Ive played alot of horror games but this games puzzles are borderline plain nonsmart
fun.
Ad Infinitum? Add Bordom. Genuinelly so boring, that I lost any interest in complteting the game. A story about a German WW1 Soldier and his Family. (I guess?) Except I don't know who my character is. I don't know who his family is. I don't know what his struggles were. In fact, after 4 hours of play ,,, I know almost nothing about my character, except that he's a German, who fought in WW1,,, his dad was a raging ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, and his mom when psycho. Almost 0 sense of interactive gameplay. "Follow the path! Spooky noises! Pick up the object! Spooky noises! Follow the path!" At no point did I feel like I was "Playing" the game. It felt like an "On Rails" game from old Wii systems. Honestly. For the first 2 hours --- the gameplay is literally nothing but walking around slowly and picking up pieces of paper amidst mildly frightening noises. ***** Also. Very poor performance on LOWEST settings. FPS crashes and audio glitches. Overall 2/5 Graphics 3/5 (Good looking with bad performance dips) Audio 2/5 (repetative noises and music with audio glitches) Story 1/5 (Story is 100% dependant on player reading in game lore. 0 story shown or explained through gameplay) Gameplay 1/5 (What gameplay? Holding W and reading papers?)
Ad Infinitum is game for patient people who do not mind a slow game / story / walking sim. For the 90% off price for 3.50 you might like it for what it is , a narrative walking sim with doors. The fact that I can not find my way, does not mean you would not be able too. Therefor I give it the beenefit of the dount with a a 5/10 . If / when I retry at a later point and still do not progress I will change this to a downvote. My issues with this game: I have been walking around in the mansion for quite some time. Seemingly I am missing a part for the music player, but can not find it, nor a clue on what to do next. As others mentioned as well, I just find a lot of locked doors to rooms. I am too impatient to wander around trying to find keys or look for a single object I need in order to progress. The positives: I loved the intro. I love the voice acting. I still want to follow the story. Atmosphere is good. Sound is good. ... I will try again to finish it at some point because I want to hear the whole story.
It is a decent but unremarkable horror game that dutifully follows genre conventions, offers nothing new, and conveys banal sentiments. Yet, after everything you’ve been through, reading those white words against a black background at the end—reminding you of the millions who perished and the inviolability of human dignity—leaves a lump in your throat; you realize that such "banalities" must never, ever be forgotten... At times, the authors go overboard with symbolism and metaphors; there’s a lack of complex puzzles; bugs crop up—lots of them, even on my system where there really shouldn't be any... everything is clunky and unpolished, so I can't recommend it >_<
6/10
Неплохой Хоррор, который дает задуматься Понятный симулятор ходьбы конечно ,но те кто любят оценят. Иногда загадки не интуитивные ,что печально, сюжет хороший.
Laufsimulator.
