If you are looking for weird dark version of Alice in Wonderland with creepy twist, AMEN is your next terrifying journey down the rabbit hole. This surreal hand-drawn psychological horror transforms the classic fairy tale into a grotesque manifestation of neurosis and mental illness.

About

Hello. Good news.
You are in the process of weakening your ego-structure
The dissolution of the ego-structure may be accompanied by unpleasant experiences, the powers of the heavens will be shaken, the heavens will be set on fire and destroyed, the stars will crumble in fire, and the earth and its works will be found.
This process will be painful, but will bring the blissful fruit of release
Help Alice cross this path, destroy the ego-structure, get out of the abyss, find the key.
Alice Mesmerizing Episodes of Neurosis (AMEN) is a hidden object game. The player's task is to find things hidden on the map.
The story is based on the motifs of Alice in Wonderland, but it presents the struggle with neuroticism in a graphic and symbolic way.
In the game we will meet characters known from the works of Lewis Carroll, such as the Red Queen, the Mad Hatter, the White Rabbit, the Caterpillar, Chester the cat and the Jabberwocky.
Alice finds herself beyond the event horizon, from which there seems to be no return. But is there nothing that can be done? Can we help her get out of the abyss? If there is even a spark of hope, it is worth trying
Characteristic hand-drawn graphics, with a strong symbolic style, complement the overall impression and build the mood of the game world.
Alice in sketchbook madness: an artistic wonderland that took a wrong turn <3
I absolutely love games from Son of Welder, and I’m honestly surprised it took me this long to try this one. If you enjoy the uncanny and the slightly unsettling, you’re in the right place. Across 6 levels, we need to search for 24 to 45 keys per stage, and while most aren’t too hard to spot, the main appeal isn’t difficulty. It’s the atmosphere. The experience feels like a twisted version of Alice in Wonderland after a long night of strange dreams. The hand-drawn art is creepy in the best way, with varied textures and environments that keep each level visually fresh. Controls are simple, sound sliders are available, and the save system works smoothly between levels. There are also secret achievements in every stage, and nothing felt missable since you can revisit completed areas anytime. That said, achievements are a bit cluttered (especially the
parasite-related
ones) and sometimes pretty vague. There’s no hint system either, though community guides already exist for the more tricky spots. Zoom works well for detail hunting, but you can’t view the full picture even after finishing a level, and movement becomes extremely sensitive at max zoom. The glitch-like screen effect when finding keys fits the whole thing at first, but after a while it gave me a slight headache, especially since there’s no option to turn it off. And one small audio detail: the sound in-between levels on the map is much louder than everything else. I kept juggling volume sliders to avoid sudden ear attacks. Minor issues aside, this is a short, but memorable 22 minute eerie HOG. It's especially a nice timing with the sequel now out. A strong recommendation to hidden objects fans that want something new and to those who enjoy a good dose of surreal art!
AMEN)
Игровая аналитика от mkabatsky
Perhaps the most interesting and best game from developer Sons of Welder. In AMEN we look for hidden keys and we have 6 levels to complete. The items (some of them, that is) are well hidden and there are also secret (clickable) areas that yield us more achievements. What was captivating for me is the artwork. You can recognise some of the characters from Alice in Wonderland. The soundtrack is also great - it has its rather unique, eerie atmosphere. When clicking on keys the screen becomes slightly distorted - this is probably in line with the theme of neuroticism the game represents. I had fun with this game. Levels do not have hundreds of hidden objects but some take some time to find and AMEN does not have a hint feature to aid us. Still, it's a great little HOG; especially the last level was visually stunning for me.
Imagine Alice in a dark, twisted version of Wonderland. :o

Introduction
Alice Mesmerizing Episodes of Neurosis (AMEN) is a horror, psychological hidden object game developed and published by Sons of Welder and FM Simple Games Studio. It is a dark, twisted version of Alice in Wonderland, and you follow Alice as she goes down the rabbit hole and ends up in Wonderland, meeting notable characters, such as the Red Queen and the White Rabbit. Alice is trapped in this dark world, and although there seems to be no way to escape, perhaps you can give her that spark of hope. :o Since this is a hidden object game, the objective is to find a specified number of keys in 6 levels. Also, there are secret items that can be found. The gameplay is simple enough. You use the left mouse button to click on items and scroll the mouse wheel to zoom in and out of scenes. To look at other areas of a scene, you can hold the right mouse button and drag the mouse around. No hints are given, and you can only play in full screen mode. Plenty of Steam achievements are present, but they won't count towards a user's global total until the game is out of "profile features limited".
Review
I purchased a copy of this game way back when it was first released, having enjoyed NEUROZA very much. (For my review of it, please click here.) I've been meaning to get around to this game for some time, so I'm glad that I finally did. XD After having read the store page description, I was excited to get right into the game since I enjoy the various different takes on Alice in Wonderland. I like how the developers took the story and put a dark, twisted version to it. Without a doubt, it goes off on horror vibes, so I wouldn't recommend it to kids. Of course, it has a happy ending, but Alice's head gets messed around a lot along the way. The gameplay is the main focus here, and I truly enjoyed how much fun it is. It's simple, but it works. I didn't encounter any technical difficulties, and I had fun as I was looking for all those keys and secret items. The only minor gripe I have is that no hint function is present. I kind of wish one was present, especially when there's that last key that remains elusive. However, you can resort to online guides and such if you have trouble finding objects. The game itself might feel on the short side, especially if you're using a guide. Nevertheless, all Steam achievements are obtainable in one playthrough. In regards to the art, it has this amazing hand-drawn style that truly gives off those horror and psychological vibes. I can't help but praise the artist(s) for their work. Also, the colors used complement well with the backgrounds and such, further accentuating that horror, psychological feeling. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3666575903 https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3666575732 As for the music, the tracks give off that horror, psychological vibe, too. They're the perfect accompaniment as you're playing the levels and finding all those keys and other items to free Alice from Wonderland. All the tracks are instrumental, and you can adjust the music volume as well as the volume for sound effects (which are produced when you find keys or secret items).
Conclusion
Would I recommend Alice Mesmerizing Episodes of Neurosis (AMEN)? If you're looking for a short, horror, psychological hidden object game, you like different takes on Alice in Wonderland, and/or you like getting Steam achievements, then it's worth checking out. At the asking price, it feels about right, but you can wait for a sale, and it's in a few Steam bundles, too. ^^
For more detailed, fully complete, high quality reviews like this, please follow The Introverted Gamer, prioritizing heart and soul always. ^^
Are you brave enough for the task of going through grotesque sections, to find all the scattered keys so Alice can escape this nightmare? Alice Mesmerizing Episodes of Neurosis (AMEN) by Developer Sons of Welder, FM Simple Games I got this weirdly exciting game from the developer to try out and I'm really enjoying it, thanks! Help Alice cross the path, destroy the ego-structure, and get out of the abyss, to escape this nightmare. You will meet characters known from the works of Lewis Carroll, such as the Red Queen, Mad Hatter, White Rabbit, Caterpillar, Cheshire cat and the Jabberwocky. Discover what's hidden on the map. Mostly keys and a few others items to uncover. Hand drawn images also includes doodles. You'll need sharp eyes, clever thinking, and the courage to step into the grim unknown. This is an adventure and also a bit strange at the same time. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3542113921 Pros: * Family Sharing * 36 Achievements * Beautiful Wallpapers * Eerily Haunting Music * Minor Issues using Windows 11 https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3542113239 Cons: * No Trading Cards * Profile Features Limited https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3542112435 Rating: 9/10 https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3542112053 Final Thoughts: If you quit before finding all the keys on a chapter, you will start that section all over again. Not sure that is always the case. I completed the first chapter and moved on to the second one. I had 1 or 2 keys left to find and I closed out. I came back 5-10 minutes later and had to restart the second chapter all over again. Just like I never did it. I started to redo the level and found one key and then had to go. When I came back today, I found it was where I left off. So I completed the second part. Also I had completed the game by getting all the keys. But I still needed to get 2 more achievements for getting all the parasites. I came back later and all the keys I found earlier where still giving me credit for them. Now it's complete and it was fun but also in a weird kind of way! Would I play it again? Of course I would!
This game was fun but ultimately I have to give it a negative review because some of the keys were really annoying to find and there was no hint button. All I'm saying is if you're gonna have a seek and find game you should have a hint button. If you wanna play this game, go for it, but it can get annoying with finding some of the keys.
