About
You wake up in the middle of a bizarre, unsettling forest with no recollection of your past. Armed with nothing but a flashlight and an old cassette player, you must navigate through the wilderness, seeking clues to regain your lost memory. As you explore, your heart rate slowly begins to rise, filling you with dread.
Your only hope comes in the form of six cassette tapes scattered throughout the forest. Each tape contains cryptic, anonymous messages that provide fleeting moments of clarity and calm your pounding heart. But with each tape you find, the forest grows more hostile, and the trees seem to close in on you as if they’re watching your every move.
Can you survive long enough to piece together your forgotten past, or will the forest consume you?

So...something something, dead wife...tried to bring her back but failed...you're leaving yourself abrasive messages on cassettes...and the trees want you dead for some reason...have I got all that right? Ok good. This is a pretty standard slender-like, only with tapes instead of pages. They're all over the woods, but you can sometimes see their red sparkles from a distance. The health system is actually neat! Your heart-rate gradually climbs as you walk around, and getting attacked causes a big spike...the higher it gets, the more your vision gets messed up...If it gets too high you die, but collecting a tape will lower it. The monsters are trees with perpetual "I'm about to sneeze" faces, they're scattered around the forest, but don't seem to actually move/chase you, they just smack you if you get too close...however they're actually easy to avoid, as they have distinctive greenish bark that's unlike any other trees...so if you see green bark, just go way around it. This is a VERY short game, if you avoid the trees, you can probably win it in 5ish minutes. I won't lie and say this game's a masterpiece, but I wanted "something quick and spooky" out of this, and that's what I got.

https://youtu.be/EzLzIyzWqp0 Pretty fun game! Once you get the hang of it you'll finish it in just a couple of minutes, but it's free, so why not give it a try! Click the link above to see my (no commentary) gameplay

"Anonymous Messages" is a basic asset flipped first person horror adventure game. Apparently you decided to go to a haunted forest, and then called yourself and left yourself some messages to remind you that the forest is haunted as well as asset flipped. Wander around, get jumpscared. I was definitely given a frightening shock... when I saw Valve was letting games this bad onto Steam. Not every "free" game really is. There's often MTX, or content locked behind DLC, or donations being requested, or any other number of things that could mislead gamers, but in this case I'm glad to say this really does appear to be a fully free game. Nothing demonstrates a developers belief in themselves and their work than giving it away without any remuneration. This is a service to themselves, and the gaming idustry, and should be applauded. Of course, just because something is free, doesn't necessarily mean it's valuable. Bearing in mind that free games don't add +1 to your game collector count, should you bother adding this to your library and downloading it? Not this time. This isn't worth downloading. It's just an asset flip/tech demo. While this won't cost youany money, you get what you pay for, and sometimes, that's nothing.
