Aces & Adventures

This is an enhanced poker game. The early game could be a bit RNG dependent and slow paced. Mid to late game are much more enjoyable once you level up enough and get most of the key cards. At the end game you can finish most of the enemies before they move regardless of the draw. Overall it's quite a fun experience. Achievements require S rate and above for all stages and max level for all characters. Hunter Archer build and Enchantress Debuff build are highly effective builds that can breeze through all stages with S+ rating easily. I didn't deep dive into other characters but I'm sure there are other powerful builds. Max level for all characters will need some grinding. Just for reference, I completed all stages with S+ around 25-30 hours and another 10+ hours to grind all to max level. The game runs fine on steam deck but the text is too small to read. So it's more recommended to play on deck when you no longer need to read the text.

默认卡面是男性的，女性角色穿着是莫名其妙很低俗的，剧情是云里雾里的，流程是又臭又长的，还以为是老古董结果一看发布时间是2023年，到底是怎么腌入味的

Aces and Adventures is a deep and complex deckbuilder that is sliced up into bite sized story chapters. I didn't find this format all that enjoyable, but the overall game is still amazing and the voice acting and delivery is top notch. The base game provides five different classes and eventually a generous amount of cards to select from. Later on, there will be more map based path adventuring which I find much more enjoyable. The initial game is very slow and it might turn some players away too soon. The game gets much better after several hours after you get some improved traits, abilities, and useful cards. Although the game uses poker hands, I find the game is more about strategizing how to best use your abilities to minimize damage to your character. At a certain point, most characters will just snowball through the chapters and RNG becomes a moot point. There are even additional 'at-a-boys' for speed runs. The game continues to offer more selection the longer you play. Yes, it is a bit grindy. But it is still a fun game and it takes many runs to understand many of the games nuances.

It isn't just a series of battles. The different choices you make can lead to different encounters and events, which gives each run a little more personality. I also really like the art style. It has its own identity and fits the game's fantasy world really well. What kept me playing was the amount of variety. There are plenty of cards to unlock, different combinations to experiment with, and each character has their own skills and playstyle that make runs feel different. The enemies also have their own unique and later upgraded abilities, so battles feel less repetitive and you're constantly adapting every time. Even after finishing the story, there's still plenty to do. The extra game modes are a fun way to challenge yourself, and the higher difficulty levels add another reason to come back. Between leveling up characters, upgrading your deck, and trying different builds, there was always something else new to try. Overall, Aces & Adventures feels like a genuinely fresh take on the genre. It takes familiar deckbuilding ideas and mixes them with poker mechanics in a way that feels creative, rewarding, and surprisingly addictive.

挺不错的一款卡牌肉鸽，画面精美，玩法丰富且有深度，缺点是流程过于冗长，且由于手牌及规则限制不太好凑大牌，缺乏一些爽感。总的来说是一款好游戏，适合有耐心的小伙伴玩。

I don't get it. The game just plays itself. Is this a clicker? What am I doing here? Do I have choices or is this just a glorified screensaver?
