The VR controls are simply awful and have been buggy for me since release. I've checked in three times since then to see if anything has changed, but I've basically given up on the game. And no, I don't want to play it with a mouse and keyboard and do not want to invest hours to fix it.
I very much enjoyed this game and highly recommend it for any VR users. It seems that a lot of people are hung up on the lack of voice acting and the scope of the game in general but keep in mind that this was a solo dev entry. I played this in vr and it met all my expectations, a much better gameplay experience than squadrons or elite dangerous, which this game is being unfairly compared to IMO. As for the story I can say this much: I don't remember anything from SW: squadron's campaign but ill remember this game for a good long while. Another sticking point for people seems to be the price. For an indie title with fully body VR support and ~8+ hours of gameplay I think $24 is more than fair, especially as I could see myself coming back to the game after a brief interval. Squadron's campaign is the same length or shorter and no one gawked at a $40 price tag at launch despite all its problems.
A fantastic Little Wing Commander sort of VR Space ship combat game I played it in VR with a flight stick for reference. I really enjoyed this I am not a huge flight sim person but enjoy a slightly more Arcade feeling and This ticked the right boxes for me. the only critisim I would have is Level variaty could do with some spicing up, and Voice acting would be nice, the squad is important to the game feel I think it would bring them to life. having said that what just two devs managed to create is fantastic for what it is, well done.
Exteremly satifying space combat. They nailed the “feel” of flying in space and have really nailed down fast movement. On top of that, the music is great. I’ve been enjoying the story/characters. This team created something special here. Well worth the money. I’m playing with a VR headset and Hotas. I’ve also played on the Steam deck in 3rd person and it feels great in both settings. Music is great! Started listening to it on Spotify. Get this game and have a great time. You won’t regret it I promise!
I’ve been looking for a modern space sim that captures the feel of X-Wing or Wing Commander, and Alliance Peacefighter does a great job of hitting those notes. The visuals are solid, the cockpit design looks great, and the mission structure is focused and enjoyable. It also includes full VR and HOTAS support right out of the box, which was a smart move—this kind of game really benefits from that level of immersion and control flexibility. Definitely a highlight of 2025 for me.
Loving it in VR. More detailed review coming soon, once I've rolled credits. Meanwhile, if you're sitting on the fence, know that this Early Access title has a very responsive dev. Already fixed one glaring issue for PCVR, and is actively seeking out feedback and acting on it, but the core of the game is there.
Lateral and vertical thrust costing boost was a terrible decision.
Is the price a little high for the mission variety and production quality? Maybe. Should you still buy this if you like space sims? Yes. It's fun.
I'm a couple of hours in so far so take the review with a pinch of salt as I'm not too far in yet. So far this game is great fun, the ship handles really nicely with a logical control layout on pad that's very easy to pick up. I love the ability to divert power to either the engines, weapons, or shields, which gives you some nice tactics on the fly, and also directional shield stuff. So far the story is pretty interesting too, not just a super simple war, as there's a bit of mystery going on. And the stylised characters look good. The game looks great too given how simple it is. Only downsides so far are that the loading screens can be a bit long, missions are maybe a little repetitive (jump into system and shoot down fighters), but then again that could just be because I'm only on mission 5 or 6. Another thing is that if you crash into another ship you just bounce off, which is a little jarring. All in all the game is great, definitely scratches the itch of the old media starfighter games and similar.
Game constantly stutters. I’ve uninstalled it and verified the integrity of the files and lowered my graphics to the bare minimum and to stutters to the point where it’s unplayable. Would love to play this game but it has some kinks to work out.
