A gorgeous platformer with the most charming art style and a lot of personality!
I like it, it has what a platformer needs. I would say the movement is pretty solid with fun improvements as you play, the combat is decent. there were no bugs or mechanical issues that made the game unreliable or ruined my fun/ immersion. and this game's strong suit is for sure the visuals, just beautiful environments and super cute characters, I think in games visuals can go a long way and I think the art in this game is amazing. The music is honestly a little generic.. I wish the composer went for a more unique style other than just basic orchestral music for most of the game (at least the tracks are well made), there are some interesting segments like the little combat zones where the music is way more unique and interesting. It's really hard to gauge programming but I can kind of tell that it's well put together, not many bugs for me, animations work fine, combat makes sense, etc. Now do I recommend it? yes Is it worth the price? Maybe for you, $20aud IS pretty cheap and to the devs, I think you did a good job, you delivered the game, had constant updates for the community in the discord, along with lot's of community interaction. It may not be perfect but I think it's amazing for your first (i think first) game release. Please keep making more. Edit: thought i'd mention the controls because I saw them mentioned in other reviews, the controls are fine in my opinion. they work and they feel pretty good when you're just running around. 1 thing I would like out of the controls would be a dynamic jump so if you hold down the jump for less time you jump, less high.
A cute game with beautiful, hand-drawn environments
Really enjoying, runs great on Linux.
Would have loved to enjoy it but terrible sound design and poor/buggy controls/gameplay ruins the lovely artstyle and potential story
been following since pax aus 2019.. its so peak.. first game to sell one ailurillion copies..
Hurtbox is larger than player, Water level ruined the game
It's really cute platformer! I really need more games like Ori with beutiful art and cute characters. Hope some UX troubles will be improved soon.
Have played this up to world 3 and I don't know what angers me more. The fact that this dumbly designed, glitch riddled piece of koala manure was released like this on a government grant or the fact that I wasted my time trying to get the rare achievements for the just completing the story.
