This game is a great addition to the point-and-click horror genre. There is a lot of replay value with the variety of endings and traps. Can't wait to see how the devs expand on the world they've crafted through the notes and hints left around the house.
Great game although can be exceptionally difficult.
This is a very well made game and I had so much fun beating it great job to the dev and I can't wait to see what other projects the dev does

Really cool sounding concept. Home invasion where you have to defend yourself. Here are the problems: 1. This isn't a stealth, survival, or horror game. It's a trial-and-error game. 2. The movement being point-and-click makes the game extremely slow and clunky. You literally can't run. WASD movement mode makes things slightly more bearable, however there is no sprint button so you are stuck casually walking around the house while you know there's an intruder about to break in. It makes no sense and it makes it impossible to do anything. 3. The attic: There's a room in the house where there are creaky floorboards that you don't know about and no matter where the intruder is, he will automatically catch you if you step on those floorboards. I got caught 10 seconds after the guy entered the house and he appeared behind me in the attic in a dead end. It really broke my immersion and makes me feel like there is only one or two ways that the dev wants you to play the game.
Point and click movement creates great tension as you run and hide from the looming threat in An Uninvited Guest. The countdown from the start embeds panic as you frantically click to move around the house. Then the sounds of the threat revitalize that fear once inside. After a couple hours in I got a good grasp on the game and began crossing off the different endings. At 8hrs I've done everything there is to do in An Uninvited Guest currently, though a modular challenge mode is on the way to add a little more replayability. It did take me sometime to get the hang of avoiding the intruder, though when I did I felt pretty powerful. There's survival tips on the main menu that do help, though learning in-game of what you can/cannot get away with was necessary for me to progress. Initially I was over cautious and that lead to me dying over and over. The game is forgiving, but won't let you walk all over it. Each run takes around 10mins to complete, either you'll be dead or on your way out the door to safety by that time. Multiple paths to survival encourage additional playthroughs and hints are revealed after each attempt to help guide you to achieving them.
I feel dumb playing the game: i know that has potential, I also exceeded my tolerance limits for non-detailed graphics, I tried to understand what to do but still can't play it, cause i don't know what to do. Also, the second time I've tried it was impossible to put the password on pc, like said by some other one in the reviews. Sorry man
Really good idea for an indie horror. I love that you can see from the very beginning what endings does game have, so you know what to look for in the game. Some mechanics are weird tho, for example moment when intruder comes for you from behind, and there is just nothing you can do about it. Also sound leveling is not good - jump scare of Guest getting you is really loud compare to ambience and footsteps noise.
At the beginning, this game was quite difficult and left me feeling a bit overwhelmed. After a little while, I started to get the hang of it more and more, though. You'll most likely die a lot as you try to explore more of the house, create different traps, and struggle towards each ending. Personally, I like that the game has some challenge to it and requires trial/error. However, the game is also pretty generous with its tip system and reveals more hints about item locations with each playthrough. So even though An Uninvited Guest can feel difficult at times, I think it's actually balanced really well and never gets to the point of feeling frustrating. I found myself wanting to play more, until I had all the traps and endings unlocked. It's very fun doing each attempt to see just how far you can get. And it's so rewarding when you manage to finally build/use a trap or reach one of the endings. The great atmosphere continuously keeps things suspenseful as well. I even jumped a few times while playing. A big part of that effective atmosphere is the sound design, which is just excellent. Overall, I'd very highly recommend this game! There are so many great aspects to it and lots of replayability with getting all the traps, endings, and achievements. I think you'll have a lot of fun with it, especially if you're a fan of indie horror!
I love this game. Absolutely love it. I saw the demo initially on Nuzzgard's stream, and when I realized it was out in full, I had to try it for myself. At one point I was carefully walking along, chanting to myself out loud, "Please don't kill me please don't kill me please don't kill me." That, for me, means FANTASTIC gameplay. I jumped so hard I actually hurt my back. If you enjoy feeling anxious at every turn, doubting every single step you take and every thing you hear, panicking constantly, forgetting to breathe, and jumping out of your skin, this game is for you! Safe to say if you loved the tension and movement style of At Dead of Night, you'll be down for this one. I can't wait to play more.
