Don't waste your time trying this; it doesn't run properly. Absolute dog poop performance. This game is 17 GBs, for one, and is made in Unreal, and is totally completely not optimized at all, and will turn your computer into a fried potato. The lighting rendering is literally the worst thing I have ever seen in a game, especially coming from Unreal. The concept woulda been neat if I could fricking play the game. All I could do was walk into the first closet in the room, and then I could not even tell where the monster was based on its sounds. The locational sound system is poop and unhelpful and inaccurate. Overall this was a disappointing experience. I was actually looking forward to try this silly game, but oh well. PRO TIP: Don't use Unreal to make your first game. I'm imagining this was a game jam project - props to you, but like.. don't post this on Steam when it can't even run at 1080p. You don't even have graphics or audio options in the menu. There is no ESC menu, lol.
Edit: A LOT of the issues below have been fixed, and thanks to more extensive menus it makes the game much easier to play and even enjoy. There is currently no major issues with the game and I was able to play quite a bit until I gave up. It is a fun little horror game that ramps up in difficulty making the climb to the top a high in itself, worth a quick play. Currently there are only a few qualms so I'll give my thoughts on those after what it currently does right. What it does right: > Easy mechanics, no buttons just gestures to open the doors and find the doll > Each time you find the doll, there is a noticeable jump in difficulty which was very nice trying to get up there in rounds > The flashlight cutting out is disorienting but does add to the experience. There is no moonlight or ambient light so it does make it harder > The ability to turn off background ambiance is such a nice feature I can't help but wonder why other games don't do it. Silence can build enough tension to raise a bridge and the ability to add that here is worthy of praise on its own > Because of the some of the issues I genuinely hated the jumpscare. The lack of clear mechanic on how the demon finds you makes a particular kind of tension that I haven't felt in a long time, thanks for that My qualms: > The hallway is too thin for the doors so when trying to go right you need to backtrack to let the door close > You can't see the enemy. It isn't an issue at all, especially in a game where you never want to see it but the demon can't open doors and the sound makes it hard to triangulate where the demon is > The sound is not very fleshed out in terms of 3d space. The sound menu is awesome but the demon's position is hard to listen for when he's far away. You can only hear it when it's walking the section of hallway outside the room you're in > The phone text is on a timer not a "press any key". I kinda felt stupid with that one > You can not tell what the sight or detection range of the demon is nor can it open doors, so the only safe space is the closet which can be a bit annoying at late game as the demon gets harder (I got beaned as I went into the closet after a pickup) Original: This game need so much work. First off the performance needs a definite overhaul, some other big issues: >FIXED: It drops frames constantly and its almost like I'm lagging in a single-player game >FIXED: If you play on budget hardware I pray for your pc >FIXED: The sounds do not kick-in until after you enter a closet which is jarring to say the least >WIP: The map is too big and the sounds are too quiet so you cannot properly judge getting into another closet just by listening before the mean man makes a b-line for you. It doesn't help that you can't run >FIXED: The lighting is harsh and there's a weird visual affect that's like motion blur but worse If it gets polished and the main gameplay loop is locked down I think it will be one hell of a game. I love hide and seek type games and the horrid fear of being chased so I look forward to seeing what this'll become.
Strange for this short game eats 17gb storage , but hey it has few days , looks decent for new gameplay. Anyway , need many improvements.... 1. Setup " Esc " to get a menu for some adjustements " audio video" 2. Make room's little more smooth lights or modify npc texture with some fluorescent 3. Obstacles will be a funny thing here if you can pickup them For sure list can continue , but step by step this game will grow up if dev really wanna push it up !
I definitely recommend this game for anyone considering giving it a go. It is a very heart pounding experience for those looking for something intense to play. It has creepy visuals combined with scary audio and the hide and seek element is actually quite fun. I know some people below mentioned problems with the game but those have been fixed and I didn't encounter issues.
Game kept crashing after I got to finding the doll like 3 or 4 times. Seems to crash at around there. So that is why a video on this game is not up on my channel. There is no error message that pops up though just quits to desktop. Still recommend it as it kind of revives the slender aspect. The more dolls you collect, the more aggressive the demon becomes. A lot like slender. Might try to play again in the future maybe just a bad windows configuration like specific drivers or something. Will update this review if I end up trying it again.
why does this ♥♥♥♥ cost money now

Great game, worth the $3. Gives you a good scare. Would recommend if you like jump scares.
