Ancestors Legacy is a squad-based real time strategy with a strong focus on tactics. Inspired by medieval European history, it brings to life four different nations and their conflicts, usually solved by war.

Reviews
A strategy game that won me over more with its vibe than with innovation. Ancestors Legacy isn’t trying to be the next Total War — it’s more like a tactical, squad-focused RTS where every lost unit hurts emotionally and economically. The historical presentation is surprisingly engaging, and the narrated campaign actually made me want to see the next mission instead of skipping cutscenes like a monster. It’s not a masterpiece and you will notice some repetition, but finishing the whole campaign felt genuinely satisfying. Battles are smaller scale, more about positioning, ambushes and morale than spamming 200 soldiers and praying to pathfinding gods. +strong atmosphere and historical storytelling +tactical combat instead of mindless unit spam +satisfying campaign progression +cinematic presentation during battles − repetitive missions later on − AI and UI can be awkward − not very deep strategically compared to bigger RTS titles

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 23 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 14 places towards #1, and the 2,515 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Great fight animations
This is a pretty fleshed out game of what feels almost MOBA-like at times but in a more proper RTS format with armies, units to counter, and strategy that is simple to learn thanks to the well-developed mechanics from the devs. In terms of the depth and how fleshed out the game is, it looks pretty, the animations are solid during gameplay, and the unit variety is what i'd call a solid sweet-spot considering this game is trying to not play "too slow" so you have to balance variety of total units, with the ability to streamline the gameplay mechanically and I think they did a good job here. Some of the factions I find pretty mid(Slavs offer great range, but will be utterly destroyed by Saxxons or Vikings due to the Saxxon's high melee defense, and the Viking's high melee offense) and factions portion of the game itself I find just slightly disappointing. At 34.99 you'll get a handful, you'll probably only enjoy playing 2-3, and you'll have to pay another 9.99 if you want access to another faction that does add a lot of cultural depth to the game for any history nerds like myself out there(I never paid for the DLC, don't plan to either ever for 10 bucks) The gameplay itself is rewarding, especially if you just wanna boot the game up and skirmish some AIs for fun I find it exceptionally good to re-visit from time to time even if for just a few games here and there. You can flank and take advantage of numbers, angles, how, where, and when you strike for the ultimate advantages, unit abilities can make or break combats or even prevent retreats to ensure your enemy suffers permanent economic damage with each unit lost, like I said it's very simple yet pretty fleshed out in a fairly impressive overall way. Overall since the game has been out a good while now, I'd definitely say wait for a sale, but I'd also recommend the game certainly. My overall time slowly ticks up little by little over time, and I do actually find myself going back to it even among all my other games.
6/10 Zaczynając grę pamiętam westchnięcie zachwytu. Graficznie wyglądało piękne, udźwiękowienie klimatyczne. A później zacząłem grać i zaczęły się schody. Mechanika. Mechanika rozgrywki jest wkurwi@jąca. Rozumiem zdobywanie sektorów, nie rozumiem sztywnego ustalania ilości i umiejscowienia budowli. Pomysł z wioskami jako źródło zasobów: fajny. Ukrywanie się w krzakach i budowanie pułapek; fajne. Walka. Walka była jednocześnie wkurwi@jąca i satysfakcjonująca. Klimat i uciążliwość serii Dawn of War. Gowno. "STRZAŁ W PLECY" jakimś cudem trafiali własnych sojuszników. TYLKO sojuszników. Drugim najbardziej WKURWI@JĄCYM rozwiązaniem jest blokowanie jednostek walczących w zwarciu i "odwrót". No nienawidzę.
I'm really enjoying this game. If you like playing Total War battles you will almost surely like this. It is more difficult than Total War as the designers have attempted to make it more realistic. When you give orders to units outside an officer's command radius you have to wait for a courier to reach the unit with the orders before it responds. Also, you don't have the unlimited control over units that you do in Total War. You can't just pull units out of melee combat and order them to go somewhere else. Once they're "stuck in" they pretty much have to finish the fight before they can receive and respond to new orders. Some players might feel it limits their ability to manage the battle, others will appreciate the realism. I think there are merits to both styles (the old playability vs realism debate) and there is no shame in bouncing back and forth between this and Total War depending on what kind of battle you feel like playing. I also the appreciate the ability to pause, evaluate the battlefield and issue orders to units while paused. If you're someone who thinks that feature is too unrealistic then don't use it. Anyway, great game, highly recommended!
