Arcadia is a fun, casual little shooter. There are a variety of enemies that will hunt you down, and a few little tactics you can use to take them down. Try to get the best score and stay on top of the leaderboard. The game is played from a top-down perspective.

Beware this game is broken and unplayable you can't use any controller to play this game and there is no key binding options or anything to fix that problem, the game was out for years and won't be updated so don't keep your hopes up for a fix
The game has many flaws. Gameplay, replay value and controls are rather bad. If you are thinking this is like Geometry Wars you will be very disappointed. In my opinion not worth your money.
Before Greenlight and Early Access, this was the first piece of true shovelware I remember making it onto Steam. I was baffled as to how it actually made the cut. In a way, it was inspirational at the time; if something like this can get onto Steam, a guy like me can still dream, right? There's no way to describe this game other than "Crappy Geometry Wars". You mindlessly shoot hilariously unbalanced enemies that will fly at you from the sides of the screen and kill you before you can dodge. There's one broken achievement, the score doesn't even display properly (19,000 displays as "19,0"), and the game doesn't even remember your high score. The game even received a steady stream of updates for a few years, which somehow made it even worse. The one positive thing I can say about this game is that it introduced me to "Surface" by Dimrain47, a great piece of music.

5min of this game (a little bit of all 4 songs and all 4 modes) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VQouJKjvJRA -Note-If this game detects a controller it will not run right unplug it! This is a bare bones shmup. The main draw is the music and you will enjoy the game until the songs "get old" There are 4 songs now (when i got this there was 1) so you can swap them out when your sick of one. There are 4 modes of play though they are more or less the same thing and they are casual (gets steadily harder), chaotic (starts out hard), pivot (you can't move), & time attack (instead of a score you see how long you can survive). As your score goes up you'll get 1-ups also your shots will get faster then split into 2's then 3's (not sure if there are 4's as i never lived that long) and your special will shoot out in a circle around you. Your lives and specials are show in the upper left as dotes for lives and squares for specials and if you die your specials will be refilled back to 3. There are only about 6 enemies in the game bubbles (chase you), big bubbles (when shot splits into 8 small bubbles), purple squares (when shot shoots a piece in 4 directions), green squares (will avoid shots), yellow squares (will also avoid shots), & red circles with shield (the shield will reflect shots). Controller support is a lie! yes you can have one and it kinda works but you'll be playing with the keyboard and mouse. With a xbox controller you can move with the analog stick but you'll need to enable auto fire cause there is none on the controller, also by default you'll face right but to face left you need to hit back on the other analog stick, then up, & down are your trigger buttons, then there is no diagonal option. Even having a controller plugged in will destroy your controls so you'll need to unplug it to play.
Really incredible that an arcade style game like this doas not support the MS 360 pad: You can move but not rotate your ship. With mouse/keyboard controls also unplayable - keys far too sensitive: you will crash all the time. ...and the vector style graphics (apart from the grid) are really minimalistic. Think Tempest without all the fancy colors...
A Geometry Wars knockoff with broken controls. Avoid this even during the sales. The game had promise. Unfortunately it's unplayable in its current state. The "partial controller support" is a joke and I have no clue how that manages to remain on the store page or how this game hasn't been pulled from Steam. Maybe if they pulled it then the dev would get around to fixing it.
Very little actual content, even for its low price. Controls broken beyond repair. Don't purchase/install this, even if it was F2p I'd still not recommend it. 0/10
I see all these negative reviews complaining about lack of support and replay value, but I just want to say that despite its problems, this game is really fun for the 2$ I paid for it on sale. The gameplay gets pretty intense, especially late in a round when tons of enemies are spawning, and it's an enjoyable challenge figuring out how to best kite and kill enemies and when to use bombs and such. When you buy this game, be aware what you are paying for. Arcadia is a casual shooter (As clearly mentioned) that is not meant to entertain you for long periods of time like other games. This game is fun to play on and off when you don't have time for other deeper games, and it fulfills that goal excellently. Don't buy this game if you are looking for a hardcore game to sink many hours into to beat or to become the best at it. Whether this game is being actively updated or not isn't really relevant. The game mechanics are solid and very entertaining in a casual situation, and I'm happy having given a one time payment of 2$ and receiving the end product I got. One point that I want to given special mention to is the music in this game. Hearing the music in this game is like half the experience of playing this game. The dev of this game put together an awesome soundtrack for this game, which ends up making it extremely relaxing and enjoyable to play. The music in this game is techno and trance from Newgrnds (Steam censors the full site name for some reason), so if you like that kind of music you'll probably enjoy this game As the description clearly states, "Arcadia is a fun, casual little shooter." And that's exactly what you get when you buy this game. Hardcore gaming experience for hundreds of hours of evolving gameplay, no. Fun 2d bullet-hell shooter with awesome music that's worth a few bucks, yes.
Fun and fast "twin-stick" shooter with a killer soundtrack. It's a very simple game, similar to Geometry Wars but with less intense graphics. It's pretty much mainlined hardcore shooting and doesn't try to be anything it's not - the price reflects this. There are several different game modes and you can tweak the settings of the game like color and autofire, but it all really boils down to how long can you survive against the coming onslaught of endless enemies. Trust me, you'll die. Pros: Solid Gameplay Cool Customizations Awesome Soundtrack Quirky and Cool Graphics Cons: Only Viable for Pickup/Putdown Gaming No Integrated Leaderboard Support - Must Use Steam Client Terrible Gamepad Support (Big con for a twin-stick shooter) If you're looking for a shooter fix and like it hard and fast (just like your music) pick up Arcadia. [-] • Globalement mal foutu.
