I played a lot on another platform and I'd like to add my points to the game.
Music
The game has excellent score. Worth a praise, it is totally in tandem with the game and there are many tracks in the game to reflect upon that.
Gameplay
The gameplay is top-notch. You can make yourself at home with this, especially if you love the genre as a whole. It will reward your playtime put in.
Graphics
Mind-blowing, to say the least. All the small details are fine-tuned and hand-crafted.
Acts and Eras
The game is divided into 12 Eras within 3 Acts. Each Act Transition is followed by an (optional) culling, which determines who are in the lead. Only the greatest of you survive through the Acts and get enough Fame to finish the game first!
Crafting
Crafting is extensive, exhaustive and expansive and is always improved upon through the ages. From humble Feasts, Biscuits, Furniture to Computers, all have their place in history!
Triumphs
And my favourite part of the game. If you construct a Triumph, it is celebrated by your people. All stop in awe, they wonder and astonish by the marvel of magnificent builders you have!
Verdict

A history worth living through.
14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Aug 31: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

Szenzációs a játék gratulálok a játék készítőinek.
💬Ara History Untold is the crown jewel of the 4X strategy game and a worthy competitor to Civilization. From the first announcements of Ara, i was curious if this title would be able to shake up the hegemony that is the Civ series. Mechanically, it's a 4X strategy game, but the developers have added a few fresh twists 🎮Oxide Games, the studio behind Ara is a small but ambitious team with extensive technological experience. One of the co-founders is Dan Baker, who was the lead graphic architect at Firaxis before and worked on Sid Meier's Civ series. Thanks to their partnership with Microsoft, Oxide gained significant financial and technological support, allowing them to develop the new Nitrous engine, capable of supporting thousands of units simultaneously - critical for a strategy game of this scale. The studio is also known for its meticulous attention to historical accuracy which was accomplished by consulting and involving experts and testers from different cultures. This has ensured that the game offers an excellent experience and a test for history buffs, reflecting diverse perspectives on civilization's development. Despite the fact that both games belong to the same 4X strategy category, Ara with its innovative features that help to differentiate it from Civilization is still the sole one to get the most attention. Traditional hexagons on the map have been replaced with regions and that is one of the most peculiar changes in the game. This shift affects how players conduct affairs in their cities and employ military forces; thus, it makes Ara even more closer to the history where there goes an open end for players and their own paths to civilization's development even if these are not based on real events. Oxide wants players to feel like they're creating their own unique worlds, not simply progressing through levels and playing roles based on historical trends. The plot and aims in Ara are very different and at the same time, highly reliant on our choices. What really caught my attention was that Ara lets gamers take over the development of a civilization fully from ancient days to a far-off day in the future. The main point of the story is besides technological development but also cultural, political, and military decisions which affect the destiny of the whole world. The game is segmented into three major acts, with each one covering four technological eras. We have to balance progress with exploration, deciding which technologies to work on now and which to postpone. In my opinion, one of Ara's major advantages is the Encarta system, a huge repository that acts as an interactive historical encyclopedia. It provides extensive information on rulers, inventions, and occurrences so that we can actually feel part of the game's environment. The totality of historical data and game mechanics multiplies the impact of every strategic choice and the player's participation. We would be able to play around with various methods of civilization management. Military conquest, cultural growth, or technological progress could be our areas of concern - we would always have to keep in mind that every choice comes with its own set of consequences, and this would, in turn, give us a feeling of great responsibility. The game also features a very comprehensive random event system that has been incorporated, it has been a crucial aspect of the game, making the players adapt to the new political and social scenarios. The absence of a regular technology tree is, in my view, one of the main factors that set the game apart from Civ. However, players can choose technologies in a very flexible way according to their location and the needs of their state. For instance, you may plan to develop farming in the coastal areas or give priority to military tech in the mountains. As a case in point, if we bring our civilization up close to the water, we will be able to find out about sailing and fishing sooner and with less difficulty. This method creates an entirely new game each time because the map generator is random and we are not really sure what we will find most of the time. Ara is unfortunately not perfect. In my opinion, a significant problem is the rather complicated learning curve. The absence of a classic technological tree and the unorthodox map method may be considered as hard to cope with, particularly when it comes to situation understanding. Though the Encarta system and a lot of tutorials provide assistance, novices might feel swamped because of the variety of options and tactical choices. The user interface gives an impression of not being very well thought out; however, after a few dozen minutes, I did not have the same problems as at the start. Nonetheless, the music proved to be one of the most significant advantages. A sumptuous orchestral score that varies with the on-screen action was the choice of the developers. The composers worked hard to fit the pieces into various historical times, which added another layer of ambience to the respective games. At times, it was even a pleasure to listen to it all. 👍Strengths. - An innovative system of regions rather than hexagons provides more realistic management of territories. - The absence of a conventional technology tree results in more dynamic civilization evolution. - An extensive Encarta system that enriches the gameplay with educational and narrative historical information. - Excellent graphics with a wealth of detail, especially visible when zooming in on the map. - A lush orchestral score that varies according to the era and the on-screen action. - Flexibility in shaping the gameplay: the ability to choose different development strategies and customize your civilization. 👎Weaknesses. - For less experienced strategy fans, the overwhelming nature of the game with all its decisions and scale can be challenging. - The learning curve is very steep for new players. - Slow gameplay, especially at the beginning, which can irritate more impatient players. - At the beginning, many decisions seem insignificant, and the game takes a long time to get going. 🏁Summary. Ara History Untold is an ambitious game that has the potential to attract both fans of classic strategy games and new players. While it's not without its flaws, its innovative approach to 4X mechanics and attention to historical detail make it worth giving it a try. Playing Ara will give you the feeling of building your own world, full of unique decisions, but also of crafting your own story. One that no one else has experienced and one that will change the course of events. You'll find many interesting solutions here, and I think it's such a large, multi-dimensional, and complex strategy that you'll need at least a dozen or so hours to fully understand how everything works. I highly recommend it to fans of the genre. 🎯8/10
Uh.... what...? Very pretty, but thats about it. Military is still SO dumb. Cant upgrade units in reserves, have to call them up, upgrade, then reform or whatever. Dumb mechanic. One example of many, maybe they will update the game and make it to the expectations they set their audiance with before launch, maybe not, but all this time later and the game is basically unchanged. Theres no way around turn limit, the second you get to the modern ages the game just ENDS. save your money and keep up to date with it, once people have said "yeah its where it needs to be" then buy on a sale. Shame on the devs for releasing such a skin and bones game, needed MUCH more cooking time.
I get to about turn 500 and then my food stores resets to zero (both the stored and per turn amount). This prevents me from building anything and I can't continue with the game.
Way better than Civ VII.
The game I bought, version 2, was so bad with such awful micromanagement I couldn't even play it. But, I went to steam settings and turned on access to betas and got version 2.1. Soooooo much more sane. Not the absolute awfulness version 2 was. If you're miserable playing this game, get the beta version. It's much better without such stupid micromanagement.
It's an itch that Civ can't quite scratch for me, and I love it. For those who *don't* want to micromanage and min/max city output, you will not want to play after your 3rd settlement. For those that *do* like to micromanage and optimize settlements/cities/buildings, then you'll love this. In my mind, it's like Civ 6, move adjacency bonuses to regional bonuses/synergies with buildings/construction, and sprinkle in some (a lot) of (forgive my nomenclature) "tier-crafting". Think, "I need this far to gather spices, then I need another farm to get grain, build a bakery and use that grain to accelerate the output and then assign it as an amenity for whichever city needs it most". It's a great game, with some performance issues. I play on high/ultra and it can get choppy zooming out quickly and in, but it's a turn based game so it doesn't impact playability in my opinion. Try it out, it's good fun. My only two gripes are sometimes battles are a pain in the ass to initiate, and I prefer a much more realistic representation of historical characters. I was NOT a fan of Civ VI art style, but it grew on me. Same with Ara. Play for two hours and if you don't like it, refund it :)
The most disappointing aspect is the lackluster choice of leaders to play. Micromanagement and combat are okay, but diplomacy needs work. The devs need to make some more changes or add more to gain a larger player base
As a fellow civilization, colonization, cities skyline strategy builder, I am pleasantly surprised how good, addicted game is. AI git so much better after December update. Difficulty is much higher, but not artifically. Ai attacks , act in a very human way. Thumbs up. For me civilization killer.
