Best horror game I have ever played
Goat
Vraiment un culte de la saga. On s'en lasse pas, hâte de voir le second opus.
Phenomenal survival horror game that is impeccably authentic to the art and sound design of the original Alien film. The gameplay is intuitive and well thought out, although most times I found certain utility (such as the smoke bombs, flashbangs, and shotgun) not being used much, if at all, against adversaries in the game. The Alien AI still holds up exceptionally well in 2026. There are a few areas where I could tell the AI bugged out and wasn't running exactly like designed, however the Alien was far more effective for me in bringing out pure tension and terror trying to navigate the world than Mr. X or Nemesis were in the RE remakes. I cannot really say there has been another game that gave such a sheer overwhelming sense of dread and excitement all wrapped into one. The game can run on a potato at this point, hardware specs are virtually non-existent, which is nice. It would be neat to see a remaster or update to the game with Alien: Isolation 2 on the way where RT reflections and lighting are added, overhaul to the volumetric fog, higher res textures, cutscenes being real-time vs pre-rendered 30 fps locked videos, as well as DLSS and FSR. The baked lighting is really damn impressive for 2026, but there are times, for instance the SSRs in the helmet visor and reflections in water and glass, where it left me wanting more. The DLC survivor mode scenarios are excellent design and a great way to keep you coming back for more Alien: Isolation long after the credits roll. My biggest complaint, and it can be a pretty big one at times, is the game's pacing DRAGS in places, particularly in the middle 1/3rd and the ending. I'd say the game can easily cut 4 hours or so of gameplay and it would be more effective overall as the dragging really undermines the tension and momentum it had built up leading into. I found my frustration of the pacing resulting in becoming disengaged with the game pretty quickly. Overall, my current playthough clocked in at around 20 hours. Alien: Isolation is my favorite survivor horror game and I highly recommend it to anyone who likes survival horror, enthusiasts and causal fans alike.

I am commenting on this game as a casual, I have little to no experience in stealth/hiding games, and I have the survival instincts of....well I have very little-so this is based on someone who doesnt play these games a lot. This is me at Chapter 6 on novice. Alien, while toned down and does a lot of wandering to look-make no mistake, even novice doesnt mean run whereever you want. No running will kill you even at novice. I am learning survival, Im learning to use the detector, Im learning about flares and sound makers as distractions. the game at beginning says that (I think its hard) is "to play the optimal experience", well Im a scaredy on novice. Im enjoying the game. I have to take breaks between save points and chapters, so its slow going. The sound, the ambience, the feeling of being very vulnerable, you're looking around every corner, the layout of the maze like corridors, very easy to go in circles. And items you need to get arent high lighted (even on noivce) until you actually over the actual item, and they blend in with others. The alien is terrifying, the other lifeforms (both real and artificial) are tense. The save system-well you either will like it or not. You cant save anytime, only at various phone type stations. You slide the card, have to wait a few seconds, and then pop it out. On novice it will tell you if danger is near before doing it. Because you can save your game and wait for it to save, and when you turn around good old Xeno or other enemy is waiting for you. Yep, you reload the save you're in the deathloop. Now you do have the option of going to the previous save, but depending on when you last saved (and what chapter) you might find you lose a whole lot of progress. I admit Ive had to forget my FPS/ 3rd person shooter instincts of shooting stuff down, and realising the game is about avoidance and how quiet can you be. Its a game of dying but also means you are learning the layout for optimal progress each time. Overall recommended (again basing it on me being a scarrdey novice). If you're not a fan of tension games like Subnautica or Silent Hill or outlast, this game may not be your cup of tea. I bought it on sale 75 percent off and I am enjoying in a terrifying way.
