Cute VN, a little too cheesy in spots and with some unexpected twists. AIdol is worth playing through extra times to learn more about all of the characters and their (sometimes) hidden motives. Cute visuals and a different but slightly grating soundtrack round out this offering. The character you play as is...entirely too relatable if you've got any amount of social anxiety. There are eight story routes total, varying in length from five minutes to four hours. All achievements work and are obtainable in roughly nine hours or as little as five with a guide. Worth a grab when bundled or discounted by around 50% as it feels like Ebi-hime wanted to flesh out some characters more but wasn't given the chance.

A boring story with mostly unlikeable characters and mediocre art. I can't recommend this to anybody.

Play as Hana, a young girl who loves Idols! Actually, she likes just one, her name is Aiko! Hana is a young high school student with a bit of social anxiety and awkwardness, but one day while browsing her favorite Idol Forums, she gets a request for help by a new user, someone who either actually is Aiko or is really invested in roleplaying. Suspicious of their intentions but as Aiko’s number one fan, unable to let this go, she must either punish this pretender or defend her Idol! AIdol, while not the best VN I’ve ever played is definitely not that bad. The biggest con I can think of is that the story itself is rather plain and uninteresting. Where AIdol really shines is the upbeat music, adorable artwork, and its multiple well-built side characters and stories. 3-5 hours per route, LGBTQ+ friendly with same sex romances, it’s a decent enough VN if you get it on a sale. Not everyone has a happy ending however.

It's not awful, but there's better out there; bought this on deep discount very long ago specifically FOR the soundtrack. AIdol is a vanilla, cutesy story about a shut-in girl who has to put it all on the line for the object of her affection: the AI Idol. Across her adventure, she makes friends, commits crime, & depending on player choice, saves her idol. It features several decisions, 8 endings, a diverse (if tropey) cast, & a fun soundtrack. Overall, the art/CGs, tone, pacing, & writing are unfortunately juvenile - which isn't the worst thing if you're new to VNs or this category of story. The writing stretches on longer than it needs to, with some unfunny humor, questionable morals (for individual characters, relationships, & the climax itself), & repetitive, tropey antics. That said, there are a few genuinely witty, relatable, & heartwarming moments. Of note, there are a few segments emulating web forums which felt like a trip to pre-2010 & all the ancient memery & cringe it entails... Technically, it runs as well & easily as it should for a VN. Multiple save slots, an ending & music viewer. Typos are present but rare. A fair amount of time, characters' portraits are missing from the dialogue box but their name is present, so it's only a minor thing. Characters are unvoiced & static with the occasional movement around the screen. Rare sound effects & music sync to events of the story. It's not a bad story but a few things in particular pulled me out of it: transitions are often abrupt - particularly with a needless & tacky jump to a couple of characters [spoiler]shirtless, in a needless love triangle[/spoiler], choices that seem 50/50 but are all the difference between "good" ending or everything goes to hell - instant game over, & a focus on multiple characters - many are introduced & (depending on player choice) not brought up again, despite them being shoehorned into the story. Others seem to have an epilogue just as long as their introduction & presence in the story as a whole. For a bigger focus on romance, along with idol culture with deeper & more adult themes, Love in Space's Shining Song Starnova is one of the best VNs I've ever read. For more sci-fi & AI themes, I cannot recommend InvertMouse's Unhack & Unhack 2 enough! For something else fun, lighthearted, & relatively family-friendly, Psyop's "I Love You, Colonel Sanders! A Finger Lickin’ Good Dating Simulator" is a solid option.

AIdol is a very good visual novel game with a beautiful story. The graphics are nice and the soundtrack is Chill and relaxing... I highly recommend it. 💗💗💗

AIdol, it's a visual novel which I spent a lot of time just reading and just following a guide. There's a lot, and I mean a lot of dialogue in this game if you want to do some hardcore reading. It's all about choices and there's multiple endings in this game. Choices matter and all that.

8/10 AI Idol is a short but sweet VN game with an intriguing concept, beautiful artwork, and charming music. My takeaway: I'll be honest- Steam had a lot of garbage when it comes to visual novels but AIdol is not one of them. It's a short game that takes about 5 hours to complete fully (all endings and achievements) but it gives you a beautifully adorable and unique art style, catchy original songs, a unique story, lots of characters, and lots of endings. Your. Choices. Even the little ones. Matter. Play as Hana; a sixteen year old girl obsessed with the virtual idol Aiko as she goes on a goose hunt trying to solve the mystery of Aiko's disappearing programming by tracking down her head programmer. She ends up making friends, or potential love interests of all genders, along the way and participates in her very first convention. The only thing I can really gripe about is that for whatever reason they don't use the box where the character placement is supposed to be properly and it annoyed me through the whole game. The characters who are off screen will appear on top and overlapping the box but when you're getting used to the story and you don't understand who is who it would've really came in handy if utilized properly. I also HATED the way MC talks to people which was so out of character for an introvert; I'll sit here clicking on an option and she would morph the text into something mean! Also the game is very pro LGBT but didn't touch the topic at all in terms of controversy or opinions. The game sometimes implies a deeper message but because it's never pulled through it lacks what could've been very moving scenes. [u]Pros[/u] [list] [*] Game is well written. [*] Artwork is adorable! Без знаний английского делать тут явно нечего... Тонны текста, на скипах пару концовок прокрутил, какие-то мужики в женских платьях, сладкие мальчики... Без эротики, но все равно явно не для детей. Переводить такое наврятли будут, так, что строго для носителей языка с кучей времени и любителей подобной тематики...
