Alone in the War is another mostly-asset flipped cash grab from Fabio Cunha. This one is a 2.5D/iso shooter with some generic military/soldier asset flips. It's badly put together and shouldn't be taken seriously as a game, because that's not the point of this. And yes, that is a problem. Like most lazy asset flip cash grabs, there's no real gameplay here, it's just a matter of shoving the assets in a blender and seeing if it builds and runs enough for this to be dumped on Steam, and dumped it was, with a laughable $10 USD price tag for a lame asset flip. An important note: Fabio Cunha are known asset flippers and have previously taken other developers work and put it on Steam in an attempt to scam gamers and get paid for someone else's effort. Fabio Cunha have shown a repeated pattern of trying to scam gamers, here are some examples of other asset flip scams they've pulled:

"Robot Warriors" = AKG: Action Game Kit developed by Mijikai Games
"Square Head Zombies 2 - FPS Game" = Simple Shop Interiors - Cartoon assets developed by Synty Studios
"Thugs Law" = Polygon Battle Royale developed by Synty Studios
"Hidden Object - Sweet Home" = Hidden Objects game - Starter Kit developed by Allebi Games
Asset flips are harmful to the gaming industry. They're nothing but cash grabs, and they harm genuine indie developers by reducing their visibility on Steam. They make it harder for gamers to find decent games made by genuine game developers. Because this game has all the same low quality as an asset flip, as well as the other problems with it, it's impossible to recommend.
用Unity引擎做的遊戲,玩起來不怎麼樣。這價位不太行。
I am not sure in what kind of war I got myself into, but I am armed with guns killing guys who mostly run around with sticks, while stealing pirate treasure from them. Unfortunately, the game has several issues that hinder the experience. Guns have no sound, the minimap is terrible and weird, and the camera is way too close to the character, making it hard to see anything. I often found myself asking, "Why did all colors decide to gang up against blue? Why am I alone in the war? What happened to the other blues? What kind of war is this?" Most of the time, I don't know where I am shooting. I have to rely on the minimap because I can barely see anything else. New weapons come with literally 1-2 bullets, and there are no bullets to pick up on maps. Enemies clip through walls, which is never a good sign. You can't shoot through grass, and my desktop mouse is visible even after restarting the game, which is quite distracting. Additionally, Steam achievements only pop up when you exit the game. I don't like writing negative reviews, especially since I know how much time and effort goes into creating a game, but Alone in the War needs a lot more polishing before it becomes shelf-ready. When you open the map, it always says "Level 4," no matter which level you are on. The controls are confusing, with '+' for zooming out and '-' for zooming in. If enemies get close to you, you shoot past them, and the aim sometimes snaps to objects if you go near them. If you go to the edge of the map, the crosshair snaps to it. The rifle is okay, but you get so little ammo that you won't use it much. You can sprint for exactly 1 second every 10 seconds. Overall, Alone in the War could have potential, especially since I have seen the developer being active, but it requires significant improvements to deliver a satisfying gaming experience.
EARLY-ACCESS REVIEW
Has potential, but is so far unfinished. If you're going to play it now, don't play the second map yet. The buttons once you finish the level don't work, so it freezes the game. Apart from not being complete, there are some major issues with controls and movement. It's a third-person view, but it is angled weird and a lot of the time the buildings and environment block your view. The camera is zoomed in way too far and as of yet, there's no camera controls. You have to hold the RMB to aim while clicking the LMB to shoot. I think it would be better for the reticle to simply aim where you point your mouse, and LMB click to shoot. You know, like every other shooter ever made for PC. E brings up the map, blocking half the screen, and R is Reload, which you're often doing on the run. This means it's easy to accidentally bring up the map when you mean to reload. There's no way to pause or bring up anything to remind you what the controls are, and they don't stay on screen long enough to read them all. You're given a few different guns, but only ammo for your pistol, and no way yet to get ammo. You also cannot yet upgrade those other guns. However, you CAN accidentally switch to them mid-game. It is currently a very bad game, HOWEVER, I know it is unfinished, and I see some GREAT potential in it, so I'm going to recommend it with the provision you wait to try it until it is finished.
______________________________________ Have a look at this game. Thought there were only 4 levels but I got even more to level 7. The description says that there are up to 15 levels in the game. The game is fun, no question only 8 euros for this game is way too high. I would get it in a bundle or a discount campaign. The game is controlled with keyboard and mouse. First you have the pistol and later the shotgun and at the end the rifle. The funny thing about the balance are the weapons that you have 99999 shots with the pistol and can reload infinitely, the ammunition is scarce with the other two weapons that you can not get further than at level 7 you can repeat the levels but I find the same monotonous Levels to repeat. The plus point in this game is the super rock music in the level. Once I made a video for the game, it was introduced as a game where I only got to level 4. You can get the game but 8 euros is definitely too high for the game.
The best game ever!! The BGM very nice!! The valuable to buy!

cooles kleines spiel, macht spass wenn man die Steuerung kennt. Kleiner Tipp wdh. Lv 1 um die Pistole aufzuleveln
Alone in the War, developed and published by Sabrina Aridi, is a small, introspective indie title that places players in the role of a solitary survivor trying to endure the aftermath of conflict. Rather than focusing on large-scale battles or cinematic action, the game narrows its scope to a personal perspective, emphasizing isolation, uncertainty, and the quiet tension of navigating a hostile environment alone. It presents itself as a grounded experience, where the emotional weight of being cut off from support is just as important as the mechanical challenge of staying alive. The gameplay centers on exploration, resource management, and occasional encounters with danger. Players move through environments marked by destruction, searching for supplies that are essential to survival while remaining alert to threats that can appear without warning. The mechanics are intentionally simple, allowing players to quickly understand how to move, interact, and defend themselves. This accessibility works in the game’s favor, but it also limits the depth of the experience. Encounters rely on basic positioning and timing, and there are few opportunities to approach situations in significantly different ways. As a result, the gameplay loop remains consistent from beginning to end. What gives the game its identity is its emphasis on solitude. The player is rarely given a sense of safety or companionship, and this absence becomes a defining element of the experience. Quiet moments of exploration are often filled with tension, as the environment itself feels uncertain and potentially dangerous. This approach creates a steady atmosphere rather than relying on constant action, encouraging players to move cautiously and remain aware of their surroundings. When encounters do occur, they break the silence in a way that reinforces the feeling of vulnerability. The narrative follows a straightforward path, focusing on survival and endurance rather than complex storytelling. Events unfold in a linear manner, providing context for the player’s journey without introducing branching choices or multiple outcomes. Themes of hardship and perseverance are present throughout, but they are explored in a subtle way, often left to the player’s interpretation rather than explicitly developed. While the story adds meaning to the experience, it does not significantly evolve or deliver major moments of surprise, remaining consistent in tone and direction. Visually, the game adopts a subdued style that reflects its bleak setting. Environments are simple and often repetitive, using muted colors and minimal detail to convey a sense of desolation. This approach supports the atmosphere, but it also limits visual variety, making different areas feel similar over time. The audio design follows a similar philosophy, relying on quiet soundscapes and ambient effects to maintain immersion without drawing attention away from the overall tone. The pacing is steady but unvaried, with the game maintaining the same structure throughout its runtime. Players move between exploration and brief moments of danger, repeating the same core loop without significant changes. While this consistency helps reinforce the atmosphere, it can also make the experience feel repetitive, particularly during longer sessions. The lack of new mechanics or evolving systems means that the game does not introduce fresh challenges as it progresses. Replayability is minimal, as the linear design and limited systems offer little incentive to return after completing the story. The experience is intended to be a single journey, with its value coming from the initial playthrough rather than repeated runs. This makes it more of a contained narrative experience than a game built around long-term engagement. Despite its limitations, Alone in the War manages to create moments where its design and themes come together effectively. The combination of isolation, resource scarcity, and unpredictable encounters can produce a subtle sense of tension that keeps the player engaged, even if only for short periods. These moments highlight the strength of its concept, showing how a focused approach can create a meaningful atmosphere without relying on complex systems. In the end, Alone in the War is a modest and contemplative indie experience that prioritizes mood and simplicity over depth and variety. It offers a consistent and accessible journey that captures the feeling of isolation within a war-torn setting, but it is held back by its limited mechanics and repetitive structure. It is best suited for players who appreciate smaller, atmospheric games and are willing to accept a straightforward design in exchange for a focused and reflective experience. Rating: 5/10
