If you are a fan of the Early Modern era (cannons, massive forts, muskets, naval broadsides, etc.) then I highly recommend this iteration of AoE. The Definitive Edition really makes the game shine with updated graphics. The nations are great, the maps are big and varied, and there is a load of customizability with the Home City decks. The huge, late-game battles can get absolutely crazy. They are wildly intense, chaotic in the best way possible, and pulling off a win feels unbelievably satisfying. However, there are some issues. The game occasionally goes out of sync, suffers from memory leaks (multiple lag spikes), and the overall networking side clearly isn't great. It works, but it can be a bit (sometimes a lot tbh) frustrating. In multiplayer, it is sometimes quite hard to find a game suited to your skill level. You'll either get kicked from lobbies (because your nation level is too high) or get absolutely destroyed by veterans. That balanced "in-between" experience is rare. Also, players sometimes decide to quit or go AFK in the middle of a long NR60 match, which is extremely frustrating.
way too buggy... It is incredibly frustrating to invest hours into a long strategy session only to have the entire match ruined by a sudden connection crash. The persistent "Out of Sync" (OoS) error near the end of mid-to-long length sessions is a well-documented flaw in the game's netcode programming. When a session drops data like this, it completely throws everyone out, instantly erasing your progress and rendering multiplayer unplayable. The engine struggles to maintain sync when unit counts, building maps, and action queues peak in late-game stages. play solo against AI or don't play at all. For Age of Empires III: Definitive Edition, players primarily deal with campaign cutscene softlocks, CPU micro-stutters, and UI mod crashes. If you are playing the older 2007 Legacy version, be aware that official multiplayer servers have shut down. Common Bugs & Fixes1. Game Stutters or Freezes (Modern CPUs)Older engines are not optimized for modern high-core CPUs (e.g., 12+ threads), causing Windows to drop frames. Fix: Open the Task Manager while the game is running, right-click the AoE3DE.exe process, go to Set Affinity, and uncheck half your logical processors (e.g., only use cores 0 through 6).2. Campaign Softlocks & Crashes Act II (Ice) and Act I (Fire) cutscenes are notorious for freezing or soft-locking. Fix: Simply skip the cutscene (press Esc) to bypass the freeze and progress to the actual mission.3. Mods Causing Crashes Following recent game updates, certain outdated UI mods will crash the game upon launch. Fix: Disable all custom mods in the main menu and relaunch the game to isolate the problem.4. Multiplayer Connection Errors If you're getting an "Unable to connect to online services" or a firewall error: Fix: Add aoe3-api.ageofempires.com to your antivirus/firewall allow list. Alternatively, ensure your Windows Time Zone and Region settings are correctly synchronized in your OS settings.

Loved the graphics
Estou no modo gratuito e o jogo é trava ou é encerrado no meio da partida, não sendo possível retomar.
Misto de nostalgia e estratégia.
