Experienced on the Oculus Rift. Spoiler-Free Review.
This is an approximately 10 minute long, mostly cinematic experience, with a few interactions. It's running on the Unity Engine. Even though the interactions are simple, they actually work well in this experience. If you follow my reviews, you know I usually complain about simple / basic interactions as detracting from the experience. In this case, it's well-integrated and thought out. It actually adds to the experience. The visuals remind of stylized 1980 cartoons. Not the best graphics, but as an artistic aesthetic it works well within the piece. Although these are cartoon / comic-book type graphics, the subject matter is pretty serious. I would not recommend this for kids. I enjoyed the experience. I really felt like I was in this world. I felt the emotion and saw the perspective from both the main characters. It was a bit short though. I wanted to see more details of their life. The only real criticism I have for this experience is that it ends with a white screen and you have to manually quit. I recommend standing during the experience to look all around. You do have to figure out how to progress the story with the interactions available. There is no locomotion. Rate 7/10. Congratulations & thank you to the 12 students involved in this project. You guys did great!

Amends VR is a free VR experience. It worked on my HTC Vive system, looked ok, played ok, sounded ok. It says it requires 3m x 3m play space but does not really need all of it. Quick Sad story. CONS: Does not work with Index controllers. Try it, for a quick sad story.

+ Nice animation + Short story + Nice start to something that could be a cool trippy emotional game on human development. + Free +/- Sad story - Interactive parts aren't as effective as I think they wanted it to be. - Too short - Doesn't really show anything other than a parent blaming their kid for being too much like his deadbeat father, hating the kid, and then the kid staring over the mom while she slept. 3/5 This is a nice free artsy experience, the interactive parts are really just meh, the story is sad and compelling. But I feel like the overall story is just too short and doesn't have enough substance to show the emotions they're trying to portray. Amends VR is not a game. Games contain meaningful gamelike interaction and game loops, which are absent in this "art experience". Instead of being a game, Amends VR is a software application that presents a poorly made art exhibition which consists solely of a badly assembled "VR Art experience" about the developers problems relating to his parents, which frankly has no business pretending to be a game here on Steam. We get this non-game shovelware on Steam whenever your usual Starbucks barista/McDonalds frycook art school dropout finally gets a restraining order from the local art galleries so turns to Steam Direct to try get their art published somewhere so they can finally dream of moving out of their parents basement. It's true that games can be art... art is where the pinnacles of craftsmanship and quality meet vision and narrative to create an experience far greater than the sum of the parts. This isn't a game at all, and the craftsmanship and narrative are terrible. This isn't making art better, it's just making gaming worse. For those unfamiliar with what actually makes something a game, a "game loop" describes the interaction and feedback a gamer has when playing a game. Tetris, for example, has a game loop where a random block appears, the gamer interacts with the block to position it, and then the game decides if that finishes a row or not, increases the players score if any rows were completed, then gives the gamer another block to position. Counter-Strike has a game loop where a player seeks another player, tests their skill against that player by shooting them or being shot, the computer rewards the player if they win, and then if the player survives, they repeat that loop. There's no loop here, no true interactive feedback. It simply is not a game, it cannot be "played". This has misleadingly been launched in the "Games" section of Steam instead of the "Software" section. This is a common mistake for developers who are new to Steam, or don't understand the difference between games and software which isn't a game. It seems this software published incorrectly as a game is simply lack of experience/knowledge of the correct process. Here's a link for the process to publish non-game software on Steam: Steam Developer Help With Software Publishing It's unfortunate this process was not known about/followed, resulting in a non-game "art experience" being published in the wrong place. Publishing things which aren't games on Steam in the Games section as games is misleading to gamers and somewhat harmful, because it pollutes the Steam marketplace and takes away visibility and market exposure for genuine game developers who do the right thing and make games for gamers. There are no gameplay loops in this rejected art school dropout exhibition, no "gameplay", no meaningful game like interaction. As such, this has no merit as a video game for gamers, and so I cannot recommend this non-game as a game to gamers.
Artık yabancılaşmış bir anneyle yetiştirilmenin yansımaları arasında bir yolculuk.
Animation style was cool, but very short, maybe too short to get across the emotions that they want you to have. Still worth trying at a price of 0.
хорошая история младенца
VR üzerine kurulu güzel atmosferik bir oyun bence çok hoş olmuş denenebilir.
