About

You are Maeve, ex-mining engineer for the Astral Resource Corporation - ARC - a galactic megacorp that profits by draining entire planets of their resources.
As you take on your own mining claim, you'll explore the remnants of a doomed science expedition and the abandoned facilities they've left behind as Maeve strives to build a stable life of her own, outside of ARC’s control.
Armed with nothing but her basic mining equipment, tales from her beloved grandad, and her loyal AI drone companion, can you unravel the mystery of an incredibly powerful new element and uncover the dark secrets that the corpos would rather keep buried?

Use the simple but powerful modular building system to create your own mining operations hub filled with dozens of types of refining, processing and crafting stations.
Grow plants, raise fish and prospect for gems in your cozy habitats which you can decorate with almost any item you come across.

Descend underground and use lasers, explosives, drills and more to gather hundreds of different resources from your mining claim then refine them and craft new tools for exploration.
Upgrade your suit and mining drone companion to explore deeper and further into the world.

Built from the ground-up with story at its heart, uncover a dystopian corporate conspiracy and decide how far you’re willing to go for the truth.

Reviews
the game has some ok basic concepts and story progression, however it requires you to repeatedly backtrack, the game overly relies on a repetitive gameloop that isn't fixed much by changing settings. also, there's not really any automation, just stage gated 'automation' that help you get some resources for free. besides that the graphics and gameplay are good, relatively bug free.
Aethus is rather fun and helped to scratch an itch I have. It's not everything I wanted it to be, but it's also rather limited in scope and that's understandable and respectable. With narrative exception, there's no building except on the surface, which was initially rather frustrating, but became clear with time why they chose that limitation. For the most part, the mechanics you encounter in the first hour or so are basically gonna be what you have the rest of the game, while you get to do more things, there's never a point where it unfolds into a vastly different feeling game. While this game does involve a good amount of mining, a good amount of survival, and even building your outpost on the surface, ultimately it's in support of the narrative. Short of some UI/UX issues, like having really awkward scrolling horizontally for various planting options and basically hidden vertical scrolling when it's a double planter, it's very solid. Easy recommendation if you enjoy narrative survival crafters and/or farming sims with a focus on the mining part, as it undeniably has a fair bit of that genre present.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,402 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Good increment + explore loop, especially after the first couple of hours.
I really enjoyed this one - end game was a little tedious - but what end game isn't. A+
The pacing is a bit uneven at times, but the story is really compelling making you want to push past slow moments.
cool
AETHUS was an excellent playthrough. Smooth and optimised gameplay, great writing and direction with excellent humour. Plenty of game to explore for the price with highly configurable difficulty and accessibility options. The dev made the game they wanted to make and it shows.
Love it. Story is great. More like a adventure than a survival game. Slow paced, no stress. Some grinding, but later on a little automation. 9 out of 10.
A nice game, small in scope and budget, but well spent. It has some ordinary survival ideas, but some good QoL mechanics, like the ever changing passive resource cargo system is nice to ease the backtracking. The tether system is so nice to stop with pick up spamming the ground, even the final"hug". The maps are bland but conveys the feel of the story. Characters, although very little in number, have nice acting. Biome changes are explained well, and are somewhat colorful.
wow, great game, greet story. only wish there were more!
