I admire the ambition of this indie developer to try and make a big open world sandbox game as their first title on Steam, however this feels like it's less than 10% complete. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A_3NWGsFE08 It needs a LOT of work for sure... Some of the things that need a lot of work and love: 1) The combat is zany and ridiculously silly. Maybe a lock-on to the target button could help here.. I don't know. 2) The mushrooms and plants are seen sticking up in the air and all need to be touching the ground. 3) The world needs much more vegetation and trees to make it feel less like an "empty and desolate" game. 4) When you swing your sword, it leaves a cool white motion effect, but that effect stays and doesn't dissolve like it should. 5) Enemies should drop loot or coins or something to make them feel more gratifying to kill. 6) The starting vending machine used to level up skills needs to be easily seen from afar. Maybe a beam of light from the vendor going far up into the sky could help with this? 7) The running animation needs tweaked so you don't look like a super constipated cyborg when you run. 8) Towns or villages should probably be made with NPCs, perhaps a bank so store good and keep gold safe could be cool. 9) The world is huge. An in-game MAP would be nice. 10) Creatures should all make sounds. A happy chirp if they are friendly or vicious growls or roars, unique to each would add a lot of immersion. That's just a few ideas that I hope help this dev make their project better. Right now, what's here just isn't worth even the low $2 price tag. But with more work, I can see a possible fun little gem. Is this indie developer really in this to make a fun game to play OR is this just a quick and greedy cash grab? ..Time will tell! NOT RECOMMENDED.. Until much more work is done to this... Look for updates from the developer and if there are no updates, it's definitely not worth your time or money!

Warning: Asset Flip! Aby's Playground is a Digital Homicide style asset flip, or what Valve calls a "Fake Game". The "developer" paid for/pirated a few Unity asset store packs, dumped them all in a blender, and submitted it to Valve as if they're real game developers.
Two notable criteria for what makes an asset flip instead of legitimate use of stock assets are whether those assets comprise the majority of the game, and whether the "developer" properly credited the people who created most of the assets in the game. This game fails both of those tests. The "developers" here didn't credit any of the artists and real, actual game developers who created the assets here, so this is plagiarism, as well as cash grab shovelware. In this case, the asset flipper took some art assets (AI slop made with Midjourney, at least they admit that part) and some stolen Unity assets and dumpted them onto a basic third person brawler template with little to no other content. There's nothing to do in this asset flip but wander around and brawl against other stolen assets. This kind of thing is just garbage and a great example of why asset flips are bad and why Valve needs some QA. It has no value or merit as a real game. Taking this shovelware seriously as if it was a genuine attempt to make a game, it doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. The game assets are fairly mediocre/low quality, in some places they appear mismatched... Ultimately the quality of these assets, and thus the overall visual quality is lower than average, and low quality always makes for a less than optimal gaming experience. Remember, we're looking for the best of the best of 100,000+ games on Steam. These technical defects push this game below acceptable standards for any modern PC game. The poor quality of this game is reflected by how many people spent time with it. At the time of this review, SteamDB shows the all-time peak player number was only 2 players. This is a remarkably low number, and now, the only player activity occurs once or twice a month, presumably someone loading it up to see what it is then quickly uninstalling it. Considering there's over 120 million gamers on Steam and well over 100,000 games for gamers to choose from, the overwhelming lack of interest in this low quality game is to be expected. This kind of asset flipping isn't harmless. It makes it harder for gamers to find genuinely made games from ethical developers. It makes it harder for genuine indie developers, who put hard work into trying to make real games, to find an audience for their products. It gives indie developers a bad name. So, should you buy this asset flip? Is this better than any of the 100,000+ genuinely made games on Steam? Of course not! Aby's Playground is relatively cheap at $3 USD, but it's not worth it. Given the defects and quality issues with the game, coupled with the unrealistic price, and the questionable ethical nature of the developer and/or their associates (as outlined above), this is impossible to recommend. Remember that if you buy a game from an unethical developer, you're putting your money at risk.
Profile Features Limited! Valve have marked this game as "Profile Features Limited" at the time of this review. This is usually caused by poor sales figures and low community acceptance for the game (to date). Until this status changes, this game will not give you +1 to your Game Collector badge count, appear in profile achievements or any other Steam meta-accomplishments, nor can it be displayed in some profile showcases. If these factors are important to you, it may be worth holding off before buying this game.
Это самое ужасное во что я играл!
To start, for the price, it's worth trying. Not going to sugar coat it, the games really bad, But the idea, although vague seems extremely fun. Here's a list of things that I think will make the beginning experience a lot more enjoyable as well as making the future development a bit more efficient for the creator. Few QOL updates (Quality of life- Should be #1 priority and not too costly on time) -allow movement during a jump -Jump is listed as dodge under key binding settings, so adding a dodge would be nice. -Make base character speed about half the current speed makes small adjustments a hassle and add a sprint to keep the speed when needed -Allow a back walk (Ex. can't move backwards unless your character is facing that direction) -fix the resolution settings (once you change it, you have to reset the game to stay with the default which is better the 800x600 option available) -Increase the render distance if the map is going to stay as large as it is -Remove the "Trade terminal" Having a menu to level up would be better unless more functions are going to be added to it -Add indication for the players position on the map -Fix health bars on enemies by adding the enemy's name to them, maybe even numbers for HP but that's opinionated (was confused on the kill 5 TOAGF quest, forgot the spelling but it was something like that) Major changes I think would help with the overall development of the game (These should be entertained the moment all the QOL things have been addressed) -Reduce the map size and focus on one decent complex & medium sized Region. At least start with the beginning region and limit the map to just that area. Currently the map is very bland and empty. (although it will be a lot less content starting off, it would be better to see a small complex map to start with, of course with updates adding all the other regions down the line) -Have skills be based off of the current sword and shield. (I didn't notice any changes in the game when using different equipment, it's just a skin, without making it a what's the best sword game I think the abilities changing based off of the equipment would be neat) -And of course, please fix the enemies, as I'm typing this, I have one above me on a hill swinging and not doing anything lol (More moves, cooldown on attacks for the player to have windows to attack the enemy is nice-currently been doing hit and runs on the harder enemies and spamming the weaker ones) Overall Back to the first major recommendation, less variety better quality would be the best for the early stages of this game. It has a lot of cool concepts in terms of the enemies (Love you avocado), but they all have 1 simplistic attack that has no cooldown, so it becomes more of a slugfest with the player on the losing side all the time. That also goes for the map, its overly ambitious and extremely bland. The textures for the floor are basic, there are patches of grass (or the equivalent of grass) for the other biomes spread thought out the regions and some interesting things here and there. It feels like the idea of what the art style should be is lacking, some enemies are cartoony, and some are hyper realistic. I think choosing one and sticking to it would be more beneficial to the games overall appeal. It's kind of like throwing ingredients into the pot without thinking of what you want to make. I'd love to see the game get more updates and be stuck with, please make a discord for us to come together and help out and show support.
NÃO CONFIA, JOGO DUVIDOSO PARA SER PAGO.
Don't.
