The visuals are passable, it got the vibe of an early PS2 game, but there's nothing particularly impressive about them. The overall presentation suffers badly due to the completely lifeless animations of the racers who actually play "bumper cars" instead of actually racing. As for the gameplay—it’s downright frustrating at times. especially freestyle mode. Controlling the jet ski feels clunky and punishing, and the unpredictable waves on certain tracks make races feel worse than they actually are. You never know if a wave will send you crashing into a sign, flying through the air or if you'll barely scrape by. The AI? Utterly chaotic. With eight racers crammed onto mostly narrow courses, it becomes a demolition derby and you're playing more "bumper cars" than anything else. The bots don’t seem to care about winning—they just want to ruin your race and sometimes even skip some buoy. They'll ram into you, spin you around, and generally make the experience infuriating especially on smaller racing tracks that contain 5 laps. Combine that with broken physics and you end up with a game that feels more like punishment than fun. Freestyle mode is by far one of the dumbest modes I've ever played and they're not even fun. There are various tracks and stunts that you can perform tricks on with your jet, but some of them cannot be performed properly because, once you have done so, you sometimes enter a "cooldown" mode where you are unable to perform any tricks. Why is there a 'cooldown' mode in a freestyle trick event? You also don't see the other racers; instead, you face their imaginary points on the score board. This means you're trying to be number one while the other names on the scoreboard magically get more points without you seeing them. It's frustrating on so many levels, and I don't see why anyone would want to play this mode. However, you have to in order to get 100% achievements. The game modes are nothing special either—standard racing tournaments and a freestyle mode where you pull off stunts to rack up points, only to be outscored by blatantly cheating AI. There are also supposed challenges from famous athletes, but these just boil down to dull races or uninspired time trials. And yes, there’s a multiplayer option, but good luck finding anyone willing to play this mess with friends. It was dead on arrival.
Conclusion
Ultimately, this game had potential, but the A.I. is unfair in every game mode. It offers nothing special to set it apart from other games and is worse in almost every aspect. The soundtrack is really good, but that doesn't help with the frustrating freestyle events involving cooldown timers and a relatively hard AI to fight against, not to mention all the bots who would rather play bumper cars than actually race.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Aqua Moto Racing Utopia is surprisingly fun for those who like fast races on the water. The controls feel smooth and the variation in circuits keeps it interesting. Graphically it may not be groundbreaking but it gives a nice old-school impression, this together with the water and the speed ensure a nice gaming experience. The different locations offer nice variation, and the championships provide a nice sense of progress. Ideal against friends or for those who fancy a short, relaxing racing session with just enough challenge and atmosphere. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gQLse0CB1fg
I'm not going to go into insane details about why this game sucks, as I'm not a paid reviewer. I AM a gamer since the late 1970's. And this game just isn't fun. Jet Moto came out in the PS1 days and is infinitely more fun (granted not a 1:1 comparison given the futuristic jet bikes in that title). WaveRace hit during the N64 days and is more fun. Splashdown made a...splash on the PS2. And it was infinitely more fun. All those titles handled way better than this game. So it is boring. The handling model sucks. And the graphics are sub-par. Seriously, look elsewhere. This isn't worth your TIME even if it was FREE. There are too many better games out there to take up your valuable time.
Aqua Moto core gameplay is wrong
Let me preface by saying that i have played and finished many racers, this one included. From its short campaign with different championships to the challenge mode. I think ive seen and understood it well enough to state this: Aqua Moto is a poorly realized racer that focuses on aspects that are the antithesis of fun and challenge It obvious delivers at a lower budget level, a polished and consistent title, but that would be an extra over its gameplay. Which is one of the worst takes on jet-skis/water related racers ive played so far. Being painfully Slow is the main trait Design forces it to be that way.

Ai boxes you at the starting line and dictate the pace early race. by blocking space and pushing you off corners.
Level design is cramped with buoys often placed in slalom patterns or with tight corners, forcing you to slow down for most of the race
Jumps dont give a speed boost if anything you loose speed. instead stunts in the air fill a meter for a boost that feels underwhelming.
Deep water stages forces you to constatly let go of the trothle as not to catch big air and go over buoys or even off the track. This is probably the only game i know, where level design fights and punishes big air stunts.
If you've ever played Waverace Blue Storm, which is a worse version of Waverace because the physics aren't as good? Well, this is a worse version of that game. It's not so bad that I wouldn't recommend it. I forgot how much I paid but it definitely feels like an under $10 game.
Para un rato está bien, pero nada como Wave Race 64.
5/10 its ok + tricks - one of the levels has a jank map and was never properly telling me what place i was in. finished 1st and it said i was in 2nd place.... + local co-op would get on sale
its modern waverace
