About
In an alternate reality, the Cold War ended with an escalation of nuclear attacks. In such circumstances, we find our heroine — known from Alice Mesmerizing Episodes of Neurosis. Her struggles are far from over.
In one of the post-Soviet countries, a resident of a prefabricated concrete apartment block tries to piece her identity back together and find a way out of this traumatic situation.
As the world teeters on the brink of collapse, everything ceases to make sense, and what was once familiar comes to an end.
For we know that the whole creation has been groaning together in the pains of childbirth until now. And not only the creation, but we ourselves... For the creation waits with eager longing for the revealing of the sons of God\
AMEN 11 11 is a hidden object adventure game. The player's task is to find objects hidden on the maps. The game consists of seven maps, each with a specific number of hidden items to find before progressing. The maps are large and can be explored by moving the screen with the arrow keys or by holding down the mouse button. Zooming in and out allows for a closer look at the map's content. Players can use the hint function if they get stuck at a certain level; it shifts the view to the area where the hidden object is located.
The game stands out with its hand-drawn graphics, maintained in a tone of unease and unreality. It features the atmosphere of a dystopian apocalyptic story, psychological horror, or even outright psychedelia. The graphics, combined with atmospheric music, allow the player to fully immerse themselves in this surreal experience.
The game touches on themes familiar from Alice in Wonderland, but also delves more into mental instability and spirituality. Hand-drawn
Alice escaped, the uncanny psychological fog didn't
Thanks to Sons of Welder and FM Simple Games Studio for this curator copy. This is still an impartial review. Back into the uncanny rabbit hole we go, but this time the structure is a bit looser and more abstract. Instead of a clear narrative like in AMEN, the experience goes like scattered memories stitched together after all the Wonderland chaos. 7 levels, each requiring to search between 41 and 80 moths, all buried through increasingly surreal environments. The creepy hand-drawn art remains the star of the show, paired with atmospheric audio that fits perfectly the uneasy tone. Controls are simple with both mouse and (new) keyboard options, sound sliders are available, and the save system works both inside levels and between them. Achievements mostly follow normal progression, though a couple seem tied to avoiding hints (which is also new compared to the first game). I really like the little flying animation each time you find a moth which adds a pretty cute touch in contrast to the whole darker imagery. It's not a perfect game though : achievement clutter appears quickly since one pops every few finds, and secrets from the previous game are now part of the search pool, visibility changing once you hover those spots. Inner zoom works great, but there’s still no full-picture view, and movement becomes extremely sensitive at max zoom. Completionists may also need to avoid hints entirely (though I can't confirm since I haven't used any myself, but it would make sense for all the “Heightened senses” hints). Overall, it’s another strange and stylish HOG from Sons of Welder. The surreal atmosphere, music, and evolving visuals make it a great follow-up, especially if you already enjoyed the first entry and want more eerie Alice-inspired exploration. Big recommend to all fans of eerie hidden object games (but do play the first one if you didn't already).
После прохождения каждого уровня мы получаем достижение с одинаковым текстом "You've crossed yet another boundary of reality", или же "ты пересёк одну из граней реальности", а обстановка в комнате и мир за окном трансформируются.
AMEN
).

When Alice tries to put the pieces of her life back together, only for chaos to ensue... :o

Introduction
AMEN 11 11 is a psychological horror, dystopian hidden object game developed and published by Sons of Welder and FM Simple Games Studio. It is the spiritual successor to Alice Mesmerizing Episodes of Neurosis (AMEN). (For my review of that game, please click here.) For story progression purposes, I would recommend playing the previous game before getting into AMEN 11 11 although the latter can certainly hold as a standalone game. Anyway, Alice is back in the real world although it's an alternate reality in which the Cold War ended with lots of nuclear attacks (according to the store page description XD). Alice is living in one of the countries affected by the attacks, and despite that she's trying to get her life back together, events keep happening that draw her back into Wonderland. With the gameplay, it consists of seven levels, and you have to proceed in a linear fashion. In each level, there are a set number of moths to find and you can't move onto the next level until you do so. There is a hint function that recharges after you use it, so if you have difficulties finding one or two of those moths, it can help. You use the left mouse button to click on moths as well as to drag the scene around, and you can choose to play either in full screen or windowed mode. (However, in windowed mode, you can't adjust the screen size, so it's almost like playing in full screen mode.) Lots of Steam achievements are present, but they won't count towards a user's global total until the game is out of "Steam is learning about this game".
Review
Having just finished Alice Mesmerizing Episodes of Neurosis (AMEN), I really wanted to dive into AMEN 11 11 next. Thanks to the wonderful developers, a review copy was sent, so I had the chance to check out the game and give my thoughts. ^^ As I mentioned earlier, the story is a sequel, and I like that the devs explore what happened to Alice after she escapes from Wonderland. There are plenty of metaphors that can be made here. Even though it's explained more through graphics than words, I was able to get the gist of the story. Wonderland is sort of like Alice being trapped in a prison of her mind, and AMEN 11 11 explores how Alice copes with the aftermath. She definitely has difficulties at times from completely escaping that place, but I think that's pretty natural for people who have been exposed to traumatic places and whatnot. As for the ending, gosh, it blew me away, and I can't help but ponder as to whether there might be a future game in the works. Of course, it is the gameplay that's the main focus. Compared to the previous game, it's a bit simpler. There are no secret items, so you simply have to find moths. (In the previous game, it was keys.) Also, I like that a hint function is available, which was a complaint I had in the previous game. However, I should caution that if you use the hint function at any point in a level, you won't get the achievement "Heightened senses". The description doesn't state this, but it's basically for completing a level without using hints. Even though it's possible to obtain all achievements in one playthrough, it can be difficult to find all the moths, especially without a guide. However, the usual gameplay functions, like zooming in, are available, so they can help. One gripe that I have is that when you're in Alice's room, which is where all the levels are, it isn't made clear which level you're supposed to start, as the levels are indicated by objects in Alice's room. Although I like that it isn't your standard map level, I wish that the order of levels was somewhat clearer (despite that I eventually figured it out). As for the art, I love that the same style has been kept as in the previous game. It gives off that hauntingly dark, psychological horror vibe. Although the majority of scenes are on the dark side, there are a couple that have more color in them. Even then, those seemingly lighter scenes end up having a more disturbing purpose. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3667253521 https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3667253272 With the music, several tracks are present that, like with the art, give off that psychological horror vibe. Listening to them makes you feel like you're in a twisted version of the real world. Each level has its own track, and the tracks will loop if you take a while to complete levels.
Conclusion
Would I recommend AMEN 11 11? If you enjoy hidden object games, especially want ones in which there are darker tones, and/or like getting all those Steam achievements, then it's definitely worth checking out. I enjoyed this wonderful successor to Alice Mesmerizing Episodes of Neurosis (AMEN), and for the asking price, it's worth it, as all the art is hand-drawn and it's obvious that plenty of care was taken into making this HOG have great gameplay and an entrancing story. Of course, you can choose to wait for a sale, and it's in a few Steam bundles. Finally, I'd like to thank Sons of Welder and FM Simple Games Studio for the review copy. It was such a crazy journey with AMEN 11 11, and I definitely would love to see more HOGs in this style. ^^
For more detailed, fully complete, high quality reviews like this, please follow The Introverted Gamer, prioritizing heart and soul always. ^^

Another brilliant hidden object game, in this case moths, which will fly out of the artwork when you click on them. The theme is nuclear catastrophe, pure unsetling psychological horror drawn by hand and full of symbolism, as we have become accustomed from these developers from Poland. As I always point out, unlike other cosy hidden object games with cute animals, Alice Mesmerising Episodes of Neurosis has a unique, uncomfortable atmosphere and tells a sort of story through its seven levels. Thumbs up.
Follow our curator page to discover more underrated indie games like this one. AMEN 11 11 is a traditional hidden object game wrapped in an unusual package. The art and sound are quite surreal and the experience leans towards the macabre. You find yourself in a girl's bedroom with a series of highlighted objects that become active, over time. Clicking on each opens a picture that contains hidden moths which you then click to clear. There are 7 screens that each have dozens of insects to find. Some moths are in plain sight and others are revealed by moving your cursor across active areas in the pictures. Completing each area earns you a steam achievement and additional achievements continue to stack up as you click on moths. The interface provides a zoom feature and a hint option. Each screen has an achievement for not using hints so those seeking 100% may want to avoid this feature. The game took me just over an hour to finish and it has little to offer other than a pixel hunt in an interesting landscape. Each screen has a different piece of synthesized music. Some were quite relaxing and others were a bit stressful. If you are a fan of simple hidden object games or are a follower of Sons of Welder, then AMEN 11 11 may be just right for you. I should note that I have played other Sons of Welder games, but not the first AMEN title. Had I spent time with Alice previously, AMEN 11 11 might have been more meaningful to me. A full, uncut version of this review is on the Otome Lovers website.
Introduction
Do you like finding 100 cats and 100 dogs and 100 whatever fuzzy critters in the vast array of hidden object games? I do! It's an enjoyable way to wind down and feel good about the cute animals you've discovered. Now, how would you like finding a bunch of moths in some of the creepiest art pieces you can imagine? I for one think that'd be great! Your sense of accomplishment will be-hey wait, where's everyone going? Well, for the hidden object game fanatics that have stuck around, they'll find AMEN 11 11 to be an entirely different experience from the majority of this genre. The gameplay is essentially the same, but the art and music gives an ominous atmosphere that few of its brethren have. For those compelled by the macabre, I suggest reading on. It's likely this game will be up your alley.
Story
I went into AMEN 11 11 without realizing it's a sequel, or at least it is loosely. The first game was called Alice Mesmerizing Episodes of Neurosis (AMEN). Without that context, I'd have had no idea what AMEN stood for. Based on the title, my initial thought was it'd be a religion-based story of some sort. After finishing the game, I can say that there are religious elements, but that the story is more focused on psychological horror. At least, what exists of the story focuses on it. The story focuses on a girl in a room. I assume this to be Alice, though her name is never outright said. In fact, nothing is outright said. This game has no dialogue. Even the instructions on how to play are shown with drawings instead of being written out. I like it when games can pull this off. There's no language barrier, and it leaves a lot of interpretation to its story and characters up to its audience. The abstract nature of AMEN 11 11 benefits from this, because frankly, we aren't given a lot to work on. Some sort of apocalyptic warfare is going on outside Alice's room. She is in a state of mental distress. The player has to work through her state of psychosis by going through seven different levels. Once those are done, you see the ending, which... doesn't really explain anything in obvious terms, but it certainly gives you something to think about.
Graphics
If I was only allowed to try selling this game on one merit, I would pick its art. Good gosh do I love how AMEN 11 11's levels look. Most of them have drawings of Alice and monstrous beings. Some are based on Alice in Wonderland while others lean more heavily into religious themes. Most of the ones I identified were from Christianity, but I admit that I am not very knowledgeable about specific religions, so I could easily be missing other elements. There's also the computer level, which has a pixelated video game look to it and doesn't seem to fit with the others as smoothly. I still think it works since it has its own eerie vibes. Let's just say the Cheshire Cat is having a time. I really can't do the art justice by simply trying to describe it. The grotesque beings that surround Alice, the childish scribbles juxtaposing them, and the black-and-white designs with splashes of color for emphasis... Those images are worth the experience all on their own. I've chosen several screenshots to showcase some examples for the website version of this review. If those are of interest to you, I'm sure you'll love getting to see the rest in-game.
Sound
This is the other big selling point for AMEN 11 11. I absolutely love the soundtrack for this game. There is a different piece for each level, and all of them work very well. For instance, the computer level has a chiptune track to go with its video game theme. The final level has a more solemn and calm track to accompany it. However, since most of the levels are chock full of bizarre and unsettling pictures, the majority of the music has an eerie quality to it. My personal favorite track, Red Queen, was the one used in the first level. The main melody is kept in time with a ticking in the background, and the vocalizations add to the creepiness beautifully. It makes sense given that the first level is one of the Alice in Wonderland-themed stages. The sign of Jonah (no I have no idea why 'sign' isn't capitalized) is pretty close behind with its slower pace and chilling background accompaniment. If you're interested in hearing this atmospheric music for yourself, you can find it on Bandcamp; search for "cyd" to give it a listen. I wound up buying the OST before writing this review so I could play it in the background!
Gameplay
Here's the most mundane part of the experience. AMEN 11 11 is a hidden object game without many elements to deviate it from others of its kind. As previously mentioned, there are seven levels. What I didn't clarify was that you have to go in a specific order. Alice sitting in her room makes for a hub area of sorts. Each level is entered via an object in the room. Whichever levels are accessible have a green outline upon moving your mouse over their objects. The clock is the first one, the computer the second, and so on and so forth. Your goal is to find moths in each level, usually ranging from 40-80. The patterns on the moths can vary a bit, but ultimately there isn't much difference in their appearances. That being said, the little buggers have some good hiding spots. I liked it when they were melded into the designs of the creatures and characters. Trying to find them when they blended in with the background colors was a bit more annoying. I found it most difficult to spot the moths that were in the dark red areas. This was due to their black outlines being hard to see against that particular shade. Aside from that, the computer level had brighter colors than the other levels, making some of the moths there an eyestrain to pick out. There is a stand-out element. Hovering your mouse pointer over certain areas will change the art. It's almost like using a flashlight to show something behind the drawings. For example, the first level has some characters that you can look into the eyeballs of, such as the White Rabbit. If you do so, the White Rabbit has clocks in his eyes instead of pupils. Oftentimes moths will be hidden in such areas, so moving your mouse over noteworthy areas is worth doing. Even if a moth isn't there, you'll at least get a creepy surprise. My main grievance with AMEN 11 11 was that the hitbox for the clicking was finicky. Most of the time, I had to zoom in to get the moths to cooperate. This was especially bad in the first level. I was stuck trying to click on two moths for at least a few minutes before the game finally registered my attempts. Thankfully the issue didn't come up as much after that. If you encounter similar issues, try zooming in/out with either the mouse wheel or Q/E keys. I appreciate that the game had both options since my mouse wheel is in bad shape, so I'd have been in a rough spot without the keyboard controls. It's also worth saying that you can use WASD to move around each level, or if you prefer, you can click and drag yourself around.
Conclusion
AMEN 11 11 has quickly become one of my favorite hidden object games. Its stunning visuals, chilling music, and wordless tale are certain to stick with me. If this sort of art is to your taste, it's well worth the $2.99 USD pricetag. I'll be on the lookout for other games in this series, and I certainly plan to check out the first AMEN game when I have a chance! - Otome Lovers wishes to thank Sons of Welder and FM Simple Games Studio for providing a free review copy for this game. AMEN 11 11 is an exceptional hidden object game with multiple linked puzzles. dark, creepy... The visuals really work together to set the mood and tell a story. As always, love the artwork. Detailed, vivid, full of symbolism. Some of the objects are bloody hard to find too - clever placement and really great use of colour. Exceptional hidden object game.
