Decent MegaMan tribute that has a lot of small issues, but overall it has an enjoyable progression system and good stage variety. I would recommend playing the demo because it showcases the game's movement abilities which will be locked in the actual game. Technically it's not a Metroidvania, but you will need to unlock certain abilities and replay levels to pick up items - such as using a double-jump to reach a platform. I like that you can customise your main character, including sex, armour and colour (not a huge selection, but still a very welcome feature). Surprisingly the game has controller bindings for both keyboard and controller - I used Xbox-one pad, can't speak for other controllers. Unlike a lot of the MegaMan clones, Alpha Verison is not too difficult, if you die you can spend your resources in the store and try again, so eventually, you should make it through. The gameplay is serviceable, and I say that because the movement is not perfect, the momentum feels slightly off - most MegaMan games have jumps that are more sudden and precise, if that makes sense. However, I like the character's arsenal which includes several weapons, shield, and a few active abilities such as enhanced ammunition. After completing tutorial the game will allow you to play stages in any orders, some of each have multiple boss fights and even different boss forms. Unfortunately, the game has some design problems when it comes to stages and regular enemies. I don't think that level design here is awful, but a few of them are done very poorly, for example, the forest level has underwater sections even though the game has no water mechanics, only to get hit by enemies through the walls when you can't attack upwards. A lot of regular enemies can't really contest you, as you can easily kite backwards and defend the predictable attacks.
Pros:
+ can create a custom character + controller/keyboard bindings (used xbox one) + decent content (took me 5 hours with bonus stages) + nice power progression, several active and passive upgrades + boss fights with additional forms
Feedback:
Movement & Water Physics - you probably should add some kind of water resistance, it feels exactly like air. The default character speed feels a little slow, I know you can unlock the sprint, but I think the base movement should be maybe 10% faster, including the jump which feels almost like floating. On that note, some of the stages like the Forest are designed very poorly, mostly because of the non-existent water resistance. Enemy attack patterns & Weapon Balance - I think you should give enemies more attack patterns (at least 2), more ups and more downs, more angles. It's too easy to safely hack at enemies because most of them have the same pattern. Some of the weapons killed the bosses too fast, the laser at full power could kill in 5-10 seconds (not good challenge). Some nitpicks - I think you were going for some kind of music effect in the main menu, but the volume is so low I was checking my sound if it was working correctly - you should just play the song as it is. It would be nice to have more songs for the game, you recycled the same boss song basically everywhere, it's a good song, but it's nice to have unique themes. The default sound effect for the blaster (minimum power) is not very good, other power levels are much better (it sounds like pffffff, what the heck) Overall Thoughts: 7/10 Sometimes you have an indie developer that understands what makes a good game but perhaps does not have a skill or the time to make it perfect. This game is kinda decent in every aspect, many good features, but none of them are great, and I honestly mean that as a compliment because you can do a lot worse. MegaMan on the budget sure, but not a poor effort in my opinion.
For more Hidden-Gems: http://store.steampowered.com/curator/31294838-Hidden-Gem-Discovery/
this is like a slower mega man game do to no dash and without a charged shot that instead you start with a shield but you can still get new weapons and upgrades just not from bosses. the games not bad as levels have different ways to go and weapons are not gotten from defeating bosses but rather randomly found and upgraded. the game does suffers from some really bad design choices. 1) 1 hit deaths all over levels. not obscene amounts but gets annoying added with 2) bad enemies placement. some are set up so they are very hard to avoid or knock you into the 1 hit devtraps. 3) the walk of shame is bad enough and even though the game does have check points, mega female is soooooo slow that redoing stuff you die on is a drag. if you enjoy mega man 1 and/or 2 (i think rock got his slide in 3) you may enjoy this game better. it is one of the better mega man clones but overall i wasn't happy with it. i really didn't like mega man until the X series though i enjoyed rockman&fort and mm8 also. 5/10

Fun megaman-like action game with upgradable weapons and abilities and stuff.
I have played plenty of Mega Man-like games in the past, thankfully most of them were successfully pretty good (we don't talk about "Mighty No. 9"). This overlooked game is nearly excellent. It is one of the slower pace games, so don't expect to run to the speed of sound gunning everything on your path. You will need to be methodical, focus and beware the one-hit death spikes. Bosses plenty to defeat and, don't worry, you won't find just a big roster of Robot Masters to defeat. They are far more interesting. There are plenty of updates you can get, most of them important for the metroidvania aspect of it. A+ for visually seeing your armor updates while you are playing. I truly believe here we have a hidden gem. If it was more well-known it would have been a big success and possibly a sequel. Highly recommend it. 9/10
With unusual, but great graphics in every level, this game, called by many a "Mega Man clone", is captivating. First class collision detection, insanely great levels and a soundtrack that is an auditory pleasure! Definitely buy it!
This is an itch scratching game, more for those who prefer the Classic series than anything else. Even though there is double jumping and wall climbing, this isn't X or even Zero. You're slower, you can unlock a dash but it just makes your character move a little faster, nothing what like X/Zero can do. There's a shield which... I just don't really get. Bosses can break right through it, things you think it should block doesn't really, you can shoot down projectiles that it might be used for and outside of one, the basic humadroid enemies shots will just vanish after a short period, rendering them kinda powerless. It's a mechanic that feels like it was just pushed in there to reference Blues. The base game itself isn't that hard, especially when you get some power ups, most especially weapons. It gets really easy with all the upgrades, though I do wish I could disable some of them. Hover, for example, is nice, but using hover when trying to grab a ladder just doesn't work. You have to let go of the up button, then push it again to grab said ladder. For somebody with muscle memory of holding up when jumping to grab a ladder, this has caused multiple deaths. Hit boxes are a bit jank. Not for the weapons themselves, or even the enemies, but spikes. More than once I've jumped, only to suddenly die mid jump because the hit box of the spikes below just... said no, I die. Even though I was well above them. NG+ is where the game really starts and kind of fails. Being the hard mode, it gets some stuff right; more enemies in places, mixing up the stage specific enemies to show up in other stages, changes to stage layouts, more bosses showing up, but then it gets lazy with how you now just take triple damage and enemies take less damage. I don't like the whole "you take more damage and enemies take less" concept, even if it's mixed in with a number of positive changes. It's just lazy and bad design, it's not actually hard, just artificial. I should have to pass based on skill, not shooting things more and having to memorize patterns. There's a shop where you buy upgrades, using stuff you get from enemy drops, which includes being able to buy up to 3 full heals. They're more akin to E-Tanks than Sub Tanks, since they do not refill when enemies drop health, which is incredibly rare in the game. You can also change hair and suit color, which while it doesn't mean much, it's nice, and the images used for equipment upgrades actually reflect those color changes. There's also a custom mode where you can pick, albeit from a limited list, of different options to make your own character. This also includes gender, so you can have a male humadroid, instead of defaulting to the normal female Class-C. It's nothing major, but still, a nice touch. All in all, I enjoyed my time with the game, no matter how brief, and recommend it. Again, just don't go in expecting it to be an X or Zero game and you'll be fine. If you want that, then you should check out Super Alloy Ranger. Actually, play this and SAR, they're both great.
This is a fun Megaman-inspired game. Well worth it. If you've played Megaman X/Zero/ZX, you should enjoy this.
