Uhh bizarre experience. Big open world...too big and you spend half the game running around. 1/4 of the game laughing at the cutscenes...not sure if they were meant to be funny. and half of the last quarter in the final area miserably looking for keycards. Serious lack of checkpoints so if you die expect to run across the entire map again. Was losing my mind and had to look at a walkthrough to finish the game. There's a lot of fun parts in the game like some of the weapons and the combat is decent for an indie horror game, but huge parts of the rest were infuriating.
Finalmente, um jogo que retrata a realidade de quem mora no Acre.
This game is far from perfect. There are some frustrating issues like the poor visibility, limited camera movement, at times unresponsive controls, and clunky geometry that seems determined to trap your character on anything in sight. You can jump very high, and yet you get stuck on EVERYTHING. That said, despite these annoyances, it's still a charming, nostalgic, and oddly lovable tribute to 1990s PS1 survival horror classics, especially Dino Crisis. The inspiration is so blatant, in fact, that the game fully embraces everything Dino Crisis did for better or worse, so you can expect some of the same problems to be present here. While some of the control issues feel like just plain bad game design, it really leans into the challenging nature that defined those PS1 titles, recapturing the same CBT they delivered. Given the game's very cheap price and the fact that it was created by a solo dev, I can’t help but appreciate it for what it is. Despite its flaws, it’s genuinely fun to play. The arsenal is pretty big and fun to use, there's a wave survival mode with a banger of a drum & bass soundtrack, and even an online multiplayer mode with both PvE and PvP. Plus, there’s a nice number of skins to unlock for the main character (almost all of them being references to games/anime), making it pretty packed in content. 7.5/10
Here's a list of issues I encountered in the first ~1.5 hours of gameplay: 1. Clunky/lurchy movement. Not bad on its own but it sure doesn't help anything 2. One of the first enemy types runs straight at your ankles which is an issue because you can't aim straight down 3. When you kill an enemy the ragdoll seems to block your movement. This might also be the clunky movement or it could be: 4. every rock, tree, and slope is a major obstacle. The environment is very cluttered which exacerbates the movement issues especially when combined with: 5. There are invisible walls to stop you moving too far in the open forest. This is an issue when you are under pressure from: 6. 500 dinosaurs all the time. There are way too many dinosaurs. You kill a group of three and then you have five more bearing down on you. You kill them and there's another five. They go down easy enough, but there are too ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ many. I saw dinosaurs fade into existence before my eyes in a place I just cleared out. 7. It seems like when you take damage it forces you out of the aiming state (problematic when fighting 500 dinosaurs). 8. There are no manual saves, only autosaves. It autosaves before long phone-calls and you don't get an objective pointer until after the call ends. I think a lot of these problems would become non-issues by significantly reducing the spawn rate of dinosaurs. Suffocating under a sea of dinosaurs is almost a greater risk than being clawed to death. I wouldn't say it makes it unplayable, but it's not something I want to put up with. I really wanted to like this game and I feel kind of bad giving a negative review after only 1.5 hours; maybe I'll give it another try later, but I can't call it a recommendable experience.
I'm sorry to say this, but this game is barely playable. The controls feel awful for a survival horror game, and I'm constantly getting killed due the game's poor mechanics. Another problem that I noticed was that the character is constantly moving slightly to the right or to the left, even when you're pressing the "W" button and moving forward. Aiming with the gun is also annoying. In my opinion, and if I had to give advice to the developer, I think that David Pateti should definitely focus on games similar to "Terminal 81," which is his best product by far. And not only was it his best product, but it also was his most successful and most reviewed game so far. Well, the fact that his next game is called "Terminal 81R" makes me think he realized that what I'm saying here is not far from the truth.
jarek the gaming dragon brought me here
David Pateti is one of my best discoveries in recent years when it comes to retro horrors. His games show a lot of work, but above all passion. After the brilliant Terminal 81 and the great Mortisomem, he gave us another original game, which is Acre Crisis. It is known that the game is inspired by Dino Crisis, but David does it in his own style. Open world, survival elements, many types of weapons, outfits for the main character and additional game modes. What I like in David's games is the multitude of different interesting mechanics. And here we have a similar thing as in previous titles. However, what I like most is the atmosphere and the story of the presented world, which is not shallow, but multi-threaded. I hope that we will learn the continuation of the plot, because it ended at an unexpected moment. The graphics may be off-putting at first, but it has its own atmosphere and it must be noted that the game was made by one person (not counting the testers).
A fun, 2-4 hour dinosaur FPS with simple mechanics and a fair share of gameplay features, easily worth the few bucks I paid on sale. The final area in the lab stands out the most, it felt very RE inspired and was easily the best part of the game that made me take it more seriously. The ending sets up a sequel that I hope we see soon! My favourite part was that this game has a bikini outfit, and that you can unlock it within 10-minutes :^) - I am a simple man.
Lost & Ready To Kill Dinosaurs!
In 1992, a brigade of the Brazilian Military Police ventured into the remote Acre region to investigate mysterious deaths caused by wild animals. Upon arrival, the soldiers found themselves cornered and must now escape from a group of hungry dinosaurs. Follow My Review Group Here! 💾Graphics - The artstyle follows the PS1 style design. It does fit the game pretty well, and does add to the character of the game. It’s not pretty, but adds to that grim look. The menus do look pretty simple which is nice. Overall in terms of visuals, it’s really basic. Nothing crazy to talk about here. If you love the classic retro style/PS1 visuals, then you will love how this game looks. 🎮Gameplay - There are some good and bad in this game. For the good, I do like how this is a survival horror game with dinosaurs. Also despite the map being bland for the most part, there are some interesting areas that have good environmental storytelling. Also you have a points system where you can buy new outfits and weapons. The bad is the god awful movement and gunplay. This game is really clunky and can be annoying. You will always get stuck on something, and the shooting can be a headache at times. The only way to save the game is to enter a safehouse, so please keep that in mind. I don’t mind the system, since it does add a bit of dread while traveling around the jungle. Also the AI is pretty bad. Boss fights are a joke and the enemies are brainless and super easy to kill. 📜Story - The story is meh. It’s short and forgettable. No interesting sections or boss fights even. The plot is simple, but not horrible. It’s not the worst story, but it could have been much better with an interesting plot and story. 🕛Playtime - The game is pretty short. Like 5 hours max. There is a horde mode that is kinda fun, so that does add some replayability. 🎧Sound - The sound design is okay I guess. The game replays the same ambient sound effects and it gets annoying fast. The dinosaurs sound okay, nothing to complain about with them. I do wish there was some voice acting, but it’s not an issue. ❗Bugs❗- I haven’t encountered any serious bugs in this game. It ran pretty fine. No glitches or issues. 🔅Performance - The game ran well for me. I had no stutters or crashes. Also had a really good framerate. It should be easy for anyone to run this game. ✔️Pro’s✔️

Fun wave/horde mode
Survival Horror with Dinosaurs
Many cool weapons and outfits
A lot of environmental storytelling
Point system to buy weapons, ammo, and outfits
❌Con’s❌

Terrible FOV
Really bad AI
No interesting locations
Map looks all the same
Movement is horrible mess
Camera movement doesn't feel smooth (even playing at 144fps)
🏆Rating - 4/10 Buy this game on a steep sale if possible. 🔗Conclusion - Acre Crisis is a lackluster experience that had great potential. Some of the ideas are nice, but the core gameplay is lacking. Also the location is just really bland. If you are looking for a fun survival horror game with dinosaurs, then you may either need to look elsewhere, or wait. https://store.steampowered.com/app/2932900/Acre_Crisis/
