion project for Ranmantaru Games / Alexey Volynskov. Hardly any progress has been made, there's no story, plenty of game breaking bugs and bad sound effects (the music is exempt as it sounds good, like it was performed by someone with vision, though not specifically for Arcane Worlds). I have no clue what the demo is like as the main game can't even be considered one yet... Do not buy! Keep your nostalgia and wait until Magic Carpet is remade properly in the future.
The fact that ♥♥♥♥ like this is left available for purchase through Steam should piss everyone off. I stopped buying games in early access BECAUSE of crap like this. I've purchased this "game" (Puke) a decade ago. Valve needs to do something about cash grabs & abandoned games. This ♥♥♥♥ turns people off from supporting games in early access from developers who actually give a ♥♥♥♥.

Don't do it. Just don't. Awful and abandoned game.
