Really glad they split the “Indian” civ into three from the history of the nation. Too much history in the country for just one civ to represent these days. The three civs are fun and there are elephants everywhere.
Great DLC, personally I don't like naval civilisations but the new civ models are really nice. I like the presentation of the story and the slightly varied campaign missions that aren't just standard skirmish maps vs AI
Well, what can you say? In 2026 AoE II is still the greatest RTS game of all time, apart from Command & Conquer Red Alert and Operation Tiberian Sun, and the more content it gets, the better. The Dynasties of India DLC is another awesome addition with three new campaigns that focus on medival India, and the stories they tell are decently interesting. The campaigns themselves are not exactly the most challenging or creative ones compared to earlier expansions, but they have some excellent mission design for the most part and are very fun to play. So yeah, if you like AoE II, get this. _________________________________________________________________ AGE OF EMPIRES 2: DYNASTIES OF INDIA (DLC) Genre: Realtime Strategy Release: Q2 2022 ( ) 0/8 Simply one of the worst games ever made. Don't waste any money on this. ( ) 1/8 Bad. Seriously flawed with barely any redeeming qualities. Worth a couple of Cents at best, if at all. ( ) 2/8 Sub-par. Only for hardcore-fans of respective genre / series. Don't pay more than 5 bucks. ( ) 3/8 Meh-diocre. It‘s okay. Don't pay more than 10 bucks. ( ) 4/8 Decent, but not for everybody. Don't pay more than 15 bucks. ( ) 5/8 Good game, Must-play for genre- / series-fans. Worth 20 to 25 bucks max, if you are not a fan. ( ) 6/8 Great game, universal recommendation. 30 bucks would be a steal for this. (X) 7/8 Outstanding game, a milestone of it‘s respective genre. Definitely worth its full prize. ( ) 8/8 Simply one of the best games ever made. Get this, the prize doesn't matter.
Dynasties of India represents the gold standard of what an AoE II DLC should be, introducing 3 new civilisations which are not only distinct and creatively designed, but are also historically justified in their inclusion in the game. Gone now is the vague and obtuse "Indian" faction, replaced with the more fitting Hindustanis, joined now by the Bengalis, Dravidians, and Gurjaras, neatly carving up the Indian subcontinent in a way that feels true to the core design philosophy of Age of Empires. Each brings with them new and interesting unique and regional units that add both flavour and strategy, as well as a fully-voiced campaign that invites players to unearth the history behind these new additions. More of this, please!

A much needed expansion for the Indian subcontinent civs
I can't complain, it's free. I really appreciate it.
