and Roger is an interactive novel that lets you see through the protagonist's eyes—whether what she sees makes sense or not. It is comprised of three chapters and can be played in its entirety in about one hour.
It's just another morning for this young girl. She wakes up and starts getting herself ready while shaking off the sleepiness like always. Except something, somehow, feels off.
When she steps into the living room, she expects to find her dad preparing for work. Instead, she finds a stranger sleeping on the couch.
The man wakes up, looks at the girl, and sighs. Ignoring her confusion, he mumbles to himself with a hint of sadness in his voice.
Scared, the girl runs. She must leave the house.
She doesn't know who this man is or where her father has gone.
Walk alongside her on this twisting, twisted path and see where it will lead her.

I didn't care at all about all of the Christian messaging—religion has taken a way too big of a role in my life that I would've liked. But leaving that aside this is a great experience that struck me to the core. I'd say that religion itself is not a huge part of the game, except for a couple of instances of characters praying, which in and of itself is harmless. And Roger is, probably, the best depiction of this condition that I've seen in video games so far and that's more important to me than my contempt for Christianity, deserved as it may be.
Why would you do this to me???? Why does this game exist?????

super emotional. loved it so much.
This is a short story based game with some light puzzling to help emphasize the point of view of the main character. It hits hard.
i cannot stop crying. i don't even know what to say really.. just one of the most devastatingly moving games i've ever experienced. it touches on a subject that is so under discussed in media and it really does just hit you like a truck. the humanity and the emotions of it all.
finished chapter two feeling bright and sunny. Lost about 30% of the water in my body by the end of chapter 3.
and Roger is so beautiful and heartbreaking at the same time. Some parts of it made me really emotional and made be realize being a caretaker is one of the hardest things ever. I don't want to say too much but besides the game being a bit heavy, it's a must play if you're into visual novels or if you love a dang good game.
ゲーム体験としては面白いし、音楽もビジュアルもとても良かった。 話の主軸の[spoiler] 妻の認知症 [/spoiler]が中盤からわかってしまったので、どういう切り口で決着をつけるんだろう？ と思ってたら終わってしまった。 刺さる人にはものすごく刺さると思う。進めるのが辛くなるほどに。 が、刺さらなかった自分にはあっさりしすぎて「え！？もう終わり！？？なにか飛ばした！？それとも別の主人公の話始まる！？」ってなってしまった。
I have no words. The Lord led me to this game during one of the hardest seasons of my life, especially in terms of my recent break up. By His grace, He showed me what true love really means according to His standards and His way. After playing this game, I was still in shock and couldn't stop crying as I tried to process what the Lord had done in my heart. He allowed me to play this game to reflect on this season of my life and to process my grief. Thank you to the game developers. God bless your hearts. ❤️
