It's very obvious that Acid Trip is a passion project and I think based on the price is well worth it. The game is a top down shooter that puts you in overwhelming situations and ever moving obstacles to overcome just to survive, but you will die…a lot. The game seems like it's still being worked on and updated and I hope that it will continue to be worked on. The game is difficult, but that's the point. The game’s spawns have varying degrees of speed in movement and makes for a challenging situation that you can never get quite used to. You might start hugging the walls but soon a big saw blade starts circling the room, closing in on the areas in which you can move around and grab items like ammo or shields. The game does not want you to be comfortable and the difficulty ramps up pretty quick, maybe a tad too quick and the mobs do quite a bit of damage, but you can regain health by killing mobs. There will be pits that spawn randomly that you can fall into and die as well, that I found interesting and challenging. The game is not perfect, there are some misspellings here and there, even on the store page photos show some misspellings, but these are by far minute issues that can easily be fixed. I think some other quality of changes could be made as well. Like the ability to control other audio besides only the music. I also wished the items were dropped by the mob instead of just randomly spawning. The game is colorful and even though it is a top down shooter and 2D, it doesn't feel flat, and there are a lot of moving parts all the time and makes for a hectic world/room to fight in. The game keeps track of your score, so you can hope to get further on your proceeding attempts. I enjoy Acid Trip for a couple reasons, one it's challenging and the game makes no hesitancy in letting you skate by or hold anyone's hand (although it does offer multiplayer!) and it's also a game that you can easily jump into and start playing without having to learn much if anything at all. The game would probably be easier with a controller and that doesn't bother me, one tip I can give is that you run faster when you aren't shooting and makes escaping some of those faster zombies easier to deal with. I've never done acid, but this was a good trip!
For other game reviews, please follow us at What The Game?

Recenzja: „Acid Trip” - subiektywna ocena: 2/10
Wprowadzenie: „Acid Trip” to dwuwymiarowa strzelanka z widokiem z góry, będąca pierwszą produkcją wydawcy Ali Hali.

Ustawienia i Interfejs: W grze całkowicie brakuje ustawień. Acid Trip is a poorly made, run of the mill 2D top down twin stick wave survival shooter (aka kiting simulator). Gameplay consists of kiting enemies and shooting at them and wondering how the gaming industry has sunk so low when it should be getting better, not worse. From a technical perspective, the game doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. The artwork here is terrible, it's a blend of old retro pixel "art" used as a substitute for contemporary PC graphics, and some of the most amateurish MS-Paint style drawings (I won't deign to call these "illustrations"). It's unclear if this is due to lack of budget to arrange someone who can do graphics properly, or lack of talent, regardless, the overall visual quality of the game is extremely low as a result of these decisions. There's no options to change the resolution for the game or customise the graphics settings. There's no way for gamers to ensure this is running at the native resolution of their displays... there's no guarantee this game will look right on any PC as a result of this hamfisted design decision. There's no way for gamers to try improve the low quality graphics. Bewilderingly, the game doesn't include proper audio controls, so while you can turn off the annoying background music, there's no control for other sounds, so you'll need to alt+tab out and stop the game audio using the Windows sound mixer. This is obviously not okay and it's unclear why the developers chose not to include this basic feature. The controls can't be customised, which will be an annoyance for many, but it can also render the game unplayable for differently-abled gamers. These technical defects push this game below acceptable standards for any modern PC game. The poor quality of this game is reflected in the general public reception. At the time of this review, SteamDB shows the game only ever reached a peak player count of only 2 players. That's right, only 2. This is a pitiful enough number, and now, the only player activity occurs once or twice a month, presumably someone loading it up to see what it is then quickly uninstalling it. Considering there's over 120 million gamers on Steam, the overwhelming lack of interest in the game is remarkable, but also to be expected. This complete and utter rejection of the game from gamers should be a keen information point for anyone considering buying shovelware like this. Gamers just didn't take this seriously, and for good reason. Acid Trip is relatively cheap at $3 USD, but it's not worth it. Given the defects and quality issues with the game, coupled with the unrealistic price, this is impossible to recommend.

I'd like to start off by saying this might be the biggest mistake I've ever made which is buying this game. Possibly the thing I most regret in life is buying this game. This game called "Acid Trip" is a 2D top-down shooter roguelite. I don't think there is a lot to be said about this game except the bad factors about it. For the price of the game I don't think its worth to buy it even on sale. This game is very obviously just a project made by a college student with no intent of actually becoming a big hit. The game succumbed to around five players playing simultaneously shown on SteamDB. When you play the game you can see why that is. Acid Trip is a failed attempt at a revolutionary indie game that tries to build up story in the beginning but just looks like a few frames put together in MS Paint (Also seen in the trailer). It then goes into a retro pixel style type to fit in with other roquelite-type games. There is almost nothing to do in the game and is very repetitive with you just walking around in a box. There aren't any weapon or enemy variations either. Another thing I noticed is that there is no settings menu to adjust things like volume or resolution to fit your monitor. If the developer of this game was trying to actually make this game into a huge hit then they should install basic things into their game that all other games have. The whole page for the game is basically a ChatGPT'ed mask hiding the true games darkside. I do not recommend this game you should save your money even though this piece of ♥♥♥♥ is dirt cheap. As follows my regular way of reviewing a game.
